  1. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/sport-opinion/what-mike-ashley-up-newcastle-8189464 Nothing like getting your hopes up after a decent month or two
  2. Here we go: “It’s a great boost because we have had a terrible run of injuries and it’s testament to the squad that we have had a great run of results.” http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tim-krul-could-miss-month-8187689?
  3. Terrible terrible news Absolute freak accident too. Hope this Abbot lad is able to pull through, everybody can continue to tell him it wasnt his fault, and logically he'll know it too. But you cant stop the mind from wandering under such circumstances.
  4. If a player thinks he's been treated well at a certain club and tones down the celebration as a mark of respect, I dont see anything wrong with it. Nothing wrong the with opposite scenario either, celebrating against a former team you feel you need to prove a point against. Perhaps not in a Adebayor-esque way though.
  5. Which is why some of us are terrified he may find himself on the wing again
  6. Nothing special but he's been an important part of our little rejuvenation imo with the pressing and high energy game we've taken to. Still tempting to put Sissoko in his place and De Jong further up and see how that works out.
  7. Abied and Colback dont deserve to be dropped on current form. Cant play 4 central midfielders. December coming up so it shouldnt be much of a problem rotating the squad a bit.
  8. None and Wiiliamson. So I could ask him about how to make a living on something you're so obviously dreadful at.
  9. Has CT just disappeared or was he banned or something?
  10. He had that one game against Chelsea were he was caught out and destroyed for lack of pace. Other than that, he was alright. Might have been an above average player, perhaps in the role he started in against QPR, if not for the injuries.
  11. Guordiola's teams are like machines. They've won everything there is and still seem hungrier than anyone else. Would be really interesting to see what he's able to do with a less start studded team.
  12. ---------Abeid--------- --Cabella---Sissoko---Aarons-- ----------De Jong---------- On current form Colback and Sammy ought to be in there. The only real certainty in that is Sissoko, you could make a case for any of the others.
  13. Saw the footage, he stood still for a minute and you think he's okay, then suddenly collapses. Quite horrifying.
  14. I know this ought to make me happy but its giving me horrifying images of Sissoko playing on the right again.
  15. Yeah, fair points. I was assuming that we'd only loan to a suitable club, or that whoever came in for them would have done their homework. No one planning on playing hoof ball would be much interested in a slight 17 year old. In Roberts' case, if he's as good as is being touted, someone might be willing to take a punt on him, on the off chance he's able to play a Zaha type role for them. I understand that thats more likely to happen a year or two down the line though.
  16. We've seen the likes of Armstrong and Campbell make cameo appearances without it doing much good for team or player. Other than the confidfence boost for the kid of course. I'd rather they go out on loan to a Championship club and play proper competitive football.
  17. On current form? De Gea Ivanovic Kompany Cahill Azpilacueta (wont even try properly spelling that) Fabregas Sissoko Tadic Hazard Sanchez Aguero Never get tired of doing that for some reason. Probably missed a few performers, someone from West Ham perhaps. Tough one between Costa and Aguero.
  18. Its there for the taking. January will tell to a great extent who's willing to take a risk and put their name in the hat. Im waiting for Pardew to start reminding us that we signed 7 players in the summer and that we have a pretty strong squad these days.
  19. If we had the owner with ambition or vision to see this, we would have done it 2 years ago. You could say perhaps Ashley will learn, but I gave up on that notion a while back.
  20. The good thing about Sammy and Cabella yesterday was that they seem to have worked on cutting out the naivety that was prevalent in earlier games. Comes with experience I suppose. Perez is learning very quickly, drew in Dunn a couple of times yesterday and did him with trickery to get the foul. Proper centre forward play that had been missing in previous games. Very lively in and around the box. Still think we're creating far too few proper scoring chances against the likes of this opposition, at home as well. Has something to do with the team structure but might improve once the top 3 develop a better understanding.
