The Shelvey love in on Twitter has been doing my head in. You'd think he was Rob Lee ffs. We have Willock who can slot in at CM. Anderson a gamble if things really get to shite. It's not a great situation and would have been ideal to get a replacement for Shelvey but this is where our squad is. If either of Schar or Botman are injured we are screwed. If Tripper is, we are screwed. There's weaknesses that will take a few windows to resolve. The club has been clear in their approach that they will go only for the right man. Bit of patience and perspective needed.

Exactly 6 foot apparently so just makes the cut

I don't think they're trying to rescue this season now. This is all mean to give Potter something to build for next season. Aresenal just seem to have a good relationship with other top clubs. Probably because they haven't been a real threat for a while.
-
They wont deal with us as top 4 rivals but Arsenal is fine?
-
Seem to be a putting a lot of faith in the Potter project. I wonder what they'll do if it doesn't work out with him and they've spent a few years' budget on his players. Will they be as patient as Arsenal have with Arteta? Arsenal didn't have the same outlay though and could afford a few years in and out of the CL.
-
They're spreading the spend over a number of years aren't they. Even the Enzo proposal is supposed to be in installments. Could be 25M a year or something like that. I'm harbouring the hope they fail to qualify for the CL for a couple of years and end up with some sort of liquidity issues.

Aye what a class character Schar is -
Looks like Chelsea inching closer to Fernandez. That might set a few things in motion. How much of an upgrade over Longstaff would Gallagher be in the final third? I honestly don't know. From what I've seen of the Chelsea man his strengths are energy and intensity.

Howe has said as much about getting a loan in, we are definitely looking. Was going to say this would be a good time for Anderson to see if the can make the step up. This might be harsh because he's had very limited playing time but from what we've seen of him so far this season he is nowhere near ready.
-
Same here. I'd rather we get in Berge on loan and then assess the situation in the summer especially if we qualify for Europe and can splash the cash with new sponsorships in.
-
Hope the Shelvey deal gets done. Forrest have been great this window for us. Was just going to say we haven't really been able to move much of the deadwood. But if that's Wood, Shelvey and Darlow out it's a start with most of the rest out in the summer.
-
I'll be shocked if we get him this window, but the club did pull Isak seemingly out of nowhere in the summer. Not sure what our FFP position looks like right now but it's not entirely inconceivable the club decides to spring another surprise or two given our league position.
-
Brilliant news. An outstanding leader and at the center of Howe's revolution, a world class right back. One of the top 5 players statistically in the league, but watch him play and you don't even need to be told statistics, immediately obvious he's different class. In 15 years time when Howe wins his 10th title and the club decide he can now fulfil his dream of conquering Europe with Barca, Trips will step in Arteta/Xavi style.
-
Given his age 40M really isn't an exorbitant amount considering what wide forwards have gone for in the last couple of windows. I don't get the fuss over the fee either. If Howe is able to work his magin on Gordon it'll feel like a bargain, like the Botman and Bruno transfers do now.
-
Aye something of that sort would have to be it. Or a more obscure deal from Europe for a wantaway player. Everybody knows we mean serious business now, while clubs like Chelsea will see us as rivals now and may not want to do any favours, players will be a lot more inclined to push for moves.
-
So they're making up numbers as well despite what is being widely reported in the media. I realize that may be the least of the disturbing things to note in that lot

A haricut should be the first order of business for the little prick. Oh, our little prick I mean.
