It’s nothing to do with colour. I lived in London for years and think that immigration worked well at the numbers we had during the 70s, 80s and 90s. There was no sudden surge in demand on social services and culturally we were enriched at a pace where it was (mostly) harmonious. Now it’s running at levels where it’s inevitable that it won’t work.

The right want to stop the unchecked mass demographic changes that are happening to our country. There are lots of Labour voters who feel the same.

Let’s not pretend that the US government has been a big success over the last 70 years. Its been a fucking shit show if we’re honest. It’s 36 TRILLION dollars in debt and everybody is miserable. Clearly after the last 4 years nobody can think that Biden was in charge. Kamala would have been more of the same. This is a new direction for sure and it’s either going to work or we’re all going to die.

Couldn’t disagree more, other than he was met with stony silence. There is a feeling among big government types that they are in charge and their populations are a mere nuisance. You could see in their smirks. I (and many others) happen to see things the other way round which is that the leaders are given a mandate to do the will of their people. Whatever that may be. Sneaking through treaties and having clandestine meetings at shadowy events like Davos isn’t what I personally want even if you and others here do. After the Matt Le Tissier holding a sheep meme is posted I’d be interested to hear why you aren’t concerned about the way big government behaves. That’s quite a hot take about me from a standing start. We’ll see what stage two of this process is but for now stage one seems long overdue.

Nobody in this day and age ought to be assuming their news sources are being unbiased. The best I’ve found is Forbes channel on YouTube cause it just shows the speeches without giving comment or cutting them down into soundbites that can be spun. I actually think Trump and Musk are doing the right thing about government spending but you can be the judge by watching it. Which is how the news should be IMO.
