1. Is Ameobi still getting injections until he has another op? 89743 Apparently so until the summer. It does seem dodgy that Bramble too is having to have injections before every game, cannot be good for you that but with Carr out and the aussie missing man not match fit (until the World Cup gets closer) then Titus carries on. Fair play to him for that and he did have a good game on Saturday although there wasn't that much of a threat from Pompey.
2. Only 3 injured now! Carr, Taylor and Owen. What a difference 5 days can make eh?
3. The esteemed (by himself) Mr Oliver has been missing in action for quite a while now. On his hols/bulletted/gagged by FS? Anyone know? His "knowledgeable" take on the whole affair has been sorely missed
4. And no mention of easing him in with a couple of reserve team runouts. The spec/hope is having him on the bench against Pompey!! After so long out, after his last injury recovery debacle, looks like numpty is going to push him no matter what a la Taylor, Emre etc etc. This pillock nevers seems to play recovered injured players in the stiffs but maybe that is because he will then have to go to watch instead of being with his family
5. Just copied from FA's site: The tie of the Fifth Round between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield will be screened live on BBC. The clash of the two giants, which will kick-off at 12.30pm on Saturday 18 February, is the first of two live games that day. Newcastle United's home tie with Championship side Southampton will also be shown on BBC, kicking-off at 5.40pm. FA Cup heroes Colchester will feature live on Sky TV on Sunday 19 February. Phil Parkinson's side, who beat Derby County 3-1 in the Fourth Round, will play the winner of Everton and Chelsea at 4pm. The all-Premiership clash between Aston Villa and Manchester City will be the fourth live game of the weekend, with BBC screening this game which kicks-off at 6.30pm.
6. It's all the rage now don't you know. Jennifer Anniston was photographed in Heat doing it. Hey, I've got a rumour... 84848 Could this be a reason why one of our players was sold by our manager in the summer, because he alledgedly isn't a "man's man"?
7. Plus even he knows that he is unlikely to get another job as a manager (unless his Rangers buddy bails him out) and we are his pension.
8. They sure did exist then here's a link to the Forest Report: http://www.nufc.com/html/1997-05-11forest-h.html
9. Hope that is true but considering the board only consists of 3 in the Hall camp (Junior, his sister and junior's pal from Gibraltar) and the 2 Shepherds, then the Halls have the voting advantage unless, of course, Revill is now on fatso's side.
10. Wonder if this little venture is in any way responsible for why we have no transfer funds available? 81192 I know what you are thinking Craig. He cannot use the club's money to buy shares for himself BUT by not burdening the club with any more debt for player purchases it would help to make it more attractive for a buyout. Or if he does take it private then he'll want the least amount of loans outstanding as possible. We can only speculate (unfortunately) until he reaches the 30% figure and has to divulge his plans
11. He's bought another 234,527 shares on Tuesday too. Now holds 27.47% of the club and has spent about £283,000 in the last 2 days on buying up shares. There has to be something in the offing as I cannot see any reason to invest in the club at the present can you? I'd be very surprised if he could afford to buy out all the remaining shares if he gets to the 30% figure and has to make an offer to all shareholders.
12. Just noticed Shepherd Offshore bought 410,000 shares (an extra 0.31% holding of the club) yesterday. Considering they received shares instead of cash for the last dividend, I wonder what at the moment gives them confidence in buying more shares? Of course they will earn even more in dividends as a result of this but any thoughts?
13. But the finances aren't going to be any better in the summer, are they? Next years financial results are also going to disastrous, not that that will stop Shepherd and Hall dipping their grubby fingers into the pot. 77954 You are absolutely right about the finances, my point (not well put I admit!) was that fatso won't have to pay out the £5 mill compo. The PLC does contravene many areas of corporate governance in the accounts, too many to mention and bore non-accountants but I'll highlight this one which refers to the dastardly duo: "The remuneration package for Executive Directors does not formally link a significant proportion of their total remuneration to corporate and individual performance (Provision B1.1)"
14. It's from today's Telegraph. And no matter how much venom there is to get rid of Souness, the first paragraph highlights why fatso cannot afford to do it, imho. I'm sure he is waiting until the summer knowing fine well that we have no earthly chance of getting sixth place, winning the cup or improving on last season's position before having enough facts to add to reasons for Souness having to go.
