  1. Mackems drawing away. Palace with that prick winning at Stamford Bridge, almost there. What a crappy day of football
  2. Who the hell said that? Whatever happened to form is temporary, class(or lack of it) is permanent.
  3. We'll probably just shoot ourselves in the foot again. Frustrating as hell this. What an absolutely incompetent attention seeking dickhead Mariner is. Ought to be axed for a performance like this.
  4. Said it after the Janmaat red. This club is going to be a shambles no matter what. Ridiculous stuff
  5. One good performance overrules years of inconsistency and clownery? When we know both Janmaat and Mbemba are overall much better players there's no point keeping them out.
  6. Thought he'd gone to West Ham permanently but apparently the moves run into some issues.
  7. Anyone think Song would be worth going for? Shouldnt be pricy and has done well in this league. Any hope of Tiote regaining past form is fading very quickly and Colback and Anita are going to be outmuscled more often than not over the course of the season.
  8. Thauvin seems to be capable of providing the kind of quality the likes of Cisse, De Jong and hopefully Mitrovic can thrive on. Looks promising, just have to hope Thauvin and Mitro can build on the positive start here and De Jong can stay fit.
  9. Real quality from Thauvin, thank Goodness we seem to have gotten someone who can provide quality from set pieces.
  10. http://footyroom.com/newcastle-united-4-1-northampton-2015-08/ Hope thats not illegal or anything but decent good quality clips of the goals
  11. Missed the game but good to read about the impact Thauvin and Mitrovic had. Great result.
  12. We're so lightweight in central midfield. Colback Anita partnership is horribly....... inadequate. Well get bullied by most premier league teams.
  13. Typical nufc shambles. Doesnt really matter who's in charge or who the players are. The place is cursed
  14. Pretty much what I expected before the game, promising up front but susceptible at the back. Good to see some positive football, cracking second goal as well. Early days but Sissoko looks rejuvenated and Mbemba is quite possibly going to be a star. Sort out the defence and this could be a pretty decent season.
  15. Still think we've left a few areas unattended that needed real attention. Optimistic about what we could do upfront but we're still dependent on the likes of Williamson and Taylor. I can still see us struggling on set pieces and occasionally falling apart in spectacular fashion like only nufc can. Will be a lot more confident if we have a couple of new faces at the back come September.
  16. Been maintaining all along we need to spend big on an experienced CB or its going to be another testing season. Still massive issues at the back.
  17. Think I was more worried than excited when we were linked with Ballotelli. Too much baggage imo
  18. Didnt Gouffran come from Bordeaux? If yes, we shouldnt touch them with a barge pole again.
  19. Colback deserves his place based on last season. Not sure where Tiote's head is. Anita is a completely different type of player. Abeid didnt do anything spectacular but for a first proper run in this league I thought he showed promise. Physically strong, great engine, neat on the pass and did his job as a DM pretty efficiently. Also supposed to have a decent shot on him though we didnt see any evidence of that. I wouldnt put him ahead of Colback but I think if we're going to play a proper DM next season he should have a shot at it.
  20. Thought Abeid was pretty decent when he played last season, definitely deserving of a longer first team run. I dont think its just about having an out and out winger. Its about someone who can regularly put in decent crosses for the likes of Mitrovic. Can we rely on Janmaat to do that game after game? Not sure. Sissoko/Cabella from the wings? Big maybe.
  21. Aye, a bit like people like O'Shea at Man Utd.
  22. Aye. Williamson's name on the teamsheet is enough to set off most of the Wijnaldum/Mitrovic induced enthusiasm.
  23. Im happy with Carver gone too, and look forward to some better football under McClaren. Hopefully. Actually looking forward to this season after a long time. But that was not the point. I was speaking in terms of our spending. Its not big or extra ordinary by any means. Everton have spent more than that on a singe player. The likes of Villa are buying players for the same amounts. And as HF pointed out above we ourselves spent 37M last year. So I dont understand the fuss. This was the very minimum requirement to stay afloat, in fact we're still 2 defenders behind meeting that requirement. We still dont have a great squad. I suppose its the belief that we're still looking to sign 2-3 players after Mbemba thats getting people excited. If that happens THEN we'll have turned a corner, in terms of keeping up with the rest of the league anyway.
  24. Whats with all the 'we've turned a corner' crap going around on the social media. Yeah we've signed two good players, but we're still a way off from having a competing squad, even for the top 8. And its not like other clubs around us have been standing still. Even if we do manage to get in 2-3 more players we'd still only be catching up. Far too early to get excited.....
