  1. The player that took a chance on the club when we looked down and out, and cojone shrinkage was a widespread pandemic across players and fans. Would only be right if he's the one to lift the first trophy in ages if and when it comes. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect signing to kick off Howe's project. Attitude, leadership, quality on the ball. Some of his play on Saturday was just brilliant to watch. I agree he's the sort of intelligent player that could play at the top level for a few years years yet, not really dependent on raw pace or power.
  2. Because Joe is suspended for the next game and the other option is Murphy
  3. Been great stuff after all the stoppages in the first half. We've just kept going. Thought Bruno was off it a bit in the first half but him and Big Joe really in it now
  4. Interesting, and quite scandalous. No wonder these guys want to start a Super League as well, looks like there may be another attempt at that. Hopefully there will be enough of a backlash again to put an end to it, at least in England. Barca and Real can start a bilateral league if they like.
  5. Greatest redemption stories under Howe's time so far: 1. Joelinton 2. Almiron 3. The Fish 4. Schar
  6. If they have the President of the Federation on audio saying those things, isn't there an investigation of some sort happening? It's one thing to rig the system so that the status quo is very hard to challenge, another to outright say that Atleti must be stopped from winning the title.
  7. He's fantastic like, nothing seems to faze him, reads the game so well, his passing is a joy to watch. You'd think he's been playing in this league for years. Can only help that Schar seems to be in the form of his life as well but Botman's the most talented CB we've had since Woodgate.
  8. Don't disagree with much of that but I don't think we will finish 4th or win anything over the next couple of years. I don't think most fans do, we're probably just enjoying the fact we're mixing it with the big boys now and playing actual football again. Personally I haven't even thought much about things like when we could possibly win a tropy or mount a title challenge, I'm just looking forward to next Saturday. We've visibly rattled the top 4 this season already, with a very limited squad, you think adding a couple of quality players will not add to the knicker quivering? They're already talking about a big 7. They tried hard to stop the takeover. They are SCARED. If or when we win a bunch of trophies is a not a directly related function. Life is short, enjoy the little moments mate.
  9. Absolutely. Villa are going nowhere. He wanted a nice comfortable job, expect to finish between 10th and 15th. No relegation fight and defnitely no Europe challenge.
  10. RW - Upgrade Miggy. Love the guy, incredible run of form but he is still a limited player, will be interesting to see what level of performance he can keep up once the goals dry up a bit. In any case he should be a great second choice/rotation option to our shiny new winger, Murhpy and Fraser just dont cut it at this level. DM - Upgrade Longstaff, allow Bruno a little more freedom AM - Someone like Maddison who can play across the front and create chances when teams shut up shop (going to happen more and more against us with time) We are 2-3 players away from being proper scary
  11. Cheers though mate I was remembering the old time stamp thing or something like that.
  12. Why didn't the tweet embed for me? Completely unacceptable

  14. Aye that's the biggest change isn't it? Its incredible to think of the transformation from Bruce's time. The fitness levels required as well. Its as if the players have been dying to execute a coherent plan, starved by years of cluelessness and general apathy under the previous management,
