  1. are you kidding about sammy? he managed to get to the byline nearly everytime he picked it up he was a great outlet and ate up plenty of time at the end in doing so. as for the Marv v ben arfa argument, ben arfa was anonymous as a starter against blackburn while today marveaux was good, ran well, worked hard and looked a good player, Ben arfa isnt an out and out winger and pardew clearly isnt going to use him as one, the sooner people get this the better, other than his reputation why do people think ben arfa should be getting in automatically because it cant be based on performances All Im saying about Sammy is that he seems to have the same style as his brother. Not judging anyone on one game anyway. Why did Marveaux get in automatically? We've seen more of Bafra than we have of him. We know he is class, he showed that today, needs game time. If Obertan was playing, and with the not changing a winning side argument and all, I get it. But I dont see any reason why Marveaux got drafted in instead of Bafra. Anyway who's to argue with Pards at the moment, must have had a reason Because pardew will watch these players every day in training and, given our current run, deserves more respect for his decisions than people crying out for ben arfa to be shoehorned into any open attacking spot. Marveaux is also an actual winger being played on the wing Thats what I said at the end of my post. Mind you if we had had a different result today it might have been a bigger issue, but alls well that ends well. Just want to see Ben Arfa get playing time, because on form he is the best player we have imo, judging on the few games he has played for us. Needs to learn to pass it though, sometimes its as if he thinks he's bloody Messi.

  3. Thought Jonas was horrible going forward today, but fantastic at the back near the end especially when we were struggling. Amazing effort by Colo and co. again as well, hell never thought I'd see Newcastle defend like this! Needed a fair bit of luck for despite all that today though. Sammy seemed more like an Ameobi today than Shola does, legs all over the place! Just dont get why Ben Arfa didnt start today instead of Marveaux, not that Marveaux didnt do well, but given Obertan's injury it really should have been Ben Arfa into the team. That might have to do more with his disgruntlement than not getting into a winning team etc etc. Loving the way we are winning even when not playing too well, you could see half the lads were dead tired today but put in a great shift nonetheless! Long may it continue. Bring on City!
  4. Not a bad little read. We don't wanna get carried away though and I still think if we finish in top 7 it would be a great achievement. Nice to see Ba in the top five scorers. What website is this, seems interesting!
  5. Pulis' own tactics/actions blowing up in his face on so many levels tonight I actually feel a bit sorry for him.... No wait I dont what a bunch of pricks take that you knobheads try playing a bit of football maybe next time! And that using the towel for time wasting.... absolutely brilliant, enjoyed it as much as the goals!
  6. BA!!!!!!!!!! Obertan assist and off a cross lol!
  7. Unbelievable. We had a genuine base for something to build last season. A manager who was getting the best out of players, a team that though not extraordinary talented gave it their all and has some players around whom we could have built something decent in the future. But of course thats all too much for our sickeningly pathetic excuse of an owner. Installing a puppet manager, getting rid of the best players and destroying team spirit before the season even begins. Way to go Ashely!! Just wish we could do something but what?
  8. Seems to be the thing on everyone's mind! We'll survive this season but its not a big deal because there seems to be little hope of retaining our players in the summer, let alone adding quality ones.

  10. I think most of us expected these sorts of noises after the Carrol transfer, this was what everyone was worried about, more than Carroll's departure itself. I can imagine Ashely rubbing his hands together at the thought of the cash he can now get for the likes of Enrique and Tiote. Where we go from here I don't know!! We'll also probably see how good or otherwise Pardew is when players come and go in the summer. At the moment it seems to me the optimism and momentum built up under Hughton is carrying us. It will all disappear in the summer, along with our best players. Somebody do something!!!!

  12. Amazing moment, I didn't even know he had a decent left foot! Shame was I had to restrict myself from shouting like a madman because my Arsenal fan brother right next to me had stayed respectfully quite during the first half demolition. Thought I'd be a bit of an arse if I rubbed it in on him after that.
  13. Fully expect Tiote, Barton and Enrique to shipped off in the summer. And why do I get the horrible feeling that some sort of problem is soon going to occur in Barton's contract negotiations.
  14. Only a question of how much we can keep them down to. Would have actually looked forward to this game a couple of months back. Trying hard not have another rant at the arseholes who run this club, but there's so little else to talk about, we're screwed.
  15. Cant see anything but a relegation scrap at the moment, we have nothing to hang on to, no real positives to take out of this. Amazing how quickly things can change, but why do they always have to change for the worse where we are concerned. Was such a promising season, I think everyone was enjoying the way the team was playing even when we didnt get a good result. Well, thanks again Ashley, you're awesome.
  16. Carroll's transfer request was merely a formality in his departure. Don't be blinded into thinking a transfer request from Carroll obligated the club to sell him. That's not the way it works. It's much more likely that the club pressured Carroll into submitting a transfer request as it will have negated any loyalty payments that Carroll may have been due as part of his existing contract with us (if he was sold without the transfer request these would have had to be paid to Carroll by Ashley on his departure). The double benefit to the club was that they could hope that people would think that Carroll did legitimately put in a transfer request because he wanted to go somewhat limiting the blame some people would assign to them. This is not the case, so don't for a second buy into the nonsense. You're probably right, my point was, even if this not the case, can anybody really blame him for putting in the request considering how Ashley treated Hughton after the club seemed to be going places under him and that all the players stood by him? Why would a future England No.1 striker want to be at a club thats going nowhere.
  17. That. Wouldn't matter if we had gotten 80M, its wont be coming back into the team anyway. Cant see any real thing to be hopeful about in the future, where as a few months back there was a lot, thats what I'm pissed about. Fat Mike has once again successfully drained all the hope out of the club. Wonder how many of the players are thinking this to and preparing to pack their bags in the summer.
  18. I suppose the Carroll saga is being discussed in at least a dozen places at the moment but I'll just have my rant here, where the frick do we go now? I know the offer was too good to refuse and he'd put in a request and all that but we're still utterly screwed aren't we? And we all know the chances of that fat arse reinvesting the money in the summer even if we do stay up. A really promising season with Hughton at the helm, the brightest young striker in the league, and some other positives to take from the team, seems to be going down relegation fight road. Feeling utterly downcast, really pissed at AC, hope he has a worse time at Liverpool than Torres. Im still going to find a way to blame Ashley How many people think Hughton's departure and the generally accepted fact that we are going nowhere under Ashley had something to do with Carroll's transfer request?
  19. Pardew would simply be death by torture, that fat asswipe really really hates us doesnt he? Reading Enrique's comments today I wonder how the players will react to an appointment like this, Pardew may have lost the dressing room before actually putting a foot in it.
  20. Hello, been a long time, but after yesterday's events I just cant stay quiet anymore!! What an absolute disgrace this is!!
