I think its been mentioned already but the ref was a clueless wanker again. How much longer before we get some sort of luck with these guys? The foul on Gayle near the end was clear as day and he was in on goal. A couple of really cynical fouls not yellow carded as well. Useless twat.
-
And half a dozen other players that we didnt sign.
-
Wow. That was utter rubbish. Completely deserved to lose that. I tell you what. Last couple of games we've been as bad footballing wise as Ive ever seen us. We've offered literally nothing. Not a single clear chance. Hanging on against fucking Bournemouth at home and deserved to lose by a couple of goals at least. Shelvey the only player who can hold his head up high really. I thnk Elliot is a shit keeper. Distribution is shit, and he's shit at collecting the ball from crosses/corners. Proper pissed after watching that. Championship team without a shadow of a doubt.

Yup. A takeover of this size can easily take 6 months plus. And thats assuming there are no major hiccups and nobody gets cold feet.
-
Halfway to 6 in a row. Fans will be ok with that.

This has been a long time coming. But its every bit as good as we thought it would be and some more
-
Joselu in the no. 10 role would be an absolute sight to behold Aye. Has little choice as most around him dont have the ability to make a decent forward pass. Merino coming in in the centre will help with that hopefully.

This working hard thing is great but there HAS to be a maximum shiteness qualifier that precludes people from getting in the team on the basis of 'hard work'. The fact we dont have it shows the state of the attacking talent in the squad. Perez another one that highlights this. Fact many fans are okay with these two starting speaks volumes of the trust in Rafa and the system he's got going to manage with this squad. When you look at him individually, he'd be in the absolute bottom bracket of premier league strikers. Quite clear why he couldnt get into the team for freaking Stoke City.

That was a horrendous football match, our attacking play even more so. The lack of quality up front is depressing. Joselu, Perez, Diame are absolute dogshit. Yedlin and Manquillo are worse than useless going forward. Forget going forward in fact, they can barely make a straight pass towards the other goal. And 95% of the time they'll just cut back to the CD or the keeper resulting in us being continuously stuck inside our own box.
-
Aye I agree. He's a bit like Perez except not as shite. He's got some pace but he doesnt seem to have the ability to go past people often enough which players like him depend on. Seems to suffer from lack of ideas in the final third much the same as all of our front 3. Dont really like Townsend either, as others have said lack of end product. He's way better than Atsu though.
-
Great that we're finally dangerous from corners. What a shambles that was under Pardew. Ritchie's delivery is generally very good as well. Enjoyed Cabaye floating their corners aimlessly towards the far post. Never really understood that type of corner, takes all the pace out of the ball and has to be an extraordinary header to score from it. Ah the little things in life The last of Pardew's filthy germs are falling off from the team.

Who was that lad who went in full steam and shot the ball straight at Mitro right at the end? Manquillo I think? WTF was that??
-
That was absolutely dire stuff. And we've taken 3 points Feels so strange to be able to say that as a Newcastle fan. Almost as good as having an excellent defence, which gives you the chance to stay in games and snatch them away like this. Not going to be be able to repeat it many times this season if we play as shite as that again going forward, but we'll take it for now Give this man a bit of money for heaven's sake! He will win us a cup.
-
Diame ffs!! Murphy must be real shite. I know he's not a no.10 but Diame
-
Perez is so shit. Atsu pretty much too. Ritchie unable to get in the game. Poor all around really.

Reviewing contracts and any ongoing legal cases are standard due diligence tasks during an acquisition. Any half decent business man would have a team going through them in detail. I suppose, in simple terms, they'd be doing a projection of the impact the HMRC case could have in financial terms. If the likelihood is strong enough but they're still interested, you'd expect the bid amount to be adjusted accordingly. If Ashley is smart(fat chance), he'll have done his own calculations and have a price in his mind that factors it in. People have talked about big points deductions but is that really likely? Why punish the football side of it? Does it have something to do with the FA? Havent read a lot on this admittedly. If there's fraud you jail the officials and fine them and/or the company. You wouldnt punish, say a retailer, by telling them to throw out 40% of their stock or shut down shop for 12 hours a day. -

Definitely seems to be something in this now but as with all things Ashley you're constantly managing expectations that anything good could happen. Fingers crossed! -
Aye we've seen a fair few worse defenders than him here. Its wonderful to see us so well drilled and organized isnt it? For so long you we've been watching us half expecting everything to fall apart at any moment. Rode our luck in this game for sure though, Joselu was sure to mess that chance up. Here's hoping it gives him a major confidence boost. Atsu and Perez are a lot of huff and puff with little end product ,we'd be so much more dangerous with better players in those positions. Enjoyed Yedlin pocketing Mane for the game too. Mental pace he's got. Brilliant in that moment where he covered for Clark from halfway across the pitch to get the block on Salah. So good to be able to look forward to the football again
-
Aye I'd go with that too. For the time being anyway, the misses were shocking mind
-
Couldnt catch the game but a very decent performance by all accounts. 4th We'll have these little great runs while Rafa is here I suppose. How good is it to see us so well organized and drilled for a change
