Buying players on the cheap and then selling them when they're in a position to take the club forward is a pretty shit policy, even if it is 'applied consistently". Its a typical mid table, zero ambition going nowhere club policy and its unacceptable. There's a difference between buying smart and doing what we do.

Picks the ball up in his usual leisurely stride in his own half, realises there's 3-4 players around him but space ahead, so thinks "well, fuck this I'll just score" and launches himself forwards. If he did come here, I can see him going down exactly the same road as Gouffran. All the thrust and spark will be gone in a couple of months.

Williamson and Dummet ffs Cabaye by miles, followed by Remy, Debuchy and Tiote. Sissoko deserves credit for being the only one looking to create something after Cabaye's departure. (At some point didnt he top the stats for creating the most goalscoring opportunities in the league or something like that?). Still, I think he's only a shadow of the player he could be under better management.
