I agree with Ant though, considering we'll be paying 7-8M for someone of his age and past record, surely there are other options out there. Its gotten to that point now though that it'll be a relief to have anyone is, at least he cant be worse than Shola.

We thought the same with Ferguson/Tavernier/Bigi last season. One of them playing at a time might be able to hold his own, but if we get a a few players injured together and have to chuck in 2 or 3 of the young lads together at once we'll struggle just as same last season.

Its just silly, and something we've discussed time and time again. We just need a bit of a push to be competing for top 5. Its not like Ashley has to provide it out of his own pocket either considering the TV money etc. If we would just go out and spend 10-12M on a proven defender or something like that in addition to the strikers. Not asking much considering the above situation. But the fat man just wont budge. So given that I'd be absolutely bloody delighted if we got both Gomis and Remy. Its what we need, anything apart from that would be showing ambition which is just not be expected here any more.

Any little slip up up and until the time we sign a few players is inevitably going to be accompanied by heralds of doom and gloom, because it'll just be adding to the tension of the window and seen as a direct consequence of not strengthening. Any slip ups after we've signed a couple of players will invariably be because it will take some time for them to gel together

20th July ffs. Havent even replaced the squad players that have left. For all the talk of a weak squad last season, here we are worse off with no signs of fixing it. Let alone the striking crisis. Fully expect a couple of last minute panic buys that where we'll pay thrice the amount a shite player's value.

Important? Colo's the most important one for me. Makes players around him look twice as good as they are and everything seems to fall apart when he's not there. So Im not sure about most important, but yeah he's definitely the most talented and dangerous player we've had for a long while.

Agreed, squad size was a problem last season and we have actually less numbers now. Okay so we arent in Europe this year but there's going to be serious problems again unless Tavernier and co are suddenly deemed ready for this level.
