  1. I bet they're too busy pulling their families out of rubble to be honest.
  2. Thing is with another 2-3 good players we could have a great squad. But I dont expect Ashley to go for that. He'll sign a striker probably but thats about it. It'll be infuriating, being on the verge of something potentially great but afraid to take the next step. Much like the summer we finished 5th. People saying we'd be relegation fodder at the end of May were being dramatic. The fat man has learned to at least invest enough to keep us away from that sort of trouble.
  3. Not signing a CB will be such a dampener on the upcoming season. Whats the point of the likes of Cabella upfront when you've got Williamson and bloody Taylor at the back?
  4. But considering Ashley splashed out 7M for Mbiwa why would he want to offload right now unless Pardew told him he thinks he's shite?
  5. Aye, if we send him out and dont get another CB in we'll be asking for trouble. Still shocked at how little confidence we're showing in him given the chances he's had.
  6. 'Near the shelter'. They were given exact coordinates of the shelter and they still hit it. Load of baloney. If they arent doing this deliberately then the only other explanation is that they have really crappy targeting systems which I doubt.
  7. The solution to this lies in Israel stopping its horrendous occupation and blockade of land that does not belong to them. And yes, while I agree firing rockets into civilian territories cannot be condoned, you have to wonder what 60 years of illegal occupation, blockade and murder can do to the mind. There might be arseholes on both sides at the moment but the fault here lies very squarely with Israel, unless of course you choose to see this conflict as starting when Hamas fired the first rocket some weeks back. I dont for a minute believe Israel is concerned about civilians, I wouldnt be surprised if they were targeting them deliberately either. The article above and those posted on the previous page explain my point of view on this better than I myself ever could.
  8. Ashley's investment finally bearing fruit
  9. Its said an Englishman once remarked, after trying the local cuisine, that he now completely understood why people here use water I once tried wiping off bird crap off the windscreen by using the wipers only, not ever trying that again
  10. I suppose it depends on what you've been doing since as a child Not soaking your clothes comes naturally with practice, you could always put them aside if its that much of a problem. Use tissues for drying up. The concept of not using water is just so well......icky...
  11. No laughing matter but this is one of the most brilliant and funnies things i've read in a while  http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/of-course-there-are-going-to-be-casualties-when-gazans-selfishly-insist-on-living-in-civilian-areas-9612620.html
  12. Water Dont think I could ever just wipe and walk off feeling normal

  14. Tired of hearing that argument. Its what you believe if you only watch the BBC or Sky. Or if you believe this conflict started some weeks back.
  15. Its crazy. They might not have gone for him had Barca not signed Suarez.
  16. That panel on the back ............ Would have been a decent shirt without it....
  17. I wouldn't, not for ManU anyway. Cant believe Barcelona arent in for him, considering they need defensive reinforcements. They need his height and power too. 16M would be an absolute snip as well. Is his contract up next year or something? Because I cant think of a better CB these days, apart from Thiago and Kompany perhaps.

Aye. Good old days. I've never even posted that much but I remember how delighted I was to initially discover other NUFC fans on the internet Always have time for people from those days. Except for Gemmil of course who was rude and chased me off iirc. Good on Cat for getting people's message across. Cant believe Ive completely missed that thread. Btw, asian loony? Really? New found respect for Dr Gloom
  20. Over 100 hundred dead in a day. Just utterly ridiculous, as is the BBC coverage of the issue. Total dead children over 100 too now ffs. This is genocide and the world is silent. The fact the general population worldwide seems to be protesting on the roads gives me encouragement there's still some hope for humanity.
  21. Yup. I dont think Carroll is anywhere near the sort of player he looked like he could be before he moved to Liverpool. 15M is steep for him.
