  1. Its not about sympathy. I think people pretty much everywhere are sick of condolences and empty statements. The same foreign policy decisions that have caused havoc in Aghanistan, Iraq, Syria and what not etc since 9/11 are now creeping up into Europe. So its takes a few hundred deaths in its own backyard for Europe to start questioning what has gone wrong. It kind of plays into the terrorist rhetoric of 'hitting back' at the west that is so often used for recruiting. A week or so there was a US drone strike in Somalia that killed a 150. 150. Noone batted an eyelid. Alleged terrorists apparently. So will some Somali have to raise hell in the US, God forbid, for someone to take notice of whats been going on there? Its about owning up to our decisions, our foreign policy. Not sympathy. Blame Islam all you like, see if it makes a difference. Believe me, whats happened in Pakistan since 9/11 is a mini version of the debate I see unfolding in Europe. Most people just wanted to blame the mullahs, bomb them and be rid of them. There have been tons of military operations. Waziristan and other areas bordering Afghanistan have been bombed to hell and back. It doesnt really work. Its not the way people are built. We have been forced into admitting that our involvement in the Soviet War and subsequently the Bush wars has gotten us into some deep shit. There's still a combination of military operations, uneasy negotiations and constant tension along the Afghan border. Things have gotten marginally better, only marginally.
  2. I'd like to know how much work has been done on who's funding and arming ISIS? How much help would it really be just trying to stop people from getting into places? Security check etc? Someone is bound to breakthrough sooner or later. You've got to hit it at the source, there's no other solution. Turn off the bloody tap rather than running around water thats falling down from the sink. Something like that. Dont know how to put it better
  3. Nearly laughed out loud reading Chez's comment about hundreds of people dying at the hands of terrorists in the last few months. That figure is actually hundreds of thousands and last few decades actually. But then I realised he means Europe only. Which brought me to this: Everytime sometime like this happens you hope for once that the importance of human lives will not be have to be weighed against each other again. Its hopeless though. And that perhaps is at the very heart of what is wrong with us today.
  4. http://indy100.independent.co.uk/article/the-countries-around-the-world-that-suffer-most-from-terrorism--W1gwAl4fJlW A few interesting stats. I think there oughta be a gitmo next to each McDonalds at the very least. Teach them bastids a good lesson.
  5. They beat some of the best teams in Europe then. Cant all be luck. I dont buy it.
  6. And Saivet. Looked decent in his first couple of games.
  7. Yep. At least he looked up for it yesterday though. His end product though man, awful, putting it lightly. What the hell he was doing taking out Mitro the only time he was through on goal only God knows. He's a bottler, completely loses his head in the final third. To an extent I agree with CT though in that Perez and Gini have looked really off the boil in recent months. Not really arsed either although Wijnaldum at least looked a lot more involved after moving into the centre, massive improvement over whatever the hell Anita was supposed to be doing anyway. These three are going to have to massively up their game if we're going to survive, starting Sunday and no later. You can see from yesterday alone that Rafa will do enough to have these organised with a proper game plan. The players have to dig deep to find a little bit of quality though.
  8. We looked a lot better when he was subbed last night. Its a bit shocking because when he first came here he was a tidy little passer who kept the ball moving around. Didnt have anything else to his game though and now that he cant pick a pass from 5 yards out he should be nowhere near the team,
  9. Sunday will be key needless to say. Win that and everyone gets going. Dont and we're cut adrift. There was a lot more energy and fight today. We've got to create some chances though. There's got to be some service up front. The crossing/final balls have been utterly woeful. Actually looking forward to Sunday. A little bit of composure and we can beat the mackems. Get the whole place going again.
  10. Well, almost went as expected. Elliot hardly had anything to do. A few positives. If Sissoko and Janmaat had some end product we might have taken something from this game.
  11. Janmaat needs to be reminded he's not on a weekend kickabout with friends. That shot on the volley from 30 yards out when there were 3-4 of his teammates inside the box. Ridiculous stuff
  12. You mean that injury when he was 7 where he hit his head and started seeing everything in triple?
  13. Thus my initial incredulity at taking Mitro out
  14. Yep. Lascelles not much better either. His Williamson style hoof the ball into nothing is not really helping. When you've got 4-5 thoroughly shit players around, normally one of which would be enough to disable a team, you know you're in deep shite.
  15. Saviet has got to be playing soon surely. How bad can he be? Looked a lot more composed on the ball than Anita anyway
  16. For Mitrovic? The only one who seems to be able to keep the ball and pass it so far?
  17. Well on the whole its much improved at least. Leceister have had 2 good moments one of which they scored from. Been neat and tidy otherwise. Anita is proving to be a massive liability as is Colback. Just shit these two. Midfield front 3 look up for it at long last but they're going to need Anita to stop giving the bloody ball away all the time. Mitrovic's hold up play has been very good. Would probably have scored too if Sissoko hadnt taken him out through on goal. Still in the game, how fit is Townsend?
  18. Colback pathetic as usual on their goal. Stupid stupid freekick to give away as well.
  19. Yes. Expecting a shapely turd now instead of it splattered all over the place
