Not helping the nerves.... Hopefully we will have more control of the ball in the middle with Bruno, though if we're able to translate that into better chances going forward, or any real chances, is a big IF. We're probably still betting on Wood getting on the end of a Trippier/Targett cross. Get the 3 points any which way lads, dragging Everton right into the shite will be a bonus.

The Entirely Unreasonable Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Wouldn't Bruno play a little ahead of Joelinton? If Lascelles is a starter come our next game, then this window has been a failure even if we get Mbappe now -

With Targett coming in Dummett provides CB cover. And Fede on the mend too so hope to hell that thought is wrong. Hopefully we're able to get rid of the deadwood in the summer. Disappointed about the way Lewis' time has turned out, there was a player in him somewhere but there you go. -

Yup looks like we were relying on last minute pushes for Ekikite and Lingard . Too late for Zapata? -

Aye. Really good to know we won't have to see Clark playing again though, Hopefully the same goes for the club captain although I suppose he can provide cover for a few months -

Cheers. I love the Beardsley one. Can't be many more naturally gifted footballers that England produced? Gota be decent if Lionel Messi copies your syle -
Click Hope the link stays up, didn't on Youtube. The GeordiePride one by Pedro still gives me goosebumps, that's the one with My Immortal in the backgorund.

Can't wait till we're able to embarrass them at Old Trafford. Not that that's a hugely difficult thing to do any more. The whole place is pretty toxic right now, from the board to the players. Hope they miss on the CL again and stay stuck in mid table battles with West Ham and Leicester for years. -

I think if it's just the additional 4M for the loan fee, which it apparently was till yesterday, then in our situation it might not be the worst deal ever. Even if he helps keep us up and then sods off. But yeah, with the story running now, its just mental. -

Agreed. I was applying the same logic to Lingard, is it that mental paying 10M for someone proven at this level? Given our predicament, and with the possibility of tying him down permanently too. These are obvious points which they must have considered as well, so hopefully they're just confident in the backup options. Getting pretty close to squeaky bum time now though, and I can't imagine many clubs will sell right at the end of the window with little chance of finding a replacement. Or lower their prices knowing our desperation will only have increased. -

I'm all for telling the likes of Sevilla to go screw themselves but giving up on Lingard over 4M would just be stubbornness imo. He's someone who could make a significant contribution in saving our season. -

Did Man Utd raise the loan fee for Lingard at the last minute or what? This seemed doable, unless they asked for something silly at the last minute its worrying that we've failed here as well. -

Worryingly don't see progress on a CB now that Carlos seems down the drain. -
Take care Ant and thanks for all your effort over the years. Can't be easy.

Aye true that's what they think but it actually isn't. I agree they'll want to bring us to the level of Man City but whether they manage to do so remains to be seen. Nufc are just one of a number of initiatives MBS has laid out to improve their image and catch up to the likes of Dubai in tourism etc. Not all have worked so far, it's not a given even with PIF's massive resources. -

Anything to get us to safety mate, as has been pointed out here the state of people like Lascelles and Longstaff is such we are in zero danger of downgrading in any way.
