I know, it's sad what we've become. What makes it worse is the certificate we got presented with for winning it. How are you supposed to do an open top bus parade with that.

I think by '2006 winners', they mean the representatives from that country qualified for the UEFA Cup through the Intertoto Cup in 2006. I thought Intertoenail qualification was purely based on league position ? It is. That's what I'm saying. The asterisk doesn't mean that the winners from last year qualify again this year, it just denotes which countries were successful in the intertoto cup in 2006. I could be wrong though which would be good, as there is feck all chance of us qualifying through the league this year.

The defence were undoubtedly pap but the blame needs to be spread around the whole team. Our midfield just didn't keep possession so the defence were under far too much pressure. Also, with Sibierski starting we always took the easy way out and lumped it long to him which invariably meant us quickly losing possession. With Dyer and Martins up-front we would have had to keep possession a little bit better (granted we still would have probably lumped it long). I think the whole team and Roeder's tactics have to take the blame for this one, rather than just point the finger solely at the defence.

Mr Nail, meet Mr Head. Why would they want to meet? As I understand it, the phrase you refer to is "hits the nail on the head", the head being part of the nail...so that's just nonsense. Was thinking the same thing, it's like introducing somebody to their own arm. Maybe Mr. Hammer meet Mr. Nail. I shudder to think what an MC Hammer and Jimmy Nail collaboration would sound like.
