  1. Glad to see some of you have replied in the typical manner Ive come to expect from you. The over ambition thing is a matter of opinion isnt it? Ive always felt expectations here have been way over the top, the way we thought we would win the league after finishing 3rd and 4th. We were never good enough to do that. There have been other reasons yes, incompetent chairman and manager and transfer mayhem, but to me overambition is in there as well. We seemed to think we have a holy right on trophies, always putting huge pressure on the management. Perhaps overambitious was the wrong word to use, but I feel expectations here have played a role in our downfall.
  2. So tell me,why wasnt this carried on to greater glory? What a silly question! There were a thousand reasons! The main one being our players werent good enough to win the title and that they were playing at their maximum! Despite all the good things we did at that time we were never as good as team like Man U or Arenal. Only an idiot would have expected us to win the league at the time. We needed to cement our position in the top 4 of England, instead we were over ambitious and ended up loosing even what we had.
  3. Finishing 3rd and 4rth and getting results against the likes of inter and juve! No hype to be honest, it was very real and it was great. loved every minute of it, what I wouldnt give now for those times to return
  4. 9 years? Things were pretty good until about 4 sessons ago!
  5. I understand as well as anyone how frustrating things are at the moment. But the crowds behaviour towards the team is almost becoming as pathetic as the team itself. There are anxious ooohs aaahs and general impatience from minute 1. Not to mention we get on the back of players like Bramble and that does thier confidence no good. Everybody knows what a clown he is but we can save it for after the game cant we? This is the time when the team needs its fans behind it, and we are doing completely the opposite! Its hard yes but its what should be done. We let out the frustration amongst ourselves, whats the point of letting the team know infront of the whole world that we hate thier guts! Want to protest agains the manager or the chairman, it should be done after or before games as a proper protest and not angry chants during the game that demoralise everyone. When a game starts, we should get completely behind the team so they can play with as much confidence as possible. At the moment we are a 12th man to the other team.
  6. Well, first of all I'd like to know what God has against us. Dont know how we didnt manage to score in the first 65 minutes. We were pathetic after that as usual, and what was more worrying than that part of the performance was Roeder's lack of passion or indeed lack of eagerness to try and change the game. He just sits there the whole 90 minutes with the same expression, waiting for things to happen. We all understand we've got injury problems and all that. When the commentator said during the game we had 5 first team payers out today apart from Owen and Given, I felt a wave of sympathy for Glen. How much can he do with 7 starting players out? But by the end of the game all the questions against him were back. Firstly his lack of passion stated above. Then the fact that he doesnt seem to be able to do anything about our teams tendency of completely fading away during the end of the game. Its happened in 80% of the games so far this season, yet its still happens the next game. How thick is our management? For the last half an hour or so most of our players looked tired and most lacked creativity and drive. It was obvious something needed to be done. The way the likes of Duff, Rossi, N'Zogbia and Solano struggled in the end, even the like of Luque might have freshened things up. Why werent he or Milner introduced(earlier in his case) when they couldnt have possibly done any worse than the current ones on the pitch? He could have even gone for 3 upfront and taken off somebody like Butt. I mean show some invention, some desire to get something for the game! The fact is this, he's proving game after game he's got no guts, no creativity as a manger and he cant correct some very obvious faults in the team. We know we're not enjoying the greatest luck at the moment, hitting the post in every game and all the injuries, but there's no excuse for the above facts. In a nutshell, Roeder is senile and is a dud. ROEDER OUT! SHEPHERD OUT!
  7. Yep, N'Zogbia and Dyer are more than okay in the centre provided they stay fit of course. Butt's been nothing but disappointing for us.
  8. Bloody hell its difficult enough scoring against them already
  9. Didnt read anything in the match reports. Surely would have gotten a mention if he'd elbowed the guy or something like that.
  10. Could have been a harder draw, but I still think its tricky. Its the kind of game you would expect them to be up for.
  11. Will probably get Liverpool away, but I wouldnt mind something like ManU or Arsenal at home
  12. we ended that season playing relatively bad football and it was looking bad. hindsight is wonderful but it was time for Robson to go. He should have gone before he actually did. The fact that since robson we've had a load of muppets has not helped. yeah lets blame a half-fit striker for martins etc going missing. good one. Martins was one of the brightest players on the pitch today for us. He wasnt great, but that tells you how pathetic the others were. And you speak as if Ameobi would have set the world on fire if he was fit, sorry but he just isnt a good player. In fact, he's rubbish. so rubbish he's scored 5 in a team that is doing NOTHING. but there is very little point in re-hashing the whole ameobi shit or not argument. He's practically crippled and playing through the pain barrier and runnign himself into the ground, in a team creating less than nothing yet has 5 goals. I'm one of the fans who don't think he should be a first choice striker for us at all, but christ he deserves some credit this season for what he's done and what he's put up with. I agree. He's played his heart out this season and I give him credit for that. But that still doesnt mean he would have turned the game on its head today.
  13. Roeder resigns, which gives Fat Fred a huge shock since he doesnt have any Geordie/English replacements lined up. Fat Fred chokes on his big mac on hearing the news, his face slips on the pen which was sitting on his desk, and he ends up cancelling the contracts of bramble, carr, ameobi and butt by accident(which he had been reviewing then). The backroom staff get so takenaback by the news that the players they've worked so hard now are gone, that they leave as well. We get rid of the rubbish

  15. Cant believe old fatwit fired Bobby for finishing 5th. It all started there.
  16. Just watched the goal on ESPN. Yakubu left unmarked on a corner. God, how stupid can we possibly get? Will we ever learn? Its just pathetic and embarrasing now. And did I mention, ROEDER OUT!!!!!
  17. Agreed. Welcome to another season of mediocrity. At this rate, it'll be relegation. Keeping that in mind, I'd almost take mediocrity.
  18. Relegation form. Roeder out to be honest
  19. Thats no knee jerk dude. Aye, ROEDER AND SHEPHERD OUT!!! Sorry, Ive lost it
  20. Its not a knee-jerk anymore. GET THE BASTIDS OUT OF HERE, WE"VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
