Fact we're having this discussion in this thread just as August is about to begin says it all about this window

Was waiting for somebody to bring that up, still the most disgraceful thing I've ever seen on a football pitch. Was trying to remember the guy in a fond way, now cant get past thinking what an absolute pair of twats the two of them are for doing what they did wearing the black and white in front of the whole world.

Ha, Wenger's post match comments are always priceless.
-
Nice to know we're not the only ones making a complete fool out of ourselves
-
Remember a particularly good performance against Southampton in the FA Cup where he scored a cracking solo goal.
-
Niang would be incredible, and just what we need. Which is why it will never happen.

Oh dear the back is horrid! Just when I had convinced myself to start liking the front....

Blackpool 0-1 Newcastle United (not from a CORNER!!!!)

Aye I thought he looked promising at times too. Simpson and Perch gone along with James so does that mean we're signing a backup RB? Now that I think of it Anita or Santon will fill in with Haidara coming in at the left. -

Bloody hell, hearing we scored from a corner I go looking up links of the goal from somewhere. When I finally manage to find one it turns it only RESULTED from a corner -
Its all very subjective, something that Andrew was trying to say above. They had the money from the Cavani sale. If he can get them 20-25 goals they'll be happy and consider the money well spent. Didnt Wenger lose out on Mata because he was unwilling to spend the extra 2M that Chelsea were?
-
Im surprised they've lost out on Higuain. Much more stable option than Suarez, cheaper, and will probably score more goals. I get it that Suarez has more flair and that ability to make something out of nothing but its a proven goalscorer that Arsenal really need.
-
Aye generally but to be fair in this case most would agree the player isnt worth more than what we've bid for him.
-
Yup, I hope thats rubbish because Spurs would probably utilize most of that money. Unlike a certain 35M deal we know of, oh well........
-
I suppose thats what you get thought for leaving it this late when everyone knows how desperate we are. Good job again club management.
-
Sheesh, no way should we bid more than 7M for him. Lyon can piss right off.
-
From the Sun: Real Madrid will offer Tottenham £51million cash, £25million-rated Angel Di Maria and £19million Fabio Coentrao in a bid to land Gareth Bale in a world-record £95million deal. I'd snap their hands off if that were true.
-
Thats the key point isnt it. Lets hope they are. You can add Anita to that list too.
-
Okay, problem there's a lot of youngsters we're relying on there. Based on last season's evidence it just doesnt fill me up with confidence. Least we need to do is get a Perch type versatile player who can play in 2-3 positions.

Someone pacey, who can run the channels, a bit younger too preferably. The longer this goes on of course the more clubs will try to hold us to ransom. Why dont we ever learn ffs.
-
I agree with Ant though, considering we'll be paying 7-8M for someone of his age and past record, surely there are other options out there. Its gotten to that point now though that it'll be a relief to have anyone is, at least he cant be worse than Shola.
-
Should be ideal for that floated free kick routine then.
-
We thought the same with Ferguson/Tavernier/Bigi last season. One of them playing at a time might be able to hold his own, but if we get a a few players injured together and have to chuck in 2 or 3 of the young lads together at once we'll struggle just as same last season.
