  1. You're all right by me, it's good to have fans from other teams on here, it's good to get another perspective. Even Danny B makes some decent points once in a while (obviously excluding the attendance, trophies, my dad's bigger than you dad chat, oh and his pub recommendations are shite). I like your suggestion for a civil partnership between him and Stevie, could be beautiful.
  2. Looks like a cycling proficiency certificate.
  3. Honestly? I don't think there's anything in it hence the general vitriol between the fans of the two clubs... I do think they're both bigger than Sunderland however. If i'm being serious I think we are both massive clubs and equals. I wanted to see how people would react What I've said all along, we're roughly of the same importance and "size", that's why there's rivalry between two clubs who've little to crow about over the past ten years or so. But some people are so desperate to win this pointless game of one-upmanship they'll get themselves into a frenzy quoting attendances from a league cup game in the mid-80's or dismiss any acheivements before/after/or during arbitrary time frames. it's tedious as fuck. Is the correct answer.
  4. Bassong, Beye, Enrique, S Taylor, Jonas.
  5. The shirt is nice, the shorts are rank. If you buy it through their club store you can get it with or without the sponsor which is quite a good idea.
  6. Won't be the same without him. It's a big ask for Norton to step into his shoes.
  7. I've not seen it but Bronson is by the same director. As is Bleeder iirc. Thanks lads, will give them both a try.
  8. Watched all of the three Pusher films as recommended by someone on here. I thought they were quality. I'd be very appreciative of any similar recommendations.
  9. Aye manc-foplite and alex can get a bit tedious (yeah, yeah, Fop knows - but honestly say it isn't true) And since when was piss-taking a here? Or does it depend on who it's taken out of? If they can't take it why do it? Take things way too seriously Fop, man man tbh. Are you saying Fop should endeavour to take things even less seriously serious (seriously) than this thread. (you nicely underlined the issue in question though ) Jesus wept, as a lot of us feared following the initial outbreak of your pish 3rd person chat on the general forum, it was only a matter of time before it spread to the footie forum. You're the chat equivalent of swine flu.
  10. Can the mods please rename this thread 'care in the community'.
  11. We have our own set of circumstances and that defines us. We have a harder set of circumstances but we do fantastically well for a club with those circumstances. You're not the only special ones. Trust me you couldn't take our club out of Lancashire, it has a completely different atmosphere to Newcastle granted so maybe you have trouble seeing it. Sunderland are down the road, get massive crowds..not as big as yours but bigger than most, but you don't see the same hot air coming from their fans. If you were more successful than us then granted, you may be able to accuse me of an inferiority complex. But feeling an inferiority complex against a side regularly referred to as a "joke club" and a "laughing stock"? Can't say I feel that. You do a little bit though don't you? That's really what prompted you to come on here in the first place. There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed off, we get people like you on here every week. Admission is the first stage in learning to cope with it.
  12. bigchrissamba has taken an absolute pasting in this thread. Say what you will about Danny, but he always puts up sterner resistance than this lad.
  13. {quote] That's complete and utter shite. Of course them being closer makes them more likely to support them. Firstly being closer to a place makes it a lot easier to go to games and for the armchair fans being nearer gives them much more of an excuse. For the ones who support them because of it being in their family, people with ties to Liverpool and Manchester are much more likely to be found in the North West than in other parts of the country since its not exactly much of a move. Trust me, you didn't grow up in Blackburn, you don't know the sheer amount of kids who grow up supporting Man Utd or Liverpool instead of Rovers. I'm sure you get some in Newcastle too, but not as many I can guarantee you. Can't blame them for wanting to support a club that plays football. You haven't finished above us in years. You haven't scored more goals than us in a season in years. You're one place above us in the fair play league this year. You were only entertaining under 90s era Keegan and Bobby Robson. So tell me, as a Newcastle fan on what grounds do you have to make that comment? Ok, I'll put this in simple terms so you can understand. You say people in Blackburn support Liverpool and Man Utd. My point was that Liverpool and Man Utd play football whereas Blackburn are just niggly long-ball merchants. These people probably want to watch football so choose Liverpool and Man Utd over the dross on display at Ewood Park. I made no mention of Newcastle, that was you. Maybe it was just your inferiority complex kicking in. Let me know if you need further clarifications as I might even be able to draw you a picture.

  15. My experience of London teams is that they tend have a fair cross-section of people supporting them. I think the only teams which have a definable set of fans are Millwall (whose fans tend to be scum) and Fulham (whose fans tend to be middle class).
  16. I just hope we mark Gerrard this time. The amount of space he had when we played them earlier in the season was a joke. It was like a parting of the waves whenever he got the ball.
  17. Went to Argentina last month. Saw River Plate v San Martin which was absolutely mental, the best atmosphere in a match I've ever been to. The atmosphere at River is supposed to be tame relative to Boca. Boca v River must be absolutely superb.
  18. ------Krul-----Harper------Forster-------------- -Beye-Edgar-Colo-Bassong-Cacapa-Taylor-- -----------------Butt----------------------------- ---------------Martins---------------------------
  19. How can someone out of contract in a month be an 'immovable'? tit! Geremi, Viduka, and Owen will all be out of contract right? I think that is (rather unbelievably) a saving of around £200k per week or £10m per year.
  20. Very true. I'll go for Bassong Beye Jonas or Enrique Regarding crap signings, I can't believe that Alan Smith hasn't been given more of a mention. Maybe he's been been off some people's radars since Where's Wally Nolan signed.
  21. Cracking player, was always going to take a little while to settle, would have made a big difference to us.
  22. Jesus wept, how fucking shit are we? Not an ounce of quality on show. Also, we are so fucking slow. If we can't score against that Portsmouth team at home then I don't see where the points are going to come from. Looked like we gave up in the last half hour too. I wish I could share other people's optimism but we just don't have the quality or heart to get the results we need.
