  1. Just ridiculous, clubs needing strikers a lot less than us are shelling out big money for them while we wait for God knows what chasing have beens like Bent. Absolutely bloody depressing. Despite knowing what happened last summer, and despite knowing who runs this club, I still thought we'd have gotten in someone by now.
  2. I understand that, but I dont mind city life at all, at least not yet. At the moment I think its got more to do with having adolescent dreams of 'making a difference' being shattered and realising 90% of us are just paper pushing slaves
  3. Dont want to get started on the Marveaux debate again, but there's something definitely wrong when a player cant be involved in a game for more than a total of 10 minutes. Cant see him being anything more than an impact sub. Hope he proves me wrong.
  4. "He would talk to me like I was the best player in the world and I went out at St James’ Park feeling like I was going to play like the best player in the world. I am 5ft 6 or 5ft 7ins tall but I am telling you this: when I put that kit on and I was standing in that tunnel with Bobby Robson, I felt like I was Didier Drogba." - Craig Bellamy."
  5. "On the fourth anniversary of his death, let's take a look back at some of the greatest words spoken by one of the greatest men to walk the earth. A true ambassador for football and sport in general, everyone loved Sir Bobby Robson and there was not a fan in the country that didn't show their respects when he passed away on 31st July 2009." http://www.ftbpro.com/posts/kevin.blundell/303109/sir-bobby-robson-s-greatest-quotes
  6. Whoa, always nice to meet other fans with no real connection to Newcastle Welcome to the board, we'll be mightily pissed if you turn out to be a mackem. And btw we have Mbiwa ahead of Williamson in the pecking order.
  7. Is it wrong that I just turned 25, am in the fourth year of what is considered the 'dream job' starting out in my profession, and am already thinking about this? Once I thought its just because I work in the insanely exciting finance industry but as it turns out it seems most people have similar thoughts.
  8. John Terry the night before the cup final?
  9. Fact we're having this discussion in this thread just as August is about to begin says it all about this window
  10. Was waiting for somebody to bring that up, still the most disgraceful thing I've ever seen on a football pitch. Was trying to remember the guy in a fond way, now cant get past thinking what an absolute pair of twats the two of them are for doing what they did wearing the black and white in front of the whole world.
  11. Ha, Wenger's post match comments are always priceless.
  12. Nice to know we're not the only ones making a complete fool out of ourselves
  13. Remember a particularly good performance against Southampton in the FA Cup where he scored a cracking solo goal.
  14. Niang would be incredible, and just what we need. Which is why it will never happen.
  15. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1718341-the-30-most-ridiculous-quotes-of-the-summer-transfer-window-2013-so-far/page/31 Thats a fun read there Cheers Joe for doing us proud!
  16. Oh dear the back is horrid! Just when I had convinced myself to start liking the front....
  17. Aye I thought he looked promising at times too. Simpson and Perch gone along with James so does that mean we're signing a backup RB? Now that I think of it Anita or Santon will fill in with Haidara coming in at the left.
  18. Bloody hell, hearing we scored from a corner I go looking up links of the goal from somewhere. When I finally manage to find one it turns it only RESULTED from a corner
  19. Its all very subjective, something that Andrew was trying to say above. They had the money from the Cavani sale. If he can get them 20-25 goals they'll be happy and consider the money well spent. Didnt Wenger lose out on Mata because he was unwilling to spend the extra 2M that Chelsea were?
  20. Im surprised they've lost out on Higuain. Much more stable option than Suarez, cheaper, and will probably score more goals. I get it that Suarez has more flair and that ability to make something out of nothing but its a proven goalscorer that Arsenal really need.
  21. Aye generally but to be fair in this case most would agree the player isnt worth more than what we've bid for him.
  22. Yup, I hope thats rubbish because Spurs would probably utilize most of that money. Unlike a certain 35M deal we know of, oh well........
  23. I suppose thats what you get thought for leaving it this late when everyone knows how desperate we are. Good job again club management.
  24. Sheesh, no way should we bid more than 7M for him. Lyon can piss right off.
