City just made a whole show of the treble trophy presentation in Abu Dhabi. MBS will be squirming on his throne (sorry I mean chair)
-
Why? You could have said the same about Bruno, Isak and Botman and that was before the CL. Not saying we'll definitely get him but we're absolutely right to be putting our name in the hat. That's the calibre of player you need to target to cement top 4 status and lay the foundations for a title charge down the line. Think of it this way. Maybe we wont get Barella. But between him, Maddisson, Szobozlai (and probably a couple of others the press knows nothing about) there's a good chance we'll get at least one.
-
Yeah but most reports now saying there's some way to go. Let's see. Either way, this sort of stuff that will help pass the summer by
-
Ah that's a bit of a disappointment for a moment it seemed like we'd pulled another Isak style stealth deal out of nowhere. But aye we'll lap it up after the McTominay, Maguire and Walker-Peters links
-
I'd take him over Maddisson, different player but he has the type of heart and energy you get from Joe/Bruno. Lack of balls/being dropped for Leceister in the deep end of the relegation fight doesnt bode too well for Maddisson. I'd trust Eddie to sort that kinda stuff out pronto if we did sign him though
-
If we do get Barella I'd prefer us to go for a winger and LB over Maddisson. Unless Howe is planning to use Maddisson on the right.

Prime Messi was a freak of nature, We'll never see anything like it again. -
Joelinton like engine with superb technical ability. This would be massive and a bit of a steal at $50M imo in the current market if we pull it off.

Oh aye lahars. Dunno why'd you give a French sounding name to something so destructive. Explosive bastards or not this created a longing for mountains I'd shoved back. Bloody Texas. Spent plenty a summer in the North of Pakistan where Ranier would be absolutely dwarfed. The Pacific North West is still of course absolutely beautiful, despite English levels of rain. Bloody freaking Texas man.
-
It's quite the sight even now, as if somebody took a saw to a bloody 8000 ft mountain. And you can still find ashes on the forest floor around the site. The nearby volcanoes around Portland and Seattle (12000 and 14000 feet iirc) are supposedly active/potentially active And it all sits on (or near?) the Cascadia subduction zone, the one that will drop the west coast into the ocean once the 'big one' finally hits. Everyone's heard of San Andreas but it's not nearly as potent.

Shitty humans don't have a history of suddenly turning nice, unless appropriate punishments are handed out. Football clearly doesn't want to do that with racists.
-
Decent place to go on loan that. Hopefully he gets some playing time.
-
Maguire Signing him would be ridiculous enough to throw a big question mark on Eddie and the management despite what they've done so far. Worse than the McTomniay rumor. He would be uninspiring, but at least not total dog shite.
-
No way to order one with the CL badge online. Pfft
-
Probably another bullshit rumour but interesting nonetheless, he really caught the eye in the last Euros but I think suffered a bad inury this season. From what I remember him playing for Italy seemed to have tons of pace and energy, can't say I've seen much of him for Juve.
-
Per these reports then if we hadn't finished 4th we'd have a budget of around $20M this summer? Righto. Nobody knows shite. I think the club will have a list of minimal targets to get, and some to be monitored if a good deal becomes available like Isak last summer. We're probably looking at 2 top quality players like Maddisson and 2-3 decent ones to boost the squad and upgrades the likes of Burn/Murphy/Miggy. That sounds like $150M at least.
-
The Youtube algorithm has picked up that NUFC fans are all of a sudden desparate for content, it will feed me just about anything. I think I listened to about 5 minutes of Goldbridge or whats his name the other day.
-
One of Simon Jordan's rare decent moments recently was when he layed into Ten Hag for complaining about his spend when he's brought shite like Antony for 90M. Would be delightful to see them blow a couple of hundred million more and then have a Chelsea-eque season.
-
Not sure what classifies as 'big chances' here but you get the gist.
-
Read somewhere he's carried the ball more than any other player in the league. That's pretty impressive and he's clearly been such a great outlet for us breaking with pace. There's certain weaknesses to his game already spoken about but on the whole I think he's very underrated. Even in this league you will be hard pressed to find someone who can do the defensive work with the energy he does and still be a critical part of the offensive setup. A true box to box player this season. I think it's also been forgotten that he almost single handedly kept us up one season not too long ago.
-
We'll be seeing a lot more of Gordon next season obviously with a full pre-season under Howe and no doubt an exact idea of what his role in the team is supposed to be. This season it was nothing more than integration and utility sub appearances. I expect Howe to play to his strenghts, be direct, take on people with his pace and create space for the central forward. And if the current coaching setup has gotten Miggy, Joe, Willock and even Murhpy to add some end product to their games I don't see why they couldnt work with Gordon on that aspect too. Too early too judge.

I'm liking how PIF eventually seem to be able to get what they want, working in a methodical, planned, inevitable fashion. Staveley: "We will win the Premier League, we will win the Champions League........"
