  1. Whereabouts are you staying? My Mrs is French so we spend a lot of time there. Know quite a few places in the 6th (Latin Quarter) or if you are near the Champs Elysees, The Bowler ( www.thebowler.fr ) will have it on. €5 pints in there all weekend too which might not sound cheap, but is for Paris.
  2. Don't want all that bigotry being brought down here. However, I do think everyone in this thread is understating how they would fare though. With the Sky money I think they'd eventually settle as a top half premier league side. I'd say they are equal with us size-wise and are bigger than the likes of Villa and Everton. I agree at the moment that Scottish football is shite but they are operating on a different financial playing field.

  4. Did it twice and, like you, was fucked for a few days after. Felt like my hamstrings were going to snap. I'm sure the pain gets better once your muscles are used to it but I fucked it off after two attempts and a few days walking round like Albert Steptoe.
  5. That's not my experience at all. I've been here 12 years and haven't experienced that at all. In fact, I've only been conscious of racism when I go to places like Leeds, Liverpool and Scotland (I don't come across it on trips back to Newcastle). I suppose it depends on who you mix with. As for London having a "massive racism problem", that is just utter bollocks, I reckon I might have picked up on it in the last 12 years if that was the case.
  6. I only quoted it. While I agree with most of Dr Gloom's post, I'd like to distance myself from that particular part.
  7. Agree with most of this. The tube is fairly grim but it is very comprehensive and absolutely fine outside of rush hour. There are loads of public transport options. Also, the people aren't as bad as people make out, probably more guarded more tgan anything. It is more expensive than the rest of the UK but wages are much higher. If you want to live in a truly multicultural city that has something to offer everyone then get yourself down here. Spent last weekend on a stag do in Liverpool which I found depressing as fuck. The main attraction of the city being (an admittedly nice) dock or a square with the sort of boozers and punters you'd expect to find in Malia. It made me very grateful to live in London.

  10. Who was the third one? The link doesn't work. Going off your description, I'm going for Daniel Cordone.
  11. I'm just yanking CG's chain. He likes to have a dig, lump me in with Leazes because I respect the views of someone with decades of match-going experience and defend the bloke when people put words in his mouth. Fact is though, the only 'narrative' I've ever had is that Ashley is a liar and I wouldn't trust him as far as his belly reaches over his belt. That won't change no matter what. If we win the champions league I still wouldn't have time for the twat. No idea why CG thinks I'd be bitter. I was the one telling the likes of uber positive CT his hopes were too modest after promotion. He's running around demanding plaudits for his positive outlook when not too long ago he was saying to me... http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/27275-back-to-the-future/page__view__findpost__p__731210 I'm fully vindicated truth be told. Fair enough. I don't think anyone would disagree with you on Ashley being untrustworthy and a liar. And a fat cunt for that matter! I still like what he's doing with the club though.
  12. That's patent nonsense. I've said good things about the current regime going back months. All you've done is follow the mainstream media narrtive slavishly regarding Pards and Ashley. If you want to congratulate yourself for that be my guest. Apart from which you stood by Obertans for how many months??? When Chez was bullying those of us who feared we'd sell Carroll back in December 2010, and we subsequently did and dropped down the league, we all largley had the good grace not to mention it to him too much, we left him to reshape his 'narrative'. Every post from Chez since we beat West Brom has been dripping with self-congratulation and nose rubbing. Long may he have reason to blow his own horn like. In fairness, from Carroll leaving, until the end of the season, we dropped from 9th, being 2 points above 13th, to finishing 12th, 2 points below 9th. Hardly a massive shift compared to where we are now having had time to able to spend (some of) the Carroll money and improve the team.
  13. Wonder what Spurs record is since their talk about being in the title race? I think Harry must be a little red faced about it, but then we'll never know for sure. They seem to have gone off the boil ever since Capello resigned and everyone started talking about Redknapp for England.
  14. Hughton looking dapper as per usual. Massive contrast between Hughton's humility and Fat Sam's utterly deluded self promotion, I'm delighted to see Hughton winning.

  18. Like people say, Whitechapel is a bit of a dump but close enough to lot's of places. I'm a zone one man myself (Tower Hill - which also has a Bodeans!) as I cannot stand commuting. Being able to walk to work is brilliant although I can understand why people want to live a bit further outside. We can't all be lah di dah Primrose Hill types like Matt though hob nobbing with the likes of Jude and Sienna and what not.

  24. Or you could maybe treat her special all at the right time rather than being prompted to do so on some arbitrary date. If anything, it's a fairly hollow gesture. Nobody is advocating neglecting their Mrs, a lot a people just find the whole Valentines Day thing contrived.
