Agreed, squad size was a problem last season and we have actually less numbers now. Okay so we arent in Europe this year but there's going to be serious problems again unless Tavernier and co are suddenly deemed ready for this level.

So after Bony to Swansea, Southampton sign Wanyama.

All of which again has to do with our top management. I just didnt get the idea of finishing outside of a European place only so we could challenge for the European place again next season. Had we strengthened the squad properly we would have done so again regardless of where we'd finished last time around.

Djokovic seemed below par, and the tournament seemed a bit empty to me without Nadal and Federer in the latter stages. But you cant take anything away from Murray. He was up for it today. I'd be gutted if Cabaye went, despite some of the below par performances last season. The reasons for some of our best players failing to perform last season have been discussed at length already. He's a class act we're not likely to replace him with anyone near as good anyway.
