  1. Judging by Guehi's performances so far this season maybe Mitchell was into something.
  2. Thing is, anyone who's worked at a big corporate, especially a successful or ambitious one, knows you have to get along and make do with people you don't like or agree with. Pretty basic stuff isn't it? If Howe and Mitchell are grown up professionals then they find a way to work together and it seems to me that was what Howe was indicating, but all the shite stirrers want to paint this picture of a looming disaster at the first sign of irritation. This kind of stuff is expected in organisations changing and growing at the speed Nufc are. I'm not saying the likes of Hope and Edwards are making it all up, rather it's the evident delight and revel in their writing that's a bit pathetic. As if they lost and miss the crumbs of destruction of the perpetually self destructing club we used to be. I don't pay them much mind, but when their work does get the clicks its designed for and occassionally ends up in front of you throwing a little CUNT or TWAT at it is certainly not amiss. If Howe does end up leaving I'll certainly wet my pants a bit but then it'll only show he's not ready to put on the big boy pants someone in charge of this team now has to. At the moment I think and hope he's got the guile to ride this out.
  3. We already knew there's a bit of friction between management, and they'll work it out. So the only real takeway from this is a reminder of what an utter cretin Craig Hope is
  4. Something I try to keep explaining to my arab/muslim friends here many of whom seem to think voting for Trump is punishing Biden for the Gaza genocide. While the democrats definitely need to be accountable for that Trump really isn't the answer to any question ffs
  5. Ah that explains it, poor lad can't but help old habits so now he just cuts it back 80 metres towards his own goal.
  6. Mitchell has come in at a bad time and left with having to burden the blame for a pathetic window. I get his comments in that context, it's the sort of thing you'd expect from a top exec who's used to being successful. If they can make it work, having two or more powerful characters with strong opinions can be a good thing for any company. If Howe does decide to walk then he will have shown he's not ready for the top level yet because he has to learn to work in these power corridors, whether it's with Mitchell or someone else. As for Mitchell himself of course it's too early to judge. I like the fact he's being straight about things that need to change, that's what he was brought in for. We're reading too much into his comments about Howe and England as well. It's part of his job to be prepared for the manager's exit. I hope Eddie stays here for many years, but things can change very very quickly in football and any club should have a plan for when their manager leaves. It would be completely stupid for the club to say 'all our plans depend on Eddie staying and we're in the shit if he takes the Englang job so we will beg him to stay, that's the plan'.
  7. Just the kind of brilliant regulation you're looking from the authorities; no need to focus on football but delve into real estate and other manner of things to run your business. By this logic, can we pour cash into the club use it to buy appreciating properties and then sell them later for profits? Make it a proper business model. Just like academy players are traded now. Or will that be unacceptable once someone outside the 'big 6' starts doing it.
  8. Is Gemmill from Hawai? Because we keep coming up with genuinely funny stuff and all it gets out of him is a low-ha
  9. Why did the lawyer decide to participate in the local chess championships even though he wasn't very good at it? Because he believed in the power of a tourney
  10. Absolute shocker of a summer. Many of the justifications given have some weight to them but if you had asked anyone at the start of June how many first team players we will sign most of us would have said 2-3, some might have cautioned realism and said 1-2. Absolutely no one would have thought zero first team signings. No more point crying over it I suppose. Over to Howe to provide more miracles, and pray absolutely pray that we dont get injuries to Isak and Bruno because if that happens we are a mid table outfit.
  11. Fact we left it till the last day was a bit desperate wasn't it? It could have clearly gone tits up which is why Gordon was being touted. I get why we had to move along Minteh and Anderson, probably the best we could do in the circumstances, but the last day scramble just shows you we aren't as sorted out as we'd come to expect.
  12. Aye, this was evidenced by the last minute PSR scramble, and now the same thing is repeating on deadline day. Didn't learn much in 2 months did we, you just hope they get their act together from here on. First time since the takeover you feel like we've gone backwards.
  13. Personally I think we'll Elinger on it too long
  14. You can think the shitty window is justified or perhaps inevitable, might not be correct but of course you can think it. But you can't expect people to be happy about it man Its okay to whinge once in a while, let the steam out That of course, as always, excludes the Twitter numpties who are not worth the time whatever the situation.
  15. And yet you wonder why we think he's a cant
  16. PSR, some players don't want to leave, some dont want to come, for some positions there maybe aren't such great options. All valid points to an extent yet all clubs operate in the same market and have made moves. It's also hard to believe that we're not signing people just because there's noone better available when you've got the likes of Almiron, Murphy, Longstaff, Krafth regularly featuring in the first team Leadership turmoil has been clear to see this summer; from Eddie voicing his frustration to the shambles of a manner we dealth with PSR last minute. It has clearly cost us. If we dont sign anyone tomorrow its a clear failure and perhaps the first backwards step under this ownership. I'm not saying that by itself would be a crisis or cause to panic; just disappointing. We'd have to pray for great luck with injuries to have a chances at Europe; I think we can safely write off a CL challenge if the squad stays the same. Far cry from all the talk of trophy challenges and CL pedigree.
  17. Thats conjecture from Craig freaking Hope though All summer we've been hearing that we have a list of targets and backups for Guehi that we are preparing to move on, now it's suddenly that he was the only one? Riiiiight
  18. We keep coming back to this but exactly what the hell can they do unless PSR changes? Hire Klopp and say "We'll likely be selling Gordon and Isak this summer, but don't worry as we'll get you Burnley's reserve goalkeeper and that defender Leceister don't want. Good luck winning the league" Howe can't be held accountable for transfers, if this window is a failure Eales and others are to blame whether it's PSR mismanagement or failing to land top targets.
  19. Same feeling here, I really did think we'd sign 2-3 players in the last week but there's barely a day to go and we've not done shite. You can talk all you want about PSR etc yet all teams above and below us have found ways to strengthen while we have sold our best young players. Some look for the project this.
  20. At this point they might do it purely out of desperation as we dont seem to be close to anyone else and we certainly dont seem well placed to sell the players we've been trying to sell for the last 3 years to fund another signing. As has been said elsewhere the club really needs to pull something out of the bag here; not just for strengthening the squad but for the optics of the 'project'.
  21. Halal restaurant recommendations. Now this is the kind of quality content we need more of here
