Here we go again
-
At least the "we're playing well we just have a tough start" brigade has disappeared. We usually hit this stage around December, when nobody seems to be giving a fuck. The fact we've started out this way speaks volumes about our new ambition after the Ashley interview last season. And relegation is nailed on unless something drastic happens. Shambles.

Im genuinely shocked. Didnt expect it to be so bad. New backroom staff and everything. We're just destined to be rubbish, no other explanation.

At this rate Liverpool being our rivals for 14th place is more likely. -

Newcastle Utd V Watford / 3pm KO // SJP
aimaad22 replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye, on the whole I'd be happy if we finished 12th but started looking something like a team for once with a platform for better things in the years to come. There's some very serious work that needs doing though. The most positive things for me about yesterday was that McClaren didnt start with two DMs again so he doesnt seem to be as thick as his predecessor -

Mbemba's the only signing that's looked quality so far. There's a player in Wijanldum but he's far too anonymous for far too long. Not sure what Thuavin is exactly supposed to be. I thought he was the type of player to go past people and make things happen but there's been very little signs of that. -

Left back has to be a priority in January with the way Haidara has been performing. -

Coloccini and Haidara were abysmal today. Coloccini is our signing of the season too according to our manager. Thank God we didn't sign more players then. Feel sorry for Janmaat. -

Aye. But dont worry there's plenty of positive signs! Look at all the headless chicken running around wor Colback is doing! New signings looking really well drilled too. -

Anybody still feel like stating they're plenty of positive signs but we're just playing the best teams out there? -

Amazingly shite this. No plan no heart. Look at the players. Nobody gives a shit really. Horrendous stuff. We dont even try. Lost the match within 10 minutes. Fucking pricks the lot of these. -

Thank God we've dropped the two holding midfielder formation. Though I'd have dropped Colback not Anita. -

Going to be a nervy affair with us having lots of possession and no cutting edge leading to the crowd getting on the team's back. Watford nick a goal and its crisis time. Need an early goal to avoid all that. If we play Anita and Colback together again at home against this side I'll be extremely disappointed in McClaren. -
Can they do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke though?

No need to get disapointed with the likes of Thauvin yet when those that have been here for years played the way they did on Monday. -

That says it all really. Neither one is really upto the mark for this level yet we're playing both at the same time. Sort it out McClaren. -

aimaad22 replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
He's not got the game to be a proper defensive midfielder or a creative force. With the diminutive size you might expect pace and flair, but its not there. Im not sure the management knows where to play him. Yes there's a neat little passer in there with a decent understanding of the game but its not enough for this league. -

aimaad22 replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
I dont think its just that. What else is there to his game other than stringing 3 tiny passes together? You've got to have more at this level. Same goes for Colback. -

The defensive midfielders would struggle to dominate an under 15 team.
