Im sure Inzi would have first wanted to talk to each and everyone of his players before making a decision like that. He had to make sure noone actually messed with the ball, then take action. Tea was close, he waited for it instead of calling a conference in the middle of the pitch. I do agree with you people that Pakistan could have handled this better, either dont come out at all or get on with it straight away. But Hair's action's were way out of order, accusing without any evidence. Im glad the people like Atherton, Hussain and Botham are seeing the sense in it. The stuff about Pakistan having a criminal history in the game is not exactly false, we've caused our fair share of controversies but you cant just think that the current players would do the same thing past ones did, moreover base such an accusation on it. By the way its not like you lot have a clean history, with the famous 'bodyline' series and atherton carrying dirt in his pockets and all

Yep. You would think that with so many cameras around these days they would pick up anything of the sort. Furthurmore, the umpires havent pointed out who did it or when. The funny thing is, the pakistan cricket board requested the ECB to appoint other umpires for the tour, since these two have been involved in so many scandals with us. The ECB turned down the request, and the bloody bastids are doing it again. They took the second test away from us with some unbelievable decisions and now they've messed up what was a great performance. Ian Botham pointed out that when the ball is that old there is no way you can judge that it has been tampered with just by looking at it, and when there is no TV evidence and the umpires fail to give an explanation, the players had every reason to go on strike. What a disgrace!!! Saying that I do hope nothing really happened, and these umpires were messing with just as they have been doing so in the past.

I dont start swearing at people just because they think a goal is better than it perhaps was. I will now stop wasting my time around scum like yourself.

Im delighted to know that you can read the age from under my avatar, so you are not completely incompetent. I will not get dragged into a war of abuse with you, you have proven yourself to be highly immature and yet you call me a child. I wont come down to your level, as cliched as that might sound. Im just curious, is this just because Ive been defending Luque?? Exactly why the hatred?? Good to see you spent your afternoon doing something constructive.

Where are portsmouth getting all this money from??

My team's problem is we're shit tbh, for which I partly blame the FAI and partly genetics. If you had a true understanding of what made Luque's goal so "great", you would find it easier to describe in technical terms. I actually agree with some of the general points you're putting across, but I can't be bothered to discuss it with you properly, as I made pretty clear early on, because I think you're a moron, so I think I'll just jeep laughing at you instead. Thanks for the entertainment, though. 176489 All you seem to do on here is make one line comments about posts or the people who made them, so im not surprised you dont 'bother' to discuss it properly. You seem pretty incapable of doing so. Other people probably think im just as crazy for posting this thread as you do, but they've presented their points and debated forcefully. You on the other hand, have just been picking up on what they've said and chip in with a bitchy comment every now and again. I might have a couple of strange ideas, but in all honestly you are the moron. Ive said everything I could have about luque, its clear 99% of you dont agree with me. Finally, i would just like to summarise what ive been saying. Luque has NOT been great for us, and im not saying he will be. But i think he's got the ability to be and we are wrong to pass this judgement at this moment.
-
Ah, so you're the one with the prejudice problem. What about the people who don't agree with you who aren't English? Can you try and explain the technical aspects of why Luque's goal was so good? I know it's hard to dumb it down to my level, but I would really love to understand. You can find the goal on youtube.com if you're having difficulty remembering. 176475 Prejudice problem?? I am merely pointing out what I think your teams weakness is. England lacked flair and skill in the world cup, and they have for sometime now. Its the seeming inability to understand what flair and skill really is, and that sometimes mere hardwork is not enough and needs to be supplemented with natural talent. I think I pretty much explained why luques goal was so good in my last post but i'll try again. The way he stopped the ball, went past the defender and finished it requires technical ability that noone else at our club and most other people at other premier league clubs dont have.

