    We can at least hope the new guy isn't a total prick though. So I'm celebrating for the time being. I don't think player transfers got to him. It was probably the constant criticism from us and the fact he'll get more money and respect at palace. Until they get relegated that is.

    Fair few were set pieces iirc. Im not saying he was bad. Just hasnt been able to light games up the way he could before, which obviously was to be expected with age. And I dont think thw whole DM thing worked out too well for him, great passer but he was caught out of position a lot of the time and with the likes of Coutinho not tracking back regularly its cost them.

    Mary Jane's incessant shrieking throughout the series didnt help. And half the series seemed to rotate around the lack of attention Spidey wasnt giving her and her stupid play. FFS. I know they were perhaps trying to depict the human issues faced by super heroes but this was utterly silly. There are soaps for the type of things they got into.

    Its the same case as with players, the best we can hope for is someone relatively unknown from the continent manages to shine and lead us to a couple of decent years before moving on to bigger things.

    Aye if Carver's in charge till the summer then I wouldnt want him backed in this window, we'd struggle regardless. Of course, Ashley could go for a decent manager now, back him in the market so that he can use the remainder of the season to build his team for next season. But thats the more ambitious, risky and exciting option so it'll never happen. Thats what I was getting at.

    Knowing our luck, the fact the Palace board will probably back him in the market given the timing of this, the fact Ashley wont, and we'll have Carver in charge till the summer; at the moment its not completely inconceivable that they'll finish above us
