  1. Seems happy enough. That's some outfit he has got on. Can't help thinking that he bought the wrong size shirt though.
  2. Why would we want him when we've got Poo-poo? Post of the day! For some reason, that really tickled me.
  3. True, Green Street and the other one with Danny Dyer in it were laughable though. Anyone who is impressed with hooliganism after watching that dross, is a halfwit. I'm ashamed at myself for even watching them. I also confess to having once read a Dougie Brimson book (which was even worse than you might imagine). The hours I spent reading that, I'll never get back, that's the thing that depresses me the most.
  4. Agreed, the one thing you used to be able to rely on, was him to put the effort in and at least unsettle the opposition. In the last two games his movement has been virtually non-existent. Maybe he realises that he isn't in KK's plans once everyone is fit, so he just can't be arsed any more.
  5. Get rid of Smith. Whenever I see him, he looks like a lower league player out of his depth. £60k a week for a man who is as inept a midfielder as he is a striker, is frankly ridiculous. As for Duff, he has been pish for us the last two seasons. However, has also looked decent pre-season (I thought he did well when he came on as sub against Hertha Berlin and was one of our better players last night) and looks like he may have his pace back, so I'd persevere with him.
  6. He couldn't trap a bag of cement. When he plays up-front, he looks like a midfielder playing up-front. When he plays in midfield, he looks like a striker playing in midfield. This leads me to conclude that he is, in fact, just utterly gash.
  7. Fabregas, Gerrard and Torres for me. Messi outside the PL.
  8. As far as I'm concerned he can do what he likes as long as it stops him topping himself. Agreed, whether he is a hindrance or not (he may even be a benefit) to the club, I'd like to see us do something for him as he was a fantastic player and, in my opinion, the game owes him something. As far as I'm concerned, there is still room for sentiment in football, and we should be making a special case for Gazza. He is still the best English player I have ever seen in my lifetime.
  9. I think Chimbonda, Diouf and Malbranque are all good signings for them. Can't see them struggling too much next season.
  10. The problem is, most of you won't have a grounding in business, so you won't know what an executive director is, however rest assured I'm right. Fuck off. What do you do for a living like? I reckon Danny's been on one of them Learn Direct courses. That or GNVQ Business Studies. Don't you have to have sat your GCSE's before you do GNVQ?
  11. No offence Billy but you think Arsenal fans are knowledgeable? Most don't know football even existed prior to 2000. Maybe it just because they agree blindly with the tripe you lot feed them on a daily basis. Where as we pull you up on what your peddling. The self proclaimed "best fans in the world". Toot toot, sponge fingers, jester hats and airhorns all round. As I said in my original post, I can only talk about the fans of those teams that I know, I am not making a generalisation, I am just relating my personal experiences based on people I have met. My Arsenal supporting mates are, by and large, knowledgeable and have pretty realistic expectations. The Spurs fans I know are neither of the two. I just put the chip on their shoulder down to Spurs being in the shadow of bigger rivals, much in the same way Sunderland, Everton and Birmingham City fans behave. The way you are is understandable. Add in the fact that you have a snidey little ground just off the Severn Sisters Road (the only place in the world where fried chicken shops outnumber people), and my understanding of why you are like you are turns to pity. Sponge fingers and air horns? What on earth are you prattling about man?
  12. There's no need for the anti-semitic chat like. This guy provides us with more than enough material than to have to resort to that.
  13. It is rare that I post on here but, as a geordie, having lived in London for the past 9 years, can I just say that this Fanny B bloke typifies the majority of Spurs fans I have encountered down here. When it comes to London teams (and I can only speak of people I know), the best fans are Arsenal ones as they are the most realistic and generally fairly knowledgeable, West Ham fans are ok as they are genuine football fans, Chelsea fans are by and large ok, Charlton and Fulham fans are inoffensive and generally apologetic about how pish thier teams are. The Spurs fans I know, while generally nice blokes (ok, so that's where the comparison with Fanny B breaks down), when it comes to Spurs, become deluded huge chip on shoulder f*ckwits. Whoever called them cockney mackems had it spot on. Living in the shadow of Arsenal and Chelsea really grates with them as they know that their rivals will always be better than them, and this turns them into foaming at the mouth, insecure imbeciles, like Fanny B. Other people may have other views, but I can only speak of the people I know down here who support these clubs. Phew, I'm pleased I go that off my chest! For the record, being realistic, I believe that Spurs are in better shape than us at the moment (even if they do guarantee us six points a season). That said, I'd far rather be a Toon fan than a Spurs fan.
