Seriously? Have nothing against the guy but that would be plain ridiculous!
-
You could look at it either way, we were failing at retaining the ball or at making two proper passes in a row in the second half. A decent spell of possession up front might have meant less work at the back. Its all hypothetical though. Im not saying Ben Arfa should have been brought on today, I wouldnt have if I was the manager. But in general Ive always been of the view in situations like these you need someone good on the ball who can release the pressure off the back. Its great when you're able to defend a 1 goal lead but with the quality of attack in the league these days those days will be far and few in between.

Really? We needed someone to hang onto the ball desperately in the second half. He's one of the few we've got who can. Krul kept us in it today, wont happen every time.

Superb first half. Rubbish second. Well not defensively, but we've got to learn to keep the ball in pressure situations. Loved our pressing on the ball for the goal, almost Dortmund-esque. What a wonderful little buy Gouffran has proved to be, fantastic all round player And the effect Debuchy is having on our defence cannot be underestimated. Wasnt too long ago you could see the 'Simpson is a better defender than Debuchy' comments here 6 points against Chelsea and Spurs. Didnt see it coming after the mackem game! Lets hope we can maintain the intensity in the upcoming fixtures! Delighted about today

Shola starting I now fully expect this to be the game Spurs' attack finally gels together

I wonder what the atmosphere in the dressing room is like after incidents like these. Do team mates congratulate you or is there any genuine shame at cheating in front of millions of people.
-
Sums up his career here to be honest. If the manager genuinely believes the team is more balanced without Ben Arfa in it then fair enough. I have little doubt though that we'll need him to get us out of some sticky situations again before too long.

Just watched the MOTD highlights. That was class from Anita in the build up to our second. Didnt know he had that in his locker
-
Yeah but its nothing we already dont know. Makes our half arsed performances all the more frustrating.

I moved Debuchy out to the bench and Ivanovic and Cech in Not complaining
-
Freakin impossible team this Was out so couldnt watch it today but it sounds like we really stepped it up in the second half. Also seems Debuchy had a stormer again, really pleased for the lad as he's taken a lot of stick here. Not going to complain about anything today after a result like this, credit where its due, well done team

I think they'll do ok if they remain patient.

Probably true about our coaching staff being rubbish too. There cant be many other explanations for players that have played together for a reasonable time now being this clueless and incoherent.
-
Nah apparently they just didnt get behind the team, he likened it to playing away.
-
AVB's had a right go at the Spurs fans apparently. Spot on too considering where they are in the table, the amount they spent in the window, the manager they have etc etc. Spoiled little pricks

Joe Hart What an absolute blow that must be to Man City who on the whole shaded it imo, cracking goal from Aguero as well.
-
Aye I often wonder how different things would be if we had even one of Nolan and Barton still at the club.

Putting Cisse on the wing to keep Ba happy has to be one of the worst managerial decisions ever. I mean, did he not know, which player had the buy out clause in his contract?- 10610 replies

I said somewhere in this thread before the game I hoped Tiote and Cabaye would keep their lids on. Always had the tendency to bottle it in games like these.
-
Why would Ashely do that? We are tenth. Thats more than good enough for him.

We were caught out, it was a silly challenge. Im not blaming Tiote for the defeat, he was better than most, but he never seems to learn that there are times when you just cant give stupid free kicks away.
