  1. So nobody still thinks we need a defender more, apart from wykikitoon? Hate to say I told you so, but its pretty obvious now which area needs more strenghtening.
  2. Aye, if the officials had spotted that that would have been the end of the game there and then for us. What was he thinking exactly? Hope to hell, when Bernard does return, he can find his form and keep Babayaro out of the team.
  3. Will definitely download that. But isnt posting these clips illegal now?
  4. Ah Pascal's dilemma - If I'm right and death is death then you've lost nothing but if you're right then I've lost everything. Only problem is your "specific" truth has to be the right one so your's is just as much a "gamble" as mine. Mine is not a gamble, it is a firm belief and I have no problems dying with it. You guys dont exactly live in a haven for islamic scholars do you? So im not surprised you havent met any. Im not pulling out of this debate because you've shattered my belief misters, its because i am not disillusioned about my capabilites on the matter. I am 18 and i know my knowledge of religion and philosphy is not extensive enough for me to rage on about it in such a situatuon, yet. I suggest you go and sart this debate on an islamic board where you will expect to find serious answers.
  5. Would just like to say that the verse from the Quran which explains God has blinded the people who refuse to look into the truth leaps to my mind after reading this thread. The funny thing is that after reading the posts here my faith has been doubly strenghtened, because your reaction is exactly what the Quran said a 1500 years back it would be. This has almost been like a laboratory experiment. Im astonished to be honest. Of course you dont believe in any of that so you think im talking rubbish. So I think convincing you people is beyond me now, its a job for a proper scholar, not me. We have our own beliefs, once we die with them we'll see what happens. Until then enjoy life and be happy
  6. What the......where did you get that from?? Its says nothing of the sort. Only in self-defence. Thats what most people dont get. Its not Islam or Christianity that have bought the world to war, its exactly the opposite. Its people either forgetting, or completely altering the teachings of Islam and Christianity that has led to this stage. How many people on this thread have said 'I dont give a crap about religion'? Thats happening all over the world, people forgetting true religion or altering it to suit whatever they feel like at the time. Its not just happening to religion, while muslims and christians are forgetting what their religion tells them, ethics morals etc are disappearing gradually on the world level, no doubt about it. Out of context no doubt On your second point its the usual "atheists have no morals" bollocks. As part of my interest in evolution/creationism debates I found out that there were MORE murders in the US before Darwin produced his "satanic" book - this was used to counter the argument that the "downfall" of religion had led to ethical decline. Tell me who has better morals - someone like me who is "good" because I believe in the good of humanity as a whole or someone who is "good" because he desires a reward of paradise or avoidance of hell? Where does the Quran say to kill the non-believers?? Its seems to be stressing the point that Allah is the one who will deal with them. One who wants paradise will also want the good of humanity, since that is the way to heaven according to all religions. A lot of evil in this world is brought about by people who dont believe in heaven or hell thus not giving a damn as to their behaviour on the planet. But the answer to your question can vary from person to person. According to religion, both will lead you to heaven.
  7. A good post. Anyone who thinks all muslims are like the lunatics we hear from all the time is wrong, but that doesn't hide certain facts. And one of those is that as a religion it has far more angry, volatile, over the top and at times extremely violent reactions to any random slight they percieve. To challenge the view your religion is evil and hate filled by bombing churches, attacking a nun and holding mass protests round the world wanting the pope dead etc. because he mentioned some quote from years ago is just frightening! And that following on from attacks on all things Danish when they published some cartoons in a newspaper, and there are other examples which always result in mass angry protests. I hate all orgaised religions to be honest, but if somebody had come out and said the same comments about christianity you would probably have had a few priests on tv have a whinge and a few people getting mildly annoyed and probably not much else, particularly as the quote was from the bloody middle ages or soemthign like that! People who think all muslims are like that and think they are actually evil etc. would be morons, but anyone who doesn't think as a religion it has far more dangerous and over the top reactions than other religions and leads to more trouble these days are being naive. I mean when was the last time you can ever remember any catholics, protestants, jews, buddhists, mormons, quakers, jedis...etc. etc. going around burning, torching and destroying things and demanding the death of people who have insulted them, not very likely is it? And i don't like those religions either (except the Buddhists and Jedis of course!) but you don't see this same problem en masse with them. And as somebody mentioned earlier in the thread i found it amusing that the pope apologised since he's infalible and represents the will/word of god. He should be sacked tbh! Most christian these days openly say they dont give a damn about God. So I wouldnt expect much trouble from them if someone was to openly abuse the faith tomorrow. The religion is just about dead.... But you are right about certain muslims, they do overreact. Protests etc would be fine but burning churches is way over the top, and I will stress again, completely against the true teachings of Islam!! Again this religion is also going dead, most people calling themselves muslims havent even read the Quran and then this extremism thing is absolute madness. Islam does not tell people to go around killing people who've insulted them, in fact its tells them to show patience. Islam is not at fault, its them human beings.