  14. Having experienced what it is like to be English and live in Scotland for 12 years (I left when old enough to do so), and having been subject to what is essentially socially-acceptable racism against the English, I think independence is a good thing regardless of whether or not England subsidises them. There is a genuine dislike of the English up there and not in the "we are just having a laugh" sort of way so surely they are better off independent rather than being in the same union. I'm not saying us English are any better as many people have pathetic hang-ups over Germany and Argentina, but there is no union between England and these countries.
  15. Should be nowhere near the club. Did very little for NUFC and has shown the region up. This is presumably some kind of sanctimonious wind-up? Granted the man has issues, but he is the most talented England player since god knows when. When he left Newcastle, we were an utter shambles, there is no way he should have stayed with us at that time. As for showing the region up, he may not have made the most of his talent but I for one feel he did the region proud when he was at his best during Italia 90 and Euro 96.
  16. I was at the game last night and agree with much of what Holden said. Given made some very good saves, Beye didn't have the best match and was caught out quite a few times, Taylor played really well, looked very solid and got in the way of everything, Rozenhal lost his man for the first goal but was decent the rest of the time, Enrique looked decent and very strong, Milner was below par, Faye looked solid, Smith was pretty much atrocious (his first three attempted passes didn't get within 20 yards of a Toon player), N'Zogbia had a decent first half but faded in the 2nd, Ameobi played left wing and did nothing, Martins led the line on his own very well but his finishing was really really poor. Emre looked ok when he came on and Butt just chased around but couldn't get near the oppo. I really think we lost it in midfield as Arsenal were much quicker and far more inventive than us. Can't really argue with the result as Arsenal passed the ball round us all evening. If it wasn't for the fact that they were playing us, I would probably have really enjoyed the match given the football they played.
  17. Likewise, I'm in one of the boxes tonight too. Planning to be well on my way to drowning my sorrows on free booze before the match kicks off.
  18. Not strictly true. If he comes here and is pish, we might not be able to sell him or he might not agree to a move if the other club doesn't offer him the wages we are paying him. Think of Marcelinho when he was here or Bogarde at Chelsea. Unless the contract is heavily performance based, the monetary aspect is not a major motivation and, if players really want to, they can refuse to leave and see out their contract. I'm not saying this lad will be like that but rather the way most of these contracts are structured doesn't necessarily incentivise the players to give their all. At the end of the day, he has a track record of success in the past few seasons at Sevilla so I see no reason why he wouldn't do well for us and I don't see how the additional monetary aspect will diminish his performances.
  19. Great news, that twat has finally gone. Good riddance Freddie, you fat scumbag.
  20. They hardly left their half in both games, good tactics by Strachan though, who gets an incredible amount of abuse considering he's won 4 trophies in 2 years. Exactly, Strachan has done a great job. There is hardly anyone from their squad that I would take but Nakamura is more than just a set piece merchant, he sets a load of goals up from open play. Their team is definitely greater than the sum of their parts so they'll give us a good game.
  21. This will be the same Celtic who took Milan to extra time in the Champion's League knock out stage last year. Our match against them should be a cracker. This will be a close game.
  22. Are players expected to to declare their undying love for The Toon in every sentence they utter? The Watford game aside, I think his attitude at Newcastle has been good. As for Luque as a replacement, dear oh dear.
  23. Like that 'merican irish twat knows anything about football. If you've ever heard him call a newcastle match you would understand the sound of a drill going through your eardrum is a far more impressive opinion. And he still insists on calling it sawker. Is Tommy Smyth still referring to the goal as the 'old onion bag'? That man made Alan Partridge's commentary seem plausible.
  24. Can this guy can not play in a couple of postions? Watched him in this year's Danish Cup Final and I have a feeling that he played up front and scored.
  25. Presumably our game against Juve is conditional on Boumsong playing the full 90 mins to give us a chance.
