Is it just me or was the best radio station on GTA San Andreas, K-Rose? That and the DUST I reckon.

I'll be there on saturday as will quite a few of us from the NUSC committee. I'm going down to the welcome/pub crawl tonight as well.

Cheers. I've been charged with sorting out the picture quiz, so hopefully it goes off OK.
-
Cheers for clearing that up. I'm trying to get stuff sorted for the NUSC thing tonight and I saw that and thought, am I missing something?
-
Is there actually a press conference? I can't find anything about this elsewhere.
-
Aye, I was just thinking that you couldn't really say it was any better than The Tyne, could you? As though the people writing it have been to every pub anyway. Edit: just had a quick gander at the list and the Cumberland Arms is there but The Tyne isn't which makes the latter's exclusion all the more perplexing. I like the Cumberland as well.

It's smashing, although I do prefer The Tyne, just down the steps.

It's been passed on to a lad called Colin Whittle, who has been instrumental in getting us transfered to a Trust status. He knows all the ins and outs of Supporters Direct and Supporters Trusts, so he's going to get in touch. Like Pud says, if you want to know more, come along to a Roadshow and have a listen to Colin. He'll answer any questions you might have. For starters, he's written a good article about it in The Mag summer special. It's strange that he's even written this when his colleague, George Caulkin has written about us on numerous occassions, attended open meetings etc. It makes you wonder if they even talk to each other or read each others' stuff.

Comedy Gold NUSC have been in touch with Supporters Direct for months and are currently in the final stages of setting up a Supporters Trust.
-
Yeah, inititally that was the case. However, its had to be delayed because of our change in status to a Supporters Trust, which our members agreed to. We've been talking with Supporters Direct and taking advice from them. All the paper work has been submitted to Supporters Direct and the Financial Services Authority to become a trust. That may be completed by the end of this month, but will certainly be through by the end of July at the very latest. What supporters Direct have said we should do then, is have a few months to allow the Trust to 'bed in' before holding elections, and they will advise and guide us in the election process. I would just point out that we are DEFINITELY becoming a Trust, and one of the fundamental rules of being a Trust is that we hold democratic elections, so I can promise you that there is a good reason for the delay, and we're not just trying to hold on to power for ourselves.
-
If this is legit, it could be interesting. Regarding the Trust, NUSC is 95% on the way to becoming a Supporters Trust. Our members have agreed to becoming a Trust, we've been accepted and all the paperwork is in. It's just a case of Supporters Direct completing it. So if this group wanted a trust, there's one ready and waiting.

It is yeah, and at £269 I think its a very good price. Its well made, looks great, Epiphone - decent make, and it has a gorgeous warm tone.

Yeah, I remember I used to get my feet measured as well. I didn't really love it though. And then I used to be allowed to go to the Pencils (remember them?). If I was REALLY good my Mam would take me to Sarah's Restaurant for my dinner.

Newcastle Jewellers on Pilgrim Street, they always have ads in The Metro (paper) saying they buy jewelry, watches etc. But like KD says, whether you get what its worth is another matter.

I bought this on Saturday

You know, I tend to think that there are acceptable reasons for supporting a club. Coming from the area, family reasons - your dad, grandad etc were supporters and came from the area, moved to the area and adopted them etc. But there are people who don't really fall into any of the catagories and yet they support us. And I can't help but admire because it shows that they're not gloryhunters. The same goes for any bandwagon jumpers who hopped on in the mid 90s, if they're still with us now, they're not in it for the glory. If people in those positions can stick with us through all the shit and embarrassments we've endured, then fair play, in my book they're as welcome to be amongst us as anyone.

Ditto. As a kid when I was becoming aware of and interested in Football it was just a natural conclusion that because I was from Newcastle, Newcastle United was the team I HAD to support. I had no idea that some people picked their teams on who happened to be good at the time.