15. Taken from Club site NEWCASTLE United boss Graeme Souness received a timely boost with the return of five players for the Boxing Day trip to Liverpool. Celestine Babayaro, Stephen Carr, Emre, Charles N'Zogbia and Steven Taylor have all been declared fit to make the trip to Anfield. The manager will select from the following 20-man squad: Shola Ameobi, Celestine Babayaro, Jean Alain Boumsong, Lee Bowyer, Titus Bramble, Martin Brittain, Stephen Carr, Michael Chopra, Lee Clark, Robbie Elliott, Emre, Amady Faye, Shay Given, Steve Harper, Albert Luque, Charles N'Zogbia, Michael Owen, Peter Ramage, Alan Shearer, Nolberto Solano, Steven Taylor. Midfielder Scott Parker is suspended for the Liverpool game, while Kieron Dyer and Craig Moore are still missing through injury.
16. Illness prevented me from attending todays AGM so i just wondered if any forum member went and what was asked of Fatso? Thanks BTW seen the vote results on Uk wire
17. Could well be but it's all guess work, hearsay and tittle tattle, isn't it? Now it's out the bag he's got a mystery illness the club should come clean though, otherwise the speculation will continue. 65951 Agreed. My ahem "source" is very reputable but the club has more to lose by this secretive policy for Dyer.
18. Alex McLeish is set to continue as Rangers manager until at least the end of the season, BBC Sport understands. An announcement on McLeish's Ibrox future is expected at 1730 GMT when he is likely to say he is staying on. On Tuesday, McLeish became the first manager of a Scottish club to reach the last 16 of the Champions League. But the former Hibs and Motherwell boss has endured a poor domestic run, which has left Rangers trailing 17 points behind SPL leaders Celtic. Responding to the slump in form, Ibrox chairman David Murray announced in mid-November that McLeish's position would be reviewed after the final Champions League group match. It was the meek exit from the CIS Insurance Cup at the hands of Celtic that prompted Murray to publicly voice his concern. Since then Rangers have slipped further behind in the league race with defeats at Celtic and Hibs and were held at home by Falkirk. While Murray did not demand that McLeish win all of these games he did ask for an increased level of performance. But Rangers' gutsy draw with Inter Milan on Tuesday may have earned the manager a reprieve. McLeish has been hampered by a host of injuries to key players but an expensively assembled squad, by Scottish standards, was not expected to be trailing Hearts, Hibs and Kilmarnock in the run up to Christmas. He was busy in the transfer market over the summer in a bid to strengthen the defending champions but the new faces have been largely disappointing. BBC Sport understands former Lyon manager Paul Le Guen has rejected more than one approach. Charlton boss Alan Curbishley denies there has been any contact and Newcastle's Graeme Souness has ruled out a return to Ibrox. Media speculation about a possible successor to McLeish has been frenzied and fanciful. Former Hearts chief George Burley, Motherwell manager Terry Butcher, Preston's Billy Davies and ex-Monaco coach Didier Deschamps are others to have been linked with the position.
19. Latest on physio.com is that Carr, Owen and Taylor are VERY doubtful while there is no return date for Dyer. Thierry, fill your boots my son
20. The club do know what is wrong and the media have agreed not to bring it into the public domain, it isn't HIV
21. Assistant to his mate with centre parting as a "buffer" perhaps?
22. From club site TURKISH midfielder Emre will sit out Saturday's home game with Aston Villa after picking up a hamstring injury in the Carling Cup clash at Wigan. The former Inter Milan star limped out of the 1-0 defeat at the JJB Stadium on Wednesday, and boss Graeme Souness confirmed that his summer signing will not figure against David O'Leary's side. "Emre had a scan yesterday and it shows he's got a strain," said Souness. "It's high up on his hamstring, but it's not a major tear so we'll have to wait and see how he is in a few days. "But he will play no part on Saturday against Aston Villa." Souness is also without Michael Owen (groin), while Celestine Babayaro is banned and Stephen Carr remains on the sidelines. Kieron Dyer won't figure, nor will Steven Taylor who is still some way off a return after damaging his shoulder, while Craig Moore is the other player in the treatment room. Shola Ameobi and Titus Bramble both return to the squad after missing the Wigan game with minor injuries. Souness will choose his team from the following squad: Ameobi, Boumsong, Bowyer, Bramble, Brittain, Chopra, Clark, Elliott, Faye, Given, Harper, Luque, N'Zogbia, Parker, Ramage, Shearer, Solano.
23. Not quite strictly true this. We have already accounted for £2,369,000 in the latest accounts for Robson's payoff so it has been completely written off so nothing to prevent a payout to Souness and crew. The Agm on Dec 14th could be very interesting. 63522 I was under the impression we still hadn't 'settled' with SBR though - fuck knows what the settlement actually was! 63526 Tried to have a word with him today at his book signing in Darlington but the queue was huge and Waterstones staff were desperately trying to get evryone through in the allotted hour. I wasn't even buying his book as I have the previous version and wasn't going to pay extra for the additional chapter, read that in Tesco
