So it won't affect his Man Utd medical then? Ah well...

Fred also wanted Robson after Keegan but couldn't get him at the time, if he'd got him I wonder if things would have been different. What I'm saying is Fred had it set in his mind which managers he wanted but couldn't get them initially when he wanted - who knows where we'd be now if Fred had gone from Keegan to Robson to Sam? It would seem he had a longer term plan of who should manage NUFC but just couldn't get the right men at the right time and then made mistakes filling in for his number one choices. I'm happy to see how Sam does, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt over the Panorama incident until he gives me cause to complain. And yes, given the right circumstances (as any manager needs) I think he could potentially win us silverware.

Is it me or did the Serbian lezzer that won it look like Bilbo Baggins out of the old Lord of the Rings cartoon? Bloody hobbits.

It must be about time The UK boycotted this stupid competition? (I use the term 'competition' in the loosest fashion). The Eastern European countries have taken any entertainment out of it, it's the same old shite year in year out - they could decide the votes before ever listening to the songs. Pathetic dross.

Houlier was just a rumour, the man didn't confirm anything that I heard or read so linking him is a moot point. Sven was the only person to throw his hat in and to be honest I'd rather have Sam over him.

I'm fed up with people moaning all the time and not giving anyone a chance regardless of who signs (unless it's actually the very god of football management himself!). It's just getting really tedious that everytime we are in this situation there's always a portion of fans willing to bitch and whine about things and generally be unsatisfiable - no wonder the rest of the footballing community thinks we're a bunch of clowns. Fickle doesn't even begin to describe some people.

Good news. Nailed on to stay now, tbh. Trying to cover all aspects whatever happens during the summer, Oliver is as good a journo as I am a nuclear engineer (and I'm not btw)
-
A complete fecking arsehole, can't stand the bloke but sadly I can't deny that he's good manager.
-
They're both embarassing but personally I find Oliver the worst of the two because the media and other supporters seem to have it in their head that he's 'the voice of the fans', which he really is not.

I've got no problem with Owen playing for England as long as he's fit enough... however, if he goes against the wishes of his wage payers to do so and gets himself injured I would sue the arse off him and the FA if I were running NUFC.

I just hope the gypsy theiving scouser's unemployment benefit comes out in time for them to buy their tickets or there will be a lot of teles stolen so they can watch the match... dirty bin-dippers

Have you seen any of our ladies team? We have the Coleman sisters... not sure how old they are though
-
I know we need someone to take charge for the last game and it makes sense that it'd be the assistant manager... but please don't let Fat Freddy see this thread and get any ideas, you know what he's like, he could do another Roeder!
-
As much as I hate to say it, beggars can't be choosers. There aren't anymore 'Bobby Robsons' out there and very few have faith that Alan Shearer could be the next Kevin Keegan. It'd be great if we could attract a top, world class manager but it's never going to happen for several reasons. Roeder did what needed to be done for the good of the club (albeit probably with a helping shove from the fat man), we all know what needs to be done at the club but maybe, just maybe this can be looked on as a nearly clean slate - with a bit of luck we 'might' get someone who can reform things and start a proper rebuilding process and get us back on track.
-
Anal contradicts himself on a daily basis, knows nothing about football and has his own little dreamworld where he's kept in the loop on everything going on at board level at Newcastle United - crap journo, embarassing that other parts of the media get him on to talk about us when he obviously doesn't have a clue.

Scrolling text accross the bottom of SSN - Newcastle Manager Glenn Roeder Resigns with immediate effect - Breaking News
-
My feelings entirely, hope Roeder has a more successful furutre elsewhere and a long healthy life as well.
-
But how does that stand if it's a resignation rather than a sacking? On a seperate note, Glenn deserves some respect if he has resigned, shows him to be a bigger man than pricks like Souness ever will be by stepping down and admitting he's not the man for the job instead of dragging things out and causing more pain to the club. If anyone deserves grief it the fat fool who gave him the job in the first place, had he have given it to the right candidate previously we might have been in a better position now AND still had a decent academy boss still.

Nothing confirmed on the web yet

I hope the fat twat chokes on a pasty

Good luck Sir Booby, a gentleman and legend.

England's Micheal Owen could leave for free next summer
TheMoog replied to Super_Steve_Howey's topic in Newcastle Forum
But he's only been here two seasons, still I see where you're coming from - things would hopefully be better under a new manager. If Owen did use that as an excuse though I'd hope he'd have the common sense to stay away from Newcastle after the club stuck by him after being injured while playing for another team. Still reckon Freddy's got a just case over the FA tbh. -
Shame about Glenn, he seems like a really nice bloke, managing is a bit beyond him but he would have been excellent as the head of the academy... oh
-
Should have had Campbell last summer tbh, just shows how backwards thinking Rodent is. Both are experienced but at 32 and 33 getting both wouldn't be that good in my eyes, I think Taylor would improve alongside Campbell anyways so we wouldn't need Hypia. Would rather we went for a new right and left back as well as Campbell than get Hypia, sort the back four out and we'd be a lot closer to being sorted out as a whole.
-
Question is, would it be better to sell Martins or Owen? If we were getting rid of one of these 'midgets', at least Oba isn't injured all the time. Saying that if we get Big Sam as manager it might go some way to sorting out the team's fitness in general.
