  1. Aye. I haven't been reading too much about what's going on in Germany etc. to be honest but you would think pressurizing them to stop buying the gas should be the next major step, before direct conflict. That's a major recession and huge problems of course but still preferable to nuclear war surely if that's really on the table now?
  2. How does Putin actually think they can pull of a wider conventional conflict given their failures in Ukraine so far? What does he have up his sleeve? If the objective is restoration of some semblance of the USSR than going nuclear isn't really going to achieve that is it? Remember when Turkey shot down that Russian jet near Syria and there were fears of a major response against NATO? I remember reading an article or two where the military strategists seemed to think Russia would need a few days to blitzkrieg across Europe right up to England's doorstep and all the calculations where how many days Europe could hold off before the US war machine is fully mobilized. Seems a bit silly now all that
  3. Looks like Germany is ready to cave in to the demand to pay for gas in rubles. I don't think Europe is ready to take an economic hit and you lot are talking of fighting a nuclear war for freedom.
  4. Some game at the Etihad this. Real have been battered but they just dont go away do they.
  5. Aye that has to be it, but it's still strange to see owners not carrying out proper due diligence with what the cost of failure in the Premier league is now. Hodgson is another good shout. Got in at Liverpool ffs
  6. Oh Fat Sam McClaren was in the new the other day. We've been through some turgid shite over the years alright.
  7. FYP. Think we'd settle for a draw like, have a say in deciding the title race. Sign of things to come.
  8. Any club, including us, that hires him deserves what they get. And he absolutely deserves being exposed in the way he has been at many clubs now, as a completely hopeless lazy incompetent 'manager'. That he drags his useless son everywhere with him tells you everything you need to know about how the guy will run the place. We're bloody fortunate to have moved onto infinitely better things but just reading his name is still a bit of a trigger Are decent coaches really that hard to find? I wouldn't be surprised if he manages to land another championship job. Perhaps another couple of those before he moves onto league one. Am inglorious reunion with a certain club perhaps.
  9. Come to think of it, he could come in handy as backup
  10. Writer must be an absolute dinosaur
  11. Exactly. Over the next couple of years, if he can score 10 odd goals each season as the backup and tactical change option he will have been a good buy. You need to have these kind of options up front if targeting a top 8 finish. We will struggle with Wilson and Wood alone up front again, not that I think that will be the case come August.
  12. I'm guessing top half or top 8 may be a realistic target for next season, top 6 might be a stretch too far for now. Plus then you'd like to establish a side that can actually stay top 8. There's been a lot of sides that havent been able to do that in recent years. You don't think we need a forward? Especially with Wilson's injury record? Based on our January targets and the state of the squad I think CF will be a top priority followed by CB, play maker and LB.
  13. I'd be happy if we're even just able to make a competitive game of it. They're world class and in a rich vein of form. Doesn't get much harder than this. A point would be huge. Interesting to see how the team fares against this level of opposition in the belief and confidence they show on the ball. I'm sure there will be periods where we will just be lumping the ball out with the high press they deploy, but I'm hoping to see just a tiny bit of belief in terms of build up play and passing. None of that tippy tappy crap at the back though, Dubravka needs to be hoofing it asap
  14. The fact they've got massive pricks in the likes of Richarlison, Gordon and Delle makes the prospect of them going down all the more tastier.
  15. You'd think he could maintain this next season with 2-3 quality additions that we can expect in the summer. Would be unreal if we got back into Europe as early as next season.
  16. Go on now lads! Liverpool v Everton is now a must watch 😁
  17. He's very active on Twitter. Seems to be really absorbing the atmosphere and building up the feel good factor at the club currently. It's wonderful as long as he's giving it his all on the pitch and we're doing alright. It can get a little tedious when things aren't going so well and players are posting promo videos, as it did with ASM a couple of times this season.
  18. Next time they try to pull something like that a section from the fans should invade the pitch and wreck the VAR monitors. Call em the smash squad or something.
  19. Still absolutely buzzing. Imagine when we actually start challenging for things
  20. Bruno falling back to link up with the back 4, his movement and awareness is excellent. And has the technical ability to open up defences and find that deadly pass as well as an eye for goal. Special signing this. The movement just stands out for me and it's not something you've seen from our players in many years. Tells you a lot about a player. So early in his time here as well.
  21. Not to mention spectacularly illustrating what a horror show excuse of a manager their pal Bruce was.
  22. Whoa had completely forgotten we still have a player called Matt Richie
