I've just finished History at Northumbria. OK it doesn't have the rep of Durham or Newcastle, but they run a decent history course - good lecturers who are approachable and knowledgable. Very few problems - no major ones whatsoever.

I first heard about it about four years ago when I was doing a project on Air Raid precautions and Facilities in Newcastle during WW2. Bit of that hair removal cream on the top of my back every now and then. I use stuff to soften facial hair and stubble to make it easier to shave once or twice a week. Moisteriser now and then - but to be fair I have borderline eczema, and I also use stuff to prevent bags under my eyes occassionally.

My Grandma's cousin was Cary Grant. Another of my Grandma's cousins used to play in Goal for the Beasts. My dad used to work with Brian Johnson out of ACDC at Parsons. I was at a party in London about 6 years ago, and Muse were there. During World War 2, my Grandad was on the Royal Navy Motor Gunboats in the Mediterranean. The Royal Navy and US Navy Gunboats in the Med worked closely together, and one particular night his boat had two US Naval officers and a US Navy journalist aboard. One of the officers was Douglas Fairbanks Jnr, and the Journalist was John Steinbeck. Malcolm Macdonald used to live around the corner from me, and was a regular in the local sandwich shop (now gone). I used to see him in there loads. My Dad's dog tried to shag his dog over at the local park.

I saw him on SSN earlier and he looks so old and frail these days. There was a definite slurring and slowness of his speech - despite him not being very articulate anyway. It's very sad to see him this way. I hope he does get better, but I just can't see it.