Yes, where have I said that Luque has been brilliant for us? I just said he's shown flashes of how good he can be and in my view he hasnt been given enough time yet. Ive also accepted that at times he has been lazy but I stressed that it was only in a friendly and the whole team in general seemed lathargic. About the goal, the whole of it was brilliant. If you fail to see the artistry in it then I can see why you think luque is so useless. It was a goal out of nothing, the setup, the finish, they were perfect. But I know most people here would prefer to see a long range strike from Gerrard or a thumping header from Crouch. What Luque did was just different class, its this failure to understand that that has often led to England's downfall. Hardwork, committment are very important but they wont be enough without flair and true talent.
-
I would be interested if you could find anyone to say of Luque "Perhaps only Henry could score a goal like the one he did against Lillestrom" without dribbling. Jesus Wept. 176103 Name me any other player in the premiership who you think capable of scoring a goal like that. I know Robert did once against Arsenal, but other than that I cant really think of another player from this league who could do it.
-
You are the one and only tbh. Unless you mean he is coming from Pakistan? 176089 Well, there's a thread on NO about luque, and quite a few people seem to share my point of view. Forget what I said about NO earlier
-
The say football is all about opinions and they are correct. Its just that yours are wrong. 175843 So ive heard By the way, opinions are never wrong or right. They are different. Anyway I'll be Mr nice and agreeable from now on

Not insulting them, just trying to be smart Its not that they dont have any sensible posters. But their membership base is so large now that the twits outnumber the rest easily. They are trying to sort it out though, with new threads now being moderated and all. Fair play to the Admin.

You started a conversation and then buggered off, I think that's the point people were making tbh. 175746 Well, there wasnt anyone on the board at the time. I never stated that people dislike Luque because he is Spanish. But overseas players often get stamped with the 'lazy greedy foreigner' remark. It doesnt have to mean anything, but people just seem to blindly say it these days. Why do you just cut off a single line from my post and concentrate on it? I accepted that luque has been lazy at times this pre-season, but then almost all of our players have been. How many times did we go to sleep against PSV? Its not fair to single luque out like that. And I dont really bother about friendlies, sometimes players dont just go all out in these games because they are afraid of getting injured before the new season. Luque has recovered from a bad injury, imagine if he pulled up again during a friendly game worth nothing. Im not encouraging this attitude, im just saying its understandable. Now if a game held some meaning, and luque didnt give a shite that would be worrying. Im not saying Luque will be the next Shearer or anything, just that we havent seen him enough to pass judgement like that. He's shown flashes of brilliance already. Perhaps only Henry could score a goal like the one he did against Lillestrom. So its not like he's been terrible like some people say. Judging someone on the back of a performance in one friendly is absurd. I keep saying this again and again, he's not been given a proper outing! Lets judge him once he's had the chance to prove himself!!!!!!!!!!!! 175796 I can name you zounds more beloved foreign players than english players in the history of the premier league, which undermines your entire argument. 175810 I know mate, I can name them too! But you are misreding my post a bit. Maybe I should have been a bit clearer myself. I mean that because there have been some allegedly lazy players like kluivert from abroad, every foreigner who doesnt make it in this league get called a lazy bastid too while the reasons for his failure could have been anything else. For instance if luque gets shipped out, it would be madness to say he didnt make it because he was lazy. But some people will definitely say that. They are already saying it. 175840 I can't say i agree with that, for example if Stig Tofting failed miserably no one would call him lazy. 175857 Well there are always exceptions, but it does seem to me that laziness is most commonly attributed to foreign failures. Maybe its just me............ Also, maybe we sometimes fail to differentiate between laziness and style of play? A lot of these players come from spain and italy where the tempo of the game is much lower. So perhaps these players plan on playing the same tempo and try to use their(usually) higher level of skill. You know, try to play the english game their way. Whether it works or not is something else, but it cant be called laziness, its just lower tempo higher skill stuff. Similarly englishmen abroad are probably accused of having no skill or flair, although they may be play at a much higher tempo. Imagine an Italian man sitting infront of his tv cursing someone from england, ''look at the little twat, running around like mad but cant beat a single player.''

Correct. We've got defenders on the books, maybe not world-beaters, but they are there. As far as a goal threat dangerous striker is concerned, the cupboard is absolutely bare. 175813 Thirded. Anyone who thinks that we don't need strikers is a fool 175821 Nobody thinks that. Somebody just thinks we need a defender just as much. Yes we have got defenders on our books, but only on our books! Thats what im saying, none of them seems to be doing the job properly and are just as inept as ameobi or luque upfront. However both ameobi and luque have shown promise pre-season but the defense has been in shambles again. We need palyers at both positions, but I'd rather go into the season with ameobi and luque upfront rather than bramble, boumsong and and carr at the back.

