  1. Brentford just gave up after the first goal, we weren't doing so well before that. Been proper quality since though
  2. Ooof, that looked on but the line says no quality from Isak in the final third again though
  3. Aye terrible pass, and agreed if that's Dubravka that's a goal Ffs Joe channeling the Bruce days there
  4. Gordon is a massive miss but happy with that team. Hopefully Barnes is up for it. Isak on the left and Wilson up front is always an option if it's not working.
  5. Rumours of Isak on the bench too. We're going to struggle to create anything without those two. Hope Schar, Joe and Pope are able to start.
  6. You could ask him what the ET eh? of his punchline is.
  7. I get what you're saying, I myself have questioned how wise our transfer dealings last summer were. That's all in hindsight and down to the terrible luck we've had this season though. They were all transfers that improved the quality of the squad. Kelly is likely cover, not a Botman replacement. Given how well the back 4 did last season and how with injuries they've struggled this time around, it's clear we need better quality backup. Upgrading Schar can wait a season or two, he's been absolute quality. That's where Tosin might come in once Howe has worked his magic on him. Also they're both free transfers aren't they? I'm pretty sure Barnes was not a Gordon upgrade. He mainly plays on the left so if anything he was an ASM replacement with Gordon the flexible option up top.
  8. Right, so better backup than Lascelles in that sense too.
  9. You need your forwards to be confident but if Wilson thinks he's going to be the main man over Isak he's delusional. And that's before his fitness record comes into the picture. If Trips really has issues as well I hope Bayern or somebody else are still willing to pay the 12M or so. Tino seems to be ready to take over, but despite the last few months Trippier has easily been one of the top players I've seen play for us. Proper world class at times. Will be sad if he does go.
  10. Agreed on Ramsdale, I think Pope is a better keeper overall. Who have we bought that's not been an upgrade? Tino and Hall were clearly long term buys. Tonali and Barnes are significant upgrades on ASM and Longstaff had they been available to play regularly. Kelly is probably a Lascelles replacement. Tosin looks very good at times, Howe could easily mould him into a quality Schar replacement.
  11. Is Mark Douglas related to chicken nonce?
  12. There's hardly any insights in that article about the summer or anything else Just a lot of they should be doing this or that pretty much what you or I could have written about moving on some players etc. Sheesh
  13. Yeah, and that leads you to the fear for next season. We have no idea how much we're able to spend without selling this summer, maybe nothing? Most of the players on your list above dont have significant sell on value. That's why I've been saying that hopefully someone at the club is smartly working to market Miggy, Wilson etc. Going to have to be extraordinarily clever in the market unless there's something in the accounts we don't know.
  14. Read somewhere Tino is out for Brentford, chance for Trippier to redeem himself. Maybe score from a freekick or two. Joe and Pope should absolutely be starting. I don't think I can stomach any more of Dubravka, I used to think we had a decent backup keeper but he's proven that to be spectacularly wrong. This has been a strange season, on the whole I think we've done really well under the circumstances. But on the other hand we seem to have reverted to the old Newcastle at times, full of individual errors and brain farts at the worst possible times. Upgrading some players will help with that but you also have to hope everyone has learnt something from this season. Looking forward to the next one already, our luck surely has to improve, then again we've already lost Botman for at least half of it so who knows.
  15. Look now, our players are a civilized bunch and they behave like grown ups because they are led by Eddie Howe. I'm telling you, he was absolutely seething.
  16. Howe did sound his frustration at it at least. Gordon seething in the post match interview and this Bruno tweet: Let it all out against Brentford lads and finish above these thundercu**s
  17. Howe being Howe wont probably comment on it, but the club should be asking for the audio at the very least. Make some noise man, it's absolutely disgraceful.
