21M is as much as anyone would want to pay for Berahino to be fair. We've left it late of course though. If we do get Doumbia I'd actually rather spend 10-15M on a defender to be honest.

Doumbia on loan is a very good move imo. He's got loads of ability and knows the back of the net, and if he doesnt make it here we dont have to buy him.

Didnt Shelvey and Townsend more or less fall out with their clubs? Cabaye was one of our rare good foreign imports, playing in a so called lesser league. Its not like he was at Barca or Bayern and came here just so to have a better shot at first team football.
