  1. Amen to that. He has a lot of interesting things to say, most of which I agree with. Unfortunately, he let’s himself down by saying everything in the most irritating and condescending manner possible. He could be telling me that I’d won the lottery and I’ll still want spark the little fucker out.
  2. So if it is 70% effective, it leads to much weaker symptoms should you still catch COVID, it’s cheap and easy to store and it prevents asymptomatic infection (so helps to provide herd immunity), that means it is pretty fucking good? I’m only asking as you know way more about these things way more than the rest of us.
  3. It used to be a thing round about then. There was a US version too. This really tall and skinny basketball player fought William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry. I also saw Screech from ‘Saved By The Bell’ batter someone half his size. It was fairly undignified to say the very least.
  4. An assist and a goal from Big Joe. I hereby retract the slanderous post I was about to submit.
  5. I got French citizenship (you can have dual citizenship with France) a few months ago. A British passport is all of a sudden going to a lot less useful. It will be blue though, so that will more than make up for the long queues at passport control.
  6. It’s an awful choice to have to make. Both my parents are in their 70s and we’d need to get a flight or long train to go and see them. Airports and train stations will be chaos between the 23rd-27th so we don’t want to pick something up en route. We’ve decided to postpone until February in the hope that they will have been vaccinated by then.
  7. Shep stepping up a few weight divisions there. I might actually pay to watch that.
  8. Brilliant, can’t wait. What’s on the undercard for that, Bernie Winters v Frank Bough?
  9. Yes but there is also the undercard which is a basketball player fighting some gimp off YouTube. Who the fuck wants to watch that, let alone pay for it? I’m not sure I understand the 21st century.
  10. 90% is still pretty decent. I’m sure I read that the threshold for approval is 50%. Just give the expensive one to high risk people and give the rest of us the cheap one. Renton seems to be pretty knowledgable on this stuff so hopefully he’ll be able to tell us what it all means. Anyway, light at the end of the tunnel, thank fuck.
  11. I’d get the tenderiser out if I was you. You’ll be doing yourself a favour.
  12. You order exactly what you had the previous day, pay for it, and tell the kitchen not to bother with the food. How is that for a mechanism?
  13. ‘Disagreeable’? That’s the sort of comment I’d expect some posh old twat to make about a successful black working class footballer. I can’t be arsed with F1 but I like him. Compared to his peers, a lot of whom were born into vast wealth, he has done it the hard way. He does a lot for other causes (children’s charities etc) and he has used his status to further BLM etc. He is also one of the greatest British Sportsmen of all time and isn’t half as boring as most drivers. However, on the other hand, he wears funny clothes. As for tax dodging, you were all for it the other day when it came to second properties.
  14. Does that make Joelinton ‘The Brazilian McBurnie’ or McBurnie ‘The Scottish Joelinton’?
  15. Parasites, every single one of us!
  16. The people who own second properties take more than their fair share of the housing stock which makes it more difficult, and more expensive, for people to get on the property ladder. I think it is only fair that CGT on property sales is raised to the same level as income tax (and I say this a someone who owns more than one property).
  17. I’m all in favour of VAR. Didn’t we go about a year without winning a penalty a couple of years back? We’ve had a fair few since VAR came in so it seems to even out the dodgy decisions that used to favour the top six.
  18. I think we need to have a three strikes policy on this thread. With The Mindy Project and now this, you’re one quirky US comedy recommendation away from being banned from this particular thread.
  19. Aside from one day in September, I’ve been working from home since March. My wife has been working from home the entire time. It has come a bit of a shock to her just how much of a lazy bastard I am at work.
  20. We love them, just in small doses.
  21. Don’t worry, time is on your side. I’m in my early forties, only passed my test 4 years ago (a total fluke) and haven’t driven since. I can say, with a fair degree of confidence, that you’re still a better driver than I am.
  22. Fair point, maybe you could send us a blow by blow account of the latest loaf you’ve been baking. That is, unless you’re not too busy playing your Dungeons and Dragons games on your phone.
  23. I agree with that. The amount spent on Infrastructure in London (particularly on transport) is completely unfair. The bill for HS2, just to shave 30 mins off the journey to London (or whatever it is) is criminal. That amount of money could make a huge difference to the areas that have traditionally been overlooked.
