Screw the title race man. Top 4 would be an incredible achievement. Was just reading a tweet from a Man City fan on how we're supposed to be in the "Bellamy/Adebayor" stage and still pissing the league. Nobody can make sense of it and nobody knows what to do about it. If we avoid significant injuries we will take top 4. This lot are that good and Howe is relentless. It's freaking magnificent.

Everton last minute loss. Never gets old

Aye Bruno running the show per usual. Tielamans on the pitch but Bruno just looks in a different class to everybody else. Outstanding half all around. Miggy, Big Joe with the runs for Burno to pick out. Willock and Longstaff not doing anything special but making an absolute nuisance of themselves with the press and creating space for others. Wonderfully balanced team and we're missing 2 star forwards

Oh dear 2-0 out of nowhere. Aye I agree France haven't looked that great at all. It's just a side full of experienced winners though isn't it? Hope Messi stuffs them
-
Morocco really giving them a game, have had a couple of great chances. I thought France would coast after the opener but credit to the Africans.

Agree about the way they won the bid. We live in a crappy world where the rich rule. It's not something unique to this Cup so I'm reading into it only as much as any other policitcal shite. From what I'm reading most people have realy enjoyed their time there, especially considering its the first major event they've hosted. The amount they've spent, the infrastructure would have been great right Most of the games have been great fun to watch. That's a great tournament in my books.

Just as much as any other major tournament as a football fan, luckily as an Asian I don't really buy the hypocritical shite storm stirred by some of the Wester media The winter placement is not ideal but it's still been the most entertaining tournament I can remember.

Gvardiol absolutely skinned by Messi there. 3-0 France are in for a game at this rate.
-
He will take it after he's won everything with us and is bored but his heart couldn't possibly take moving to another club. That's when England finally win a major tournament again. Real Madrid after that before he retires.

I'd say tough luck on going out but I know most of you lot dont really toss about the national team I think this was one of the better England performances without a doubt. Yet not quite the unjust result that some are making it out to be, France got the result without really being at their best. They changed gears when they needed to and got the goals when they were required. Perhaps people were expecting Mbappe to run riot. I get the points in favor of Southgate and agree certain players in the squad aren't really that great (Maguire and Henderson still playing ffs) The biggest problem with Southgate is his unwillingness to take risks and that's the one thing he hasn't been able to change about England in major tournaments. The Euros were there for the taking, so was this Cup. He also doesnt seem to be able to drop his favorite players in spite of form and that also makes his systems rigid. Hate to say it but Howe would win a tournament with this squad in the next 6 years if he got them now.

Oof who was the numpty that gave away that freekick
-
Even at this age he's so clearly better than everyone else its ridiculous. Just watching him on the ball, doubt we'll ever get to see anything like it again in our lifetimes. I know the hero worship can get borin at times but in his case it's true really
-
Dear me. So much potential in that squad but an absolute gutless bore or a manager. Same old story for England.
-
None of that Brazilian midfield have offered anything at Bruno's level. I'd be happy with him not playing, the rest suits NUFC, except it will probably leave him gutted.
-
Rashid was outstanding. Got Babar just when he looked settled. Depth bowling from England was great too because at something like 110 with 5 overs to go 160 looked probable. Back to not caring about cricket till the next World Cup, its the exact opposite of football

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Absolutely. Not just because its Man Utd, have always found Ronaldo dislikeable. May be one of the greatest ever but its ALWAYS about him, never thought twice about throwing his teammates under the bus if that serves him personally. What a diva.
