Agreed. We lost out on Michael Carrick because of Keegan's youth policy. Paul Brayson looked to be a brilliant prospect, but just rotted away and ended up in the lower leagues, because Keegan wasn't arsed about the academy, and therefore the youth team didn't get the breaks or guidance they should have been getting. Keegan did a lot of good for NUFC, but those who say he looked at the short term and as a result the long term (such as the youth teams) suffered are dead right.

Yeah, I lost the ticket book a few years ago. I rang up and told them, and they got me a new one, which I had to collect from the ticket office before a game. The replacement book cost me £20. But as I said, that was a few years ago now. I'm sure you can get a replacement, but it might cost you more than £20 nowadays.

Heard that one about Ashington as well. There was a crash in Ashington the otherday actually. A truck load of Reptiles were being taken to a Pet Shop, and the van came off the road and spilt the reptiles all over the place. A police spokesman described the scene as turtle mayhem. see, that's a bad joke.

It would certainly help if public transport was taken out of private hands and state run. Get rid of Nexus and bring back the PTE to run the Metro and all buses. Like Briget says, the Metro needs to be manned. There shouldn't be unmanned stations. Also, get some barriers in to all Metro stations. Not the ones that we used to have (and are still there at some stations -although not working). They can be (and were) jumped over. Get some big London Underground style ones installed at ALL stations. If you have them and manned stations, no one can get onto the trains without a ticket. That would cut the Charver ratio down on the Metro significantly.

Somewhere between 24 & 48 hours could fairly probable if we don't get anything tomorrow.

Ticket Pricing is definitely a problem. Clubs are greedy. Prices don't need to be anywhere near as high as they are. It's down to greed, pure and simple. You can pay £8 to watch Bayern Munich. Charge £8-10 for a standard match ticket, and about £5 for kids, lower season ticket prices and that would help a lot. People are being priced out, and we're not talking about people on the dole or anything, this is normal people on average incomes.

If you believe some reports this morning, he could be gone after Man City, or even possibly after Blackburn

Quatro. Does anyone remember that? The closest thing around now taste wise is Tropical Tango, but not even that is quite the same. I used to love Quatro.

I used to think it was all shite, but it's not really. Some of it's a bit cheesy, but quite good. I quite like some of it. I blame that on getting Vice City a couple of years back. There was some really good stuff as well. The Clash had a couple of good albums out in the early 80s (although Cut The Crap in 1985 wasn't great). And there was New Order and The Smiths of course. Later on you had The Jesus and Mary Chain, and then Primal Scream of course, and then you had The Stone Roses and The Happy Mondays of course. I don't like a lot of Dance music these days, but stuff from the late 80's, early 90s was canny. Ride On Time, which was 1989, I think is the best Dance tune ever. Other than that: FILMS Back To The Future 1 Back To The Future 2 (Part 3 was made at the same time as 2 but 2 was released in 1989, and 3 in 1990) Ferris Bueller Rocky III, IV, V The Goonies Gremlins Ghostbusters TV PROGRAMMES First off, the Tyne Tees introductions. Must have been watched by just about every kid in Primary School in the 80s. At my school we watched Dark Towers, Badger Girl, Fairground, and of course Geordie Racer. We thought Geordie Racer was class cos it was set in Newcastle and people were speaking Geordie, and to see that on the telly when we were kids was a bit of a novelty to us. http://www.lookandread.fsnet.co.uk/stories...ndex.html#clips I also liked the educational songs that were in all the series, especially Magic E and Bill The Brickie. I remember on Geordie though instead of "Why don't you build yourself a word" the song went "Why divint ye build yersel a ward"

I'm going for an aptitude test tomorrow at Newcastle College. They've advised me to take an HEFC, and I'll probably choose Psychology. The person I spoke to reckoned I should just take the one now, to see how I get on with the workload. As I'm getting a higher qualification than the one I originally applied for, I don't mind the delay. 31834 I did three HEFCs in one year. Sociology, English Language and History. I'd been a way from education for a few years, but easily got back into it. The work load, even with three on the go I found very managable. Yes, they're the equivalent of an A-Level, but they've been designed for mature students, people who have been away from education for a long time, and who may not have got any previous academic qualifications. I wouldn't worry about it too much. word of warning though, if you just do one or two HEFC's, you'll have to pay for them. If you do three, you'll qualify as a full time student and ALL of them will be free.

24 Hour Party People shows an incident in which he fed pigeons loaves of bread laced with rat poison, followed by loads of pigeons dropping out of the sky across Manchester.

I had a nightmare in which Amdy Faye played for us and was shite.
-
Tbh you didn't need that part. It comes as part of the script for each match. 31341 You're right there like.

God almighty
-
I dunno, but when I was a kid, I did wonder what would happen if you lit a match and put it in a box of matches. Not one of those little ones, the great big boxes of cooking matches. It was great.

There was a bloke who did that a few times near me. Not a regular though. He was doing it to some of Fulham's players as well. I did think a couple of times I should turn around and say something, and I decided that I would the next time he said anything, but he never did. Faye's bloody awful, by all means I don't mind people slagging him off for that, but there's no need to be racist about it. I'd have Clarkey ahead of Faye anytime. Clark's not the best player, but then again neither is Faye is he, and with Clark you've at least got someone solid and hardworking, which counts for a lot.
-
Very frustrating, some flashes of good stuff, but not good enough. The ref was an absolute joke. Clueless. Faye was abysmal. I think a lot of people (mainly the media and charvers interviewed on SSN) built this up too much. For one thing, Owen has only met the rest of the team on Thursday afternoon, and yet they were predicting instant results. On the plus side, at least we got a goal and didn't lose. MOM- definitely N'Zogbia. I do think that things will come together for us, with or without Souness in charge, but I'm of the belief that if we don't rush into something, and if we can find the right person, then we should get rid of him. But I wouldn't sack him and then look. We ended up with Souness in the first place because FF sacked Robson and didn't have a clue who he wanted to get in.

I've not watched Home & Away for years. Stopped watching it when it stopped being on ITV and then wasn't on at all for ages and ages. It's a bit naff like, but then I don't mind watching naff soaps like Neighbours and Hollyoaks. Eastenders is too depressing, and people take Coronation Street too seriously. I can't be arsed with all that.

Two years ago, I did a HEFC (University access course for mature students - equivalent of A-levels) in Sociology at Newcastle College. I picked Sociology as my third choice, not knowing much about it at all, but I found it really interesting and easy to understand.
-
That sounds really shoddy. Which College is that? If I were you, first thing Monday you should get in touch with another College, and see what they can do for you. They might be able to sort something out for you, without you having to have missed too much.
