Give me the Imperial Empire over the Rebel Alliance any day of the week, Thatch for me represented someone who got things done and took no shit off anyone while doing it. One thing nobody can say is that she was a weak PM, that's not to say some of the political ideas she supported weren't wrong though, personally I would prefer our country to be known for more people like her than the wimps that are about these days - give people too much choice and they just squabble and whinge amongst themselves causing chaos in the process.
-
Out of curiosity did she cause all of you grief or are you just jumping on the Thatcher hating bandwagon because you're from a Labour loving area? Thinking about it, are you all old enough to remember her stint as PM?

A simulation being run by a superior being/force skirts very closely to the idea of an omnipresent god figure... perhaps the basis for ancient religions?
-
I don't like either team but I want Chelsea to win this just for the sour, prune-faced mumblings of Dogleash afterwards.

I'd sack Llambias

Don't Scousers want justice for everything? What's their minute silence about today? Victim-complex-tastic!

I guess Spurs will be getting back to normal now that Appy Arry isn't the new England manager. -

4-3-3 away from home again, not liking the look of that... I have a very bad feeling about this. -
I've just been eating some blue cheese which, if the wrapper is to be believed, went out of date 2 weeks ago - it tasted perfectly fine. I was wondering what other folk on here were like with going by expiry dates and best befores.

FA given Permission to speak to Roy Hodgson over England job

Uncle Woy!!! The media will crucify him before he even gets started, though I seem to recall them doing something similar to a previous England manager that ended up relatively successful in the grand scheme of things. I actually quite like the bloke, my only regret will be not seeing Tottenham go down the swanny. -

Big losses against fellow 'big' teams, not shit like Wigan - even when Arsenal lost to Blackburn they still managed to get three consolation goals. -

I think you're twisting what I said but I'll admit I was in a strop. Meh, we'll see how the rest of the results go this weekend I suppose. -

Bit harsh, we've done well wearing it in the past, I'm all for brighter away shirts, it worked well with the old yellow one too -

Alright, in hindsight that's probably more how I feel... my anger just got the better of me. -

Fair enough, I suppose I can agree with that - I don't think it's all shit though, for what it's worth I think we've had a fantastic season for our standards, it just gets my goat when we capitulate against wanky teams like Wigan. On a side note it is amusing to see me getting put in with Leazes just because I don't agree with some of the trendy opinions. I'm not a conformist but that's why I'm here and not on N-O -

No, I'm not suggesting that. What I'm saying is do you see the other top four teams putting in performances like that or having as many heavy loses as us against lower teams over the course of the season? -

If we strengthen in the summer and only get rid of dead wood I'll take it all back and eat massive portions of humble pie. -

I'm glad some of you delusionists are still feeling positive after that first half, I don't see the 'real' big teams with performances like that or conceding that many goals. -

THE one redeeming possibility from this match so far is the potential that Wigan getting a result could assist in relegating Villa - other than that I'm fucking disgusted, fucking joke of a team that we are. It's times like this when I can't help but think we've fluked the position that we're in in the league, this is more like our usual shit. Next season when we've got all the extra games from the Europa League and a weakened squad from selling some of our big players it'll all balance out to us struggling to finish in the top fucking ten. -

I fucking despair... of all the things that we should have been doing today it was not underestimating Wigan, they've managed some very unexpected wins through that very thing. Unbelievable. Pardew's attacking, 4-3-3 tactics away from home is suicidal, he's going to need some serious sorting out at half time followed by a total game of the season like the Arsenal match last year. -
To be fair it looks he's doing a better job than the last two Chelsea managers
-
Good grief, Chelsea were lucky but Barca were shit - have they just been rumbled? If Chelsea win the final and we come 4th in the league that'll be all our usual bad luck we've been missing this season come back to bite us in the ass.
