Had the pleasure of chatting with SBR on Sunday morning in the foyer at the Copthorne on Sunday morning. While his stroke has obviously caused some damage, the old fella still looks well and was as concerned as me about us getting a win against the smoggies. Then when the Boro team came out to board their bus, suggested we have sly kicks at them but being the honourable man that he is (unlike me) he politely declined. Made my day that a man of his standing was willing to take time to have a chat. True Legend of the game.

Amanda Platell who now works for the Mail was on Question Time last night :icon_lol: Yes, I saw her on that. She's full of shit too. <_< I can't wait to see Patrick Barclay's piece on Sunday about Wise (especially as you lot will all owe me 20p if I'm right ) You are already a winner Paul Hayward in today's issue has stuck the boot in with great glee.

Won a bet with myself that WKL would be playing the race/religion card against us for tomorrow's game. If only the stupid cow was aware of what ACTUALLY happened in smogsville regarding Mido but better not let facts spoil another opportunity to lambast NUFC eh? http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2251211,00.html

Aye and it will annoy them that the 3 appointments probably show that Ashley IS in it for the long term and not to just make a quick buck.

Dennis Wise quits Leeds to sign up for Newcastle revolution
East Stander replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
Has the latest brochure for KK been changed this time too?? From the Guardian: The decision to approach Wise last week was taken by Newcastle's chairman, Chris Mort, rather than manager Kevin Keegan, who is still looking for a No2 after Alan Shearer chose not to return to St James' Park last week. From the BBC: Keegan himself would not be drawn on the subject of Wise at a Newcastle media briefing on Monday. "Obviously, there are going to be some moves at this club, but I think the chairman (Chris Mort) has really got to come out and say what that's all about later this week." -
What a waste of money for a centre forward with worse control than Frank Pingel and whose reputation is "dining out" on that Spurs goal, imo.
-
Big mistake KK getting this Mckay money grabber and agree with Gemmill about how this will affect Beye who is by far a better player.
-
Hmm, not too sure as the best £40 mill worth centre forward (according to the dog molester) in the premiership tore him to bits last week.

Newcastle and England midfielder Joey Barton has been charged with assault. The footballer was arrested along with Andrew Barton, 19, and 27-year-old Nadine Wilson on Church Street in Liverpool city centre on Thursday. Joey Barton and Ms Wilson are charged with common assault and affray. Andrew Barton is charged with affray and assault occasioning actual body harm. Ms Wilson, of Huyton, and Andrew Barton, from Widnes, have both been bailed. The player remains in custody. All three are due to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court on Friday.

Yeah, especially the bit about looking beaten already coming off the bus. A whiff of hindsight in the air Anal??

Top marks to Chris Mort for organising cost price coach travel for the cup game at Stoke. The Back Page might not be as pleased but at least this regime is trying to help boost the away support for a tough cup game.

Hmm, so there is no mass call from the fair and unbiased press calling for Eboue's head after his stud raking challenge yesterday? Obviously hasn't stubbed a cigar out in anyone's eye at his last club

Such a deserved honour to a true gentleman and legend of the game. Well said Fergie and good to see him willing to abandon his BBC boycott for Sir Bobby. Just watched the re-run and blubbered even more than the first time.

Got a lot of respect for Steve Gibson and what he has done for his football club. An interesting piece on him in the Times today where he reveals how McClaren used the smoggs for his own self promotion and almost joined us. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle3021988.ece

Quite a few of the papers had this story yesterday so either Citeh, us or Owen himself "released" it again? Wish he could have a run of about 10 games on the spin to see what level he is going to come back to although I reluctantly agree that it appears his legs have gone. I'm more confident that Mort would at least make the manc mackems pay near to top whack though.

I get the feeling that there could be another "I need to move for family reasons" transfer request in the offing after his disclosure about his nan having cancer.

Obvious one you've probably already had suggested: "Coming Home Newcastle" by Buster?

The season ticket pre-payment thingy

Yep same for me . I'd just checked my account online before coming on here and nothing out so far this month. Makes you wonder if Fat Fred isn't as thick as we thought, maybe he's hijacked wor dosh for his next "Northern Man" club? -
Any day now. My credit card, for example, was debited at 2 pm today.

Not 100% sure on the actual rules but Porn King Sullivan is a shareholder of Wist Ham as well as part owner of Burberry City. On a similar vein weren't there also grumblings about Monkey's Heid being a shareholder of the mackems when he was Leeds manager but nothing happened?

David Kelly for me too. Fortunate to be a guest of matchday sponsor that day so was able to give the man himself a big hug when he came in for his MOTM award The one I wanted to celebrate as much was Liam's freekick at Joker Park but seeing as I was in the Clock Stand, I somehow managed to keep it together!!

I might be posting on the wrong forum ( but my ITK source told me the following on Sunday: Juski's signing has already been agreed. Given will be leaving in Jan for big fee (although he is having a new house built for himself near Morpeth) Harper's agent had offers from Derby, Smoggs and Reading as soon as he was dropped for Given. And best of all: it's written into Given's contract that if he is fully fit, he plays!! Right lads, feel free to rip this post to bits (although my source is quite sound)

This morning I received a letter from them saying they need another new mandate form for the 2008/9 season ticket scheme. When I had gone to the Box Office to apply, I filled one in and made sure the lass had stapled it to form I'd filled in at the time. Looking good for a duplicate withdrawal from my account on Oct 17th!!

Boskic £63k per week?

I take it then that the club are also confident we aren't going to be relegated and forced to drop prices for Championship football
