  1. How good a finish was that from Bruno though, one thing busting a gut to get to the box in the 95th minute but he actually had to angle it in the top right corner to get it away from the defender. Top class. Love the fact we can sit back and enjoy the last few games with no squeaky bums in sight and draw up fantasy 11s around Bruno & co. Maybe it gives Howe that little bit extra peace of mind to see what he exactly wants to build for next season. Incredible turnaround since December. Some of our performances, like today haven't been spectacular but you cant possibly ask for more from this squad.
  2. Good throwback to the Bruce days this. What a massive relief we went on the run that we did. Roll on the summer. ASM has become oh so painful to watch. I wonder if there will even be any interested parties in the summer at this rate.
  3. It's a poor second half performance, but as has been said the players look knackered, the break will do us good. Bloody fuming at Everton though. That little prick Jordan and then the alpha prick Richarlison. Hope to hell they end up getting relegated somehow.
  4. Getting the feeling this will be one of those infuriating games where they'll nick one.
  5. Wasn't Richarlison a decent player once? What an absolute prick he's become, epitomizing what the rest of his team are now
  6. Decent half, Everton are supreme shite. Agree Almiron is just not looking good. Chuck ASM on there, there's space to exploit here.
  7. Nope. NBC/Peacock in the US where I am currently. In the Middle East it's still pretty much BeIn (Al Jazeera)
  8. Pondering whether to renew my $5 a month subscription for this because it falls in the middle of a workday and I may not be able to watch. Its $5 I know but these internet subscriptions add up Never had these problems under Ashley
  9. We expect the Russians to somehow stand up to Putin, yet here in the US the man who practically killed off hundreds of thousands of Americans is getting ready for a second go at the Presidency. It get's a little easier to understand the madness you see abroad when you start looking closely at what's happening closer to home.
  10. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-03-15/errant-indian-missile-nearly-led-to-pakistan-retaliatory-strike Talking of double standards, if Pakistan or North Korea launched a nuclear capable missile by mistake there would be global uproar. Not a peep at this.
  11. What this invasion has really outlined is the staggering hypocrisy on pretty much all sides. Western hypocrisy is nothing new, a few media outlets have run comparisons on the reaction to Ukraine versus Arab/Asian countries. After all a Nobel peace prize was handed out to the guy who routinely bombed Afghan weddings and schools. Every time I see a massive headline on CNN about a civilian casualty in the Ukraine, I can't help but think of the incidents of 'collateral damage' we heard about near everyday a few hours drive across the border from my home in Islamabad. And yet this time it's the 'other side' per say, whose nonchalant double standards bother me more. The representatives and public across many countries in Africa and Asia who seem to be taking glee in this 'challenge to the West'. Despite the horrendous casualties of this conflict. Shouldn't these people, having first hand witnessed what war criminals can do, be the first to jump to the defense of civilians in Ukraine? Apparently not. If we back Putin's senseless violence, then how are we any different from the people that cheered the Afghan/Iraq wars? Do the thousands of deaths in Palestine or Syria make the life of a single Ukrainian kid any less important? Absolutely fecking not is the only answer. Putin may be going up against 'the West' but does that make him any less of a madman? Simple questions a lot of people don't seem to be bothered with.
  12. Absolutely this. If having a relationship with Saudi is such a concern where have all these questions been when the multitude of government, military and commercial deals took place and why aren't they, even now, directed at any of the authorities who actually have the power to do something about it? And then there's organizations like Amnesty International ffs. Is this what the sum total of their efforts comes down to when dealing with Saudi atrocities? Asking the operational manager of an indirectly associated company thousands of miles away to condemn them? It achieves nothing, it's a pathetic attempt at getting into the headlines. How about call out some of the real power figures in this manner as well? Here's a guy who actually just trying to do his job and do it right and he's become an easy target for fashionable bashing by people trying to look good in today's political climate. I think it's absolute rubbish. He is a public figure with responsibilities, yes, but they are limited to the team. If a player said something inappropriate I would expect Howe to say and do something about it, but not for people he has zero control over.
  13. FFS. Thats shite there but its still robbery. Pricks. Hope they get dissolved soon.
  14. Dont think Staveley has the ref bribing system sorted out yet.
  15. Unbelievably corrupt refereeing. There has to be some sort of post match process for people to look at this sort of shite and hold the refs accountable. But that would not benefit the big boys so...
  16. Can't claim to know much about Southampton as a place, any more than I can about Newcastle Dad spent some time in the UK on Naval exercises though and had a few Portsmouth stories. Is it far from Southampton? He never cared to mention it even though he loves to drag on about the places he visited around the area.
  17. Oh my GOD Le Tissier weaved through our hapless defense. Oh feck, all bow down to Southampton. How will we EVER become bigger than them now. I'm off to a Man Utd forum, just remembered that time Beardsley weaved past all those Man Utd players. How massive are we.
  18. Aye. In the Ashley era there really was only that one season where Cisse went completely mental and there were a few crackers from Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Ryan Taylor. Can't really think of a fun season we had other than that one. Pardew put Cisse on the left wing next season or something didn't he Getting excited about matchdays these days almost feels surreal.
  19. Incredible incredible stuff! You have to hand it to Howe and the team. Funny what a bit of positivity can do. We've all rightly had a go at many of these players but they've been transformed recently. WTF was Bruce doing to them exactly? Also love how hush the media is about this. We were supposed to be the richest club that ever went down. "Newcastle win again" squeezed in a little corner on the football page. It's a miraculous turn around you sour little pricks and if it was any other club you'd be wanking yourself silly over it.
  20. Brilliant energy from Willlock to get in the block there. 6 min ffs
