class. I've been looking for that for years. I used to love watching this. To me, it was like a comedy.

Definitely Maybe = Best album they've done. My second favourite album by anyone EVER (What's The Story) Morning Glory = Not as good as DM but still a fantastic and important album Be Here Now = I don't understand how it's gets slated. Yeah, it's a bit overblown and coked up, but it's still great. Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants = By far the worst album they've done. Go Let It Out, Gas Panic! and Sunday Morning Call are really good. Little James however is dreadful and cringeworthy, while I Can See A Liar. Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is and Roll It Over are poor. The sad thing is though if they'd swapped some of the B-sides for those, stuff like One Way Road and Full On and included the unreleased demo of that era Solve My Mystery, it would have been a decent album. Heathen Chemistry = For me that was back to form, I'd put it as their third best album behind WTSMG and slightly ahead of BHN. Don't Believe The Truth = Not outstanding, but a solid album. The second worst they've done, but it's in 'the pack' with SOTSOG trailing far far behind it.

It's true about the Chilly. The Lounge is fine, but the bar can get full of radgees. Only ever been in Echo once, despite it being up the road. It's a bit shit really, not my thing. The Corner House is decidedly average. Not awful but not great either. The best beer they do is Kronenbourg, which is fine but that's as good as it gets. The Hussars, christ almighty. It's a bit of an old man's pub with it's regulars, don't sit in anyone's seat mind!

I'd be sad to see Given go, but I don't think he's been the same since the Harewood injury. He's still a great keeper, but he gets injured much more now, and I think when Harper gets a run in the team, he shows that he's just as good. I think if Harper had been playing regularly down the years, he'd be an England regular. If Given does go, I wish him well and I'd be happy with Harper as our first choice.

Shearer Wants To Speak To Rovers - Your Thoughts?
Tom_NUFC replied to bluepeter1875's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's a risk, but anyone going into management has to start somewhere, and wherever that is and whatever level it's at it's still a risk that a club has to take. You can make the argument of starting lower down and working up, but a lot of managers who've turned out to be decent haven't neccesarily taken that route. There's no guarantees that Shearer will make a good manager, but I think he has the right sort of characteristics that a manager needs. Having said that, when we got rid of Allardyce I said that I didn't want Shearer because it is a risk and I didn't think it was the right job or time for an untested manager, especially as there would be a lot of pressure and a lot at stake being who he is. As a Newcastle fan, I don't mind if he goes to Blackburn as we'll get to see how he does. If he does well, it's someone we can look at to manage us in the future, if it doesn't work out, we'll know not to go there and he keeps his reputation with us intact. If I was a Blackburn fan I'd probably be a bit more cautious. -
Souness: Antagonistic Bully Gullit: Vain, Arrogant Madman Allardyce: Useless bigmouth Dalglish: Idiot who meddled with a good team Roeder: Not good enough, but meant well

I saw that article last night. I don't think there's any question in the pronounciation, it's 'St Jameses'. I've always spelt it the way it's spelt outside SJP - St James' Park, and have always believed that in that situation, if the word ends in an s it is acceptable to either leave the second s out after the apostrophe or to put the second s in anyway. Therefore both St James' Park and St James's Park would be grammatically acceptable.

I don't mind being English, but I do feel alienated from it at times. The things that are often regarded as being typical of England and the English character are often different from the England that exists in this region. I identify with being Geordie and Northumbrian - with Newcastle and the region more than I identify with England. I also identify with being British. To be honest, if it was decided that Northumbria was to become a fifth nation of the UK, I'd be happy. I'd sooner we made more of a deal about St Cuthbert's Day than St George's day.

Fantastic. Just goes to show that the problem was Allardyce. It's the same players, but they look totally different. They're playing for one another, they're confident on the ball. I caught myself grinning like an idiot at the match today, due to the way we were playing. I've not done that in a long time. It feels good. MOM, Beye.

I'm partial to a bit of Rossini and Wagner. I'm not too keen when there's singing though. Opera's not my cup of tea at all.

Good job it's only in the ANL 2nd. I went to watch Newcastle Benfield v Consett in the ANL 1st yesterday (Benfield won 2-1) and both sides were swearing their heads off. I've been to watch Benfield a few times this season, and seen some good games. -
I think it's great, and like people have said already, you know you're home when you see the angel.

cheers lads. I'm bearing up. I'm pretty shocked and dazed by the news of course, but I'm alright. Like I said, I'm thinking about a lot of my relatives who have it far far worse than myself.
