I've done my part again for you ungrateful bastids. Another journey to visit family in Pakistan and although I've arrived a couple of hours before the game starts, I've decided it still counts. You're welcome.

What an absolutely ridiculous performance and result this is. I literally couldn't believe me eyes as they goals kept going on. Insane stuff from the lads. What I really came on to say though was before anyone claims to be the lucky charm (not having read most of the thread) , it was me. I was on a flight to Mecca (holy pilgrimage no less) and caught the game at the end of a 12 hour flight. An unreal first 20 minutes, made completely surreal on a flight. There were a few stares from nearby passengers as I struggled to keep my voice down. Anyway the point is, you all know who to buy a ticket the next time you feel like another one of these games.

We could hire an investigator to sort this out. Perhaps.... Poirot of the Caribbean?

Nothing new then, all names we've been linked with for months.

'Cautious' is the word he's chosen? The club has smashed its transfer record whilst picking up elite young players from across Europe, meticulously fitted to the culture we are looking to build. And cautious is the word he uses. How he manages to write for a living is beyond me.

Not to mention the Weghorst 'punch' late on. Would have been an easy red for any other team bar Man Utd and Liverpool.

As I was saying probably a mix of both. Botman and Schar have been eating up those long balls for fun all season. And our midfield balance was just way off, perhaps to do with Longstaff missing. You can't deny those were factors too, it wasn't just Villa blowing us off the park as if they were prime Pep Barca. We shouldn't read too much into it. I mean we definitely got beaten by the much better team on the day, no doubt. But that is a reality of this league, even the 'top 4' will struggle against good sides in form. Its the recovery and consistency over the season that proves CL pedigree.

I see Gemmill has wisely refrained from commenting on Everton's fortunes recently, but their demise could still be one of the fun things to look forward to these last few weeks. They play us, City and Brighton, and have a couple of 6 pointers against Bournemouth, Leicester.

That's the beauty of football and sport though isn't it, come the last few games it could be confidence, momentum, bad luck with injuries etc. that could be the deciding factor. Agree with gloomy on Brighton. Incredibly well run outfit, play good attacking football and can beat anyone on their day. More worried about them than Spurs, as they're well...Spurs. If we beat them next week that could be that for them.

They were not better than Arsenal or City man! They were very good but we were also very very poor. Huge spaces in midfield, Bruno and Joe completely off it, Willock looked clueless. CBs failing to deal with balls over the top, Trippier having his worst game in months. I get Villa playing so well made them look like that, but had we been at our usual performance levels it would have been a much closer game. Like Arsenal away was. It was a bad day at the office, and its a very tough league. Villa are in fine form with a good coach. They'll be back down to earth soon though as multiple teams in this league over the years have. And once they run into a bit of bad form, the lack of cojones on Emery will come to the fore. Not a club we need to be worrying about in the coming years, they can kid themselves all they like, they are in the Everton category more than anything else.
