  1. If he did come here, I can see him going down exactly the same road as Gouffran. All the thrust and spark will be gone in a couple of months.
  2. Williamson and Dummet ffs Cabaye by miles, followed by Remy, Debuchy and Tiote. Sissoko deserves credit for being the only one looking to create something after Cabaye's departure. (At some point didnt he top the stats for creating the most goalscoring opportunities in the league or something like that?). Still, I think he's only a shadow of the player he could be under better management.
  3. For a long time I was one of those in favor of sticking with Pardew because we cant hope to get anyone better under Ashley, and I thought he was trying to make the best of a bad situation. However his absolutely disgusting comments this season; hanging out players for sale prior to the January window, all but conceding defeat before the games have even begun, comparing us to Southampton as if they were fucking Real Madrid, etc etc etc have made me realize the man is no better than Ashley himself. Negative influence on the squad I suppose (read as 'resistance to being Pardewed')
  4. That people are picking on Pardew and his boss just because its the 'in thing' at the moment
  5. Takes me back to the days of Alan Smith. I used to say we should offer clubs a couple of million quid to take him off our hands.
  6. Santon for Enrique hasnt worked out as hoped. I still have hopes for Santon but Enrique was a lot more solid defensively (should be remembered the former is not left footed though). Anyway we were never going to hang on to him once Liverpool came calling so I get your point. At least we replaced him with a promising prospect. Like someone was saying on another thread, the fact Shola is still here and the murmurings that we may actually be bloody giving him another contract really sums up the farce that we are at the moment.
  7. We got the cheaper option to stay. Better for the balance sheet and all Also, this means he had a little bit of ambition on him, so there was obviously no place for him here. Anyway, its not like he would have made a major difference this season. It does point towards how much attention we give to having a proper squad though.
  8. Football authorities are a joke. Blatter, Platini......and then Sunderland seemingly getting way with what is blatant cheating. A no nonsense figure at the head of the FA/UEFA would do the game the world of good.
  9. Aye was thinking that the other day. Decent squad player.
  10. Ryan Taylor will be a like a new signing though to be fair
  11. I also thought Tavernier's looked decent the few times Ive seen him play. Not enough game time to say whether he'll be a success of any sort of course but I'd rather keep him than the likes of Dummett.
  12. Hurray. Top 8 ambitions, new 5 year contract for Shola. Cant wait!
  13. Thats my damn avatar! Oh, and so much for my fears about us handing them the title
  14. What are the chances of us letting 6 or 7 slip by and handing them the title

  16. We knew this was going to happen as soon as Cabaye left and wasnt replaced. I wake up each day dreading about hearing Shola being offered a new contract.
  17. Btw can anyone fill me in on how to embed twitter posts here? That time stamp thing doenst seem to be working anymore
  18. This happening would be just bloody brilliant after the last few weeks they've had