  8. What the......where did you get that from?? Its says nothing of the sort. Only in self-defence. Thats what most people dont get. 9. Islam does mean peace. Its Arabic acutally. And killing nuns and burning churches is not fundamental Islam(as somebody called it earlier in the thread) for heavens sake. If you people were to do a bit of research before trying to be clever and passing on cheeky comments you would know that kind of thing is completely prohibited by Islam and anyone who does it is not a muslim although he may call himself that. These people are not extremists or 'fundamental muslims', they are people who are using Islam as a cover up to carry out whatever evil ambitions they've got, and the world just seems to be falling for their plot. They may be muslims by name, but Islam does not mean anything to them, so they'll gladly use it for their own purposes. Please acutally try and do a bit of research on something before passing a verdict on it, you and a few others obviously know nothing about Islam and base your opinions on whatever you read in papers and watch on the TV. Now people blowing themselves up in Iraq/Afghanistan is somewhat different. They are desperate, weak and largely helpless muslims who are trying to fight an invasion. Also, a few bomb blasts here and there makes muslims ruthless killers, but facts such as the US wiping out 50 000 people in Japan with a single bomb or the estimate that 60000-180000 people(most of them innocent) have been killed by western forces in Iraq and afghanistan thus far dont seem to bother many people.
  10. I'll have to stop you there, because that is bollocks. Im not criticizing the intentions of the Pope or the Vatican, they are still probably honest to their faith. But if you look around very few people actually look to them for guidance now, I mean the elections caused something of a stir but that was about it. Just like the Queen gets a mention on her birthday but hardly anybody takes them seriously apart from that. Its not just happening to Christianity, the same can be said about Islam. Hundreds of millions of people call themselves muslims, but I'd say almost half of them arent true ones anymore. They change laws as they like and ignore ones that dont suit them. However Islamic leaders still hold reasonable power in their countries. Everyone seems to have their own ideas as to God and faith. Religion, priests, holy books all are becoming less and less popular.
  11. Its not the muslim world, its some people that have been driven to desperation. The US and the west have been kicking around the rest of the world as they please, not just the muslims. The muslims, being week and largely helpless, have now resorted to these tactics in retaliation. The muslims are themselves partly to blame for this, they have lost pace in the world and are backward and thus cannot face the US and co. face to face. But the latter are wrong when thinking they have a holy right on the earth and can do whatever they please. That bred terrorism in the first place and the only way to stop it is accepting the muslims and other races as human beings.
  12. The vatican is saying that the pope didnt intend to hurt muslim feelings. And that comes after the pope said" Prophet Muhammed has only brought evil and inhuman things into the world". Dont blame them much to be honest, the vatican holds little importance these days and the pope is simply there as a historical figure, like the queen. They've got nothing better to do than to make these statements.
  13. Aye, I thought we could have easily gotten those two. But Roeder was apparently more interested in signing Sibierski. We can enjoy watching Bramble and Co. destroy any chances of success this season meanwhile.
  14. Any chance of a Keane led Sunderland versus a Shearer led Newcastle in a few years? I can see Roeder getting the sack and Big Al taking over, but I cant see Sunderland coming up by then
  15. Last season, I was team mates with a lad that used to play for West Allotment Celtic. He was dynamite. Explosive pace or muslim ??????????? Very Funny
  16. Any chance of one with all our new signings in it?
  17. True, and its not like he's way better than Rossi. I'd give the lad a chance anyway, with Sibierski coming on if the Martins/Rossi partenership doesnt work.
  18. Thought he was fantastic today for Boro, still gutted we didnt get him on loan. If Bramble had half the composure Woody showed today, we would have been celebrating 3 points.
  19. Quite right, if parker keeps on playing like this he'll be in the England squad no time. Plus I thought Emre was better today than hes been for quite some time. We had good possesion and created decent chances. Thats what drives me up the wall though, we dominate the whole game and hardly give them a sniff but what do you know we gift them two goals out of nothing. Typical Newcastle The whole team suffers just because one or two people keep on making the same mistakes again and again. So bloody frustrating!!!!!!
  20. You also said that only Henry could have scored the goal Luque scored against Lillestrom, so it's not like you never talk shit. 196080[/snapback] I dont want to start that debate all over again, but it seems funny to me that nobody mentioned even a remotely similar goal scored by a player in England. Anyway, dont you think I might have been slightly right about the defender thing?
  21. I feel somewhat sorry for him, can we really blame him for Bramble and Carr's stupidity? Im sure when he's talking to them he feels like he's trying to teach nuclear physics to a donkey.
  22. I had suggested before the season had started that finding a new CB was perhaps more important than a new striker, but I was completely bombarded with replies telling me how clueless and stupid I was. Well, go and and enjoy the season now lads.
  23. Dont know what Roeder will start but here is what I hope he will put out: ----------------Given------------------ Carr------Taylor-------Moore-------Bernard Duff-------Parker---------Emre--------N'Zogbia -------------Martins---------Rossi
  24. any idea of the transfer fee? surely not more than 200 or 300k? he's not a bad player me thinks, decent backup but he's nowhere near as good as what we wanted.
  25. Good to know the lad is this determined, to go along with his ability. Cant wait to see him in action today