So do we get little beepers that detect good answers and tell us to stay away?? Sorry I havent got one. I made a post, hardly anyone was online at the time and so I decided to come back in the evening. Is that so hard to uinderstand? And is that against forum ethics?? We are supposed to wait 10 hours after starting a thread and answer every post made until the topic is exhausted?? I'll shift the pc into my bedroom if thats the case. No, im saying an overseas failure will always get stamped with that remark, even if the reason of his failure was something else like in luque's case. You dont just cut off the first line from a paragraph and say its the crux of the issue. You are supposed to read paragraphs as whole. So when you read the first line you understood that I think luque hasnt been bad for us and you think im a madman. But when you read the whole para you understand the reasons why I think he hasnt been that bad or why his laziness is forgivable.

Im on a roll today The games against PSV and Villareal confirmed our worst fear: our defense is just as bad as last season. If we are going to leak silly goals like that again, is there anyhope for next season. I dont care how many martins or kuyt's we sign, if we dont get a couple of decent defenders we will struggle in midtable next season. So my question, should Roeder abondon the striker search for now and patch up the defence first? I know we are looking to get both, but now I'd rather have two good quality fullbacks rather than a striker and one fullback. The Gravesen rumour thus worries me a bit though, why are we looking to sign a player in an area that needs the least strengthening? My list of priorites: 2 defenders, then a striker, then a midfielder if possible

He has been terrible. Granted he has been injured etc but he obviously isnt bothering to buck up his ideas. If Roeder could sell him...he'd be gone. 175645 Sorry I dont read any of your posts, happened to cast an eye over your sig once.

Half the forum went logical on his ass tbf. 175596 Maybe you should have considered the time difference in our parts of the world, and also the fact that I dont plan on spending my entire day on the site. And dotbum, if i hadnt been looking for a logical argument i would have posted this on NO In luque's case, the criticism started well before the end of last season when he had hardly started a game. I accept he has been poor in parts, but then who hasnt been? And he has also shown flashes of brilliance. So while he continues to show a bit of both worlds, i think we should give him a chance. He needs a decent 10-12 games run to get into the heart of things and adjust himself properly. Crticize him once he's had a fair run in the team. Remember this is a lad who's come from a league where they play a very different style of football and he's had a major injury problem. So to completely write him off on the pretext of a few absent minded moments(and those in friendlies) is a bit silly in my opinion. He's not had the chance to settle into the team yet, I dont think a player should be criticised when he hasnt been given the chance to prove himself. When a player comes from a completely different style of football he needs time plus faith shown in him by the team. Luque's had none. I dont take any of the 'he doesnt bother too much' stuff. He's payed to score goals, which he has been doing recently. Plus the last few games have been friendlies, and the attitude of the team in general was very lathargic in the psv and villareal games. It isnt fair to single out luque. Besides, is it fair to chick him out because of one bad performance? I didnt see any problems with his committment in any of the league matches last season, though he never looked match fit and thus not running as well as he could have.
-
Im very annoyed about the Luque situation. To me, whenever he's played he's been useful but he keeps getting left out. People say he was poor last season, but he started 6 games for heavens sake!!! He's had a torrid time with injuries. He score a good goal towards the end of last season on his return, and he's looked good this pre-season now that he's getting his fitness back. So why he wasnt in the line-up yesterday is completely beyond me. Englishmen have always had this thing against foreigners, calling them lazy and all that. To many people Bowyer was a great player for us, but in truth he was pathetic and a liability with hardly any skill on the ball. But people liked him because he ran around like a mad chicken all the time. So what if he hardly did anything else in a match?? Now Luque's a player with great skill, and he's started to show it for us but just because he doesnt ran around like a madman and put in crazy tackles he's a lazy player. So what if he's a match winner? We need to give him a good run in the side, so he can get to proper match fitness. But what we do is play him now and again, then declare him a lazy good for nothing foreigner(despite the fact he seems to score goals), and then put him on the bench. The cycle goes on until the player finally gets fed up and asks for a move. Then we can raid him with the 'you greedy lazy money collecting doing nothing foreigner' taunts. Fantastic stuff Luque hasnt done anything brilliant for us so far, but we seem intent on not giving him a chance. One cant expect him to perform miracles when he plays once in ten games.

I like a couple of songs from system of a down, like 'spiders', 'aerials' and 'dreaming'. But they can be quite rubbish at times.
