I prefer Band of Brothers, but The Pacific is absolutely brilliant.

All good. £200, a Paul Weller DVD, 4 books all of which I wanted anyway, a box of chocs, 8 bottles of beer, some smellies.

Done. Said they need to hold regular meetings and that I thought the 3 month option for members meetings seemed about right + getting roadshows restarted and address issues brought up by resignation of committee members and why an elected member is currently suspended.

You are absolutely right re NUST. One of the reasons that the organisation was formed (as NUSC) after Keegan was so that the fans would have a voice and an organisation to help channel, direct or advice on any actions. Little over 2 years on, and a similar situation arises, and what has NUST done this week? Put out a bland statement which says little more than Mike Ashley shouldn't have done that - tut tut. By the way, come to our comedy night on Thursday. And then today felt like a re-run of Hull before the game. A lot of anger and banners and sporadic little groups doing their own thing. The trust should have been there for people this week, that it hasn't been is disgusting and to me it's as if the current committee couldn't give a shit about the trust's own members. The trust itself is a great idea, and I think those of us who are members have to start putting on the pressure, because the way things are going NUST will disappear which would be a crying shame. If it's run properly and engages with the members and the community, it CAN be a fantastic organisation.

Good result, aye Liverpool were shite but it was still a good performance. As George Caulkin of the Times tweeter they showed the team spirit nurtured by Hughton. The result does not change the fact that Hughton's sacking was a disgrace.

It's his birthday tomorrow. I reckon we should wish him a happy birthday at the game

Who feels passionately enough about this to jack it next season?
Tom_NUFC replied to a topic in Newcastle Forum
I probably will still go. I feel for myself that it's important to support the team, MY team. That said, I completely understand anyone who's thinking of jacking it in until he's gone. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. You've just got to go with how you feel and what you're comfortable with. -
What sort of reception will Pardew get tomorrow

I think the fact that you don't have a voice at the moment is the very reason why you should sign back up and get them out. That's what we're fighting for. I also don't think you should worry too much about differing opinions. When we first set up NUSC, I wrote an article in True Faith which said it was for all NUFC regardless if their views and opinions and that the members would shape the organisation. I still stand by that, that is what should be happening, everyone expressing their views and having a voice. And of course there's the you can't please all of the people all of the time addage with that, but that's inevitable in a democratic organisation and it's a million miles away from not having a voice or being able to get answers and no one (except those running it) being happy.

I'm not sure I'd want Freddy back. I don't think he's as nasty as Ashley. More like a buffoon to Ashley's bastard. He made bad kneejerk decisions. Souness was appointed because he thought Bobby had gone soft on player discipline, so his reaction was to appoint someone with a 'toughguy' reputation. But of course Souness was too much of a tough guy. Any slight trait, such as Laurent Robert having a bit of a sulk at times was taken as a personal slight against him. It wasn't, it was just how Robert was. Freddy simply didn't think. He'd act and then think right, what do I do now? And that would lead to a desperate and badly thoughtout solution. Then of course there was the whole financial side, which I wouldn't be happy with, spending money we didn't have.

Cheers Chris.

Not really much to add, just that I'm saddened.

If two of the cttee have resigned, citing lack of communication as the main driver then what fucking chance have us mere mortals got in finding out what the plans are? The chair should realise how bad things are given the fact Bill posted his resignation on the forum - That speaks volumes to me. Your chances of finding stuff out aren't great, but I guess you've probably worked that one out for yourself. It's up to the members to put pressure on and force them to. The chair should realise how bad things are, but I honestly think the chair doesn't give a shit. Again, the way to make him is put the pressure on.

Yet again a decent committee member feels that they have to resign. Like Bill, Neil has put a lot of his time into the trust and was involved to genuinely create a trust that represents and listens to it's members. For me it says a lot that two committee members have felt the need to resign. The committee has a lot of questions to answer, and I feel as though they are failing the members.
