1. I saw the Victory match against Queensland, the bastard ref gave Thompson a yellow for diving in the penalty area when he was clearly brought down. It just sucks that there were no Victory home matches while I've been in town, although I've done my bit by buying both a home and an away shirt. I take it you've jumped on the new Sydney team bandwagon? I've been surprised how much of a following the Victory are getting here, I've come across a lot of people that are excited about football. It was always hard for me to get behind Melbourne teams in the past being neither Greek nor Croatian. It's great to have a team with no ethnic bias. 35026 Jumped on the Sydney bandwagon??? No, I will be supporting my home team of Newcastle (didn't you see my post in the football section?) I'll go see a few Sydney matches because of the ease in getting there plus I'm trying to encourage the kids I coach to support local football, so I will organise groups to go from my club. Another great idea I've heard is a lot of English and Scottish ex-pats are thinking about supporting the Central Coast as going to a match will be like going to an away fixture back home. An hour on the train, a couple of beverages, see the match and a train trip home with a bit of singing and a couple more beers. Back to the AFL, I had to interview one of the Swan's fitness coaches today and after the interview he and I started talking about the new a-league. The other football codes are actually taking the new league seriously and are worried about what it is going to do to their supporter base. At last we may actually get people to understand it is the one world played football.
2. Thought some of you might be interested in the fact Guy Bates played his debut league game yesterday afternoon for his new team Newcastle Untied Jets (it just doesn't sound right does it?). Although clearly not match fit, he chased down everything and although unfortunate not to get his name on the score sheet, he did win an important free kick that lead to Newcastle's 2nd goal. By the 60th minute he was knackered and therefore subbed. This is the match report from theworldgame site: Jets crush NZ Knights 4-0 AAP Newcastle has moved into second on the A-League ladder with a convincing 4-0 win over New Zealand Knights at EnergyAustralia Stadium. The Jets registered the league's biggest victory to date despite missing star striker Ante Milicic, who suffered a hamstring strain in the warm-up. Labinot Haliti partnered debutant Guy Bates up front for the Jets in Milicic's absence, and made the most of his opportunity by putting the home side in the lead after 12 minutes. Matt Thompson and Stuart Musialik made it 3-0 by the break, before Nick Carle finished the rout in the 70th minute - all goals well appreciated by the vocal 7495-strong crowd. Milicic broke his finger in last week's win over Sydney and would have started but for his recurrent hamstring problem. Haliti's opening score followed a near miss from Thompson. Jets skipper Ned Zelic floated a long free kick into the penalty area, which Thompson headed against the left post. Haliti reacted quickly to tap home the rebound. Thompson doubled his sides lead in the 27th minute after the Knights failed to properly clear a Carle free kick. The ball fell back into Carle's path with the star midfielder looping the ball into the box for Thompson to head passed a goalkeeper Danny Milosevic. Musialik, in his starting debut, netted Newcastle's third in the 37th minute after finishing off some quality lead-up work from Carle and Richard Johnson with a great run and header. Carle added the fourth from the penalty spot after he was tripped in the box by fullback Knights Ronnie Bull. Newcastle coach Richard Money labelled his side's performance as clinical. "Some of the play in the final third was tremendous, the move for the penalty was out of the top drawer," Money said. "If we put work ethic together with the ability we've got, we've got a chance of being a decent team. "We're getting better week by week, but we've done nothing yet." After Milicic felt a twinge in his hamstring during the warm-up, Money said he felt it was better to pull the former Socceroo out. "When he came to me and said he's got a slight problem, it's not what you want to hear before the match. The boys that went up front gave that little bit extra, which was terrific." Knights coach John Adshead was at a loss to describe his side's performance. "We defended poorly, why that is, its hard to put your finger on," Adshead said. "We didn't get any breaks. It was a very poor day at the office. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong." Adshead paid tribute to Newcastle's defence. "Some of the goals were a bit bizarre. You wouldn't call them classics. But they capitalised on the breaks they got and didn't let us back in." Updated: Sun, Sep 18, 2005 08:10:59 PM AEST All photos copyright AAP http://www4.sbs.com.au/a-league/index.php3?id=63234
3. I just glanced at this and in my dislexic mind I saw: Sorry magelaide. Did you see any of the a-league matches on the weekend instead of the aerial ping pong?
4. And the other 1% is what? 34993 The foreskin's spam!
5. Sorry Cath but it is all about educating the uninformed. (Plus it is my better side, don't you think?)
6. Arrrr, it already be talk like a pirate day, you lilly livered piece of shark bait, arrrr.
7. Shouldn't that be Prince-Albert? 34137 Point of clarification. A Prince Albert is piercing of the penis and not a cock-ring. The traditional cock ring. They restrict blood flow from out of the penis, keeping it harder longer. So to summarise, a Prince Albert goes through and a cock-ring goes around and only one has a hypen.
8. Read my comment for what it is, a comment on digital camera's quality of image. Man some people! As for your second comment, yeah foreskin your computer monitor will look great hanging on the wall so you can display it because your crappy point and shot will never give you the opportunity to print anything bigger than a postcard size image. As Mr T once said, I pity the fool!
9. Try tin! Or maybe plastic with some of your comments. How's the search for a Landan team?
10. Except the original author who as the writer of the first word should also be entitled to the last! 33917 Why?? Anyway no, it's now locked down for everyone..... (except the mods! ) 33931 See above for the answer to your question.
11. Except the original author who as the writer of the first word should also be entitled to the last! 33917 I don't know why you're getting so excited about being the original author. It's only when wankers like me get embroiled in pointless arguments that the threads start getting good 33925 Good to see we both know are places in life then alex. I start the gold and you wank all over it!!!!!!!!

14. Except the original author who as the writer of the first word should also be entitled to the last!
15. You sure that's not just the level of education the locals have? 33910 Well, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt... 33912 That will just leave you in trouble. Next thing you know the whole of the world will be speaking 'merican and Britney will be queen.
16. You sure that's not just the level of education the locals have?
17. Cobblers. They're here to stay as the mainstay of consumer-level photography. 33905 Did you just say cobblers???? Gemmill yes and no. The thing about digital cameras is that most people buy cheap and below average quality because they don't know any better. Do you remember 110 film? It was the stills version of 8mm and although it was film the quality was average because of the size of the film. Plus as I stated most people won't worry about the lens and no matter what the actual back is if the lens is cheap and nasty that is what you get, just like with the 110 cameras. The company I work for also has a stills department and I can tell you that the move to digital cameras at a professional level has been very tentative. A professional camera back costs 10k Australian plus and the lens they use are the same they have for their 35mm cameras - all rather costly. Most people won't go to half that level, hence the polariod comment. People are happy to buy a cheap, fixed focal length digital camera or even worse one with a digital zoom. Which is fine and dandy if you just want to look at it on the lcd at the back of the camera or on your computer monitor but if you want to print it and hang it on your wall, well good luck.
18. They are the polaroid of the new millenium, good for home made porn and that's about it! But if you must, just as others have said and this applies to all cameras, it is about the lens. The better the quality the better the picture. If you must and can afford it try here: happy snappy
19. Which tread? I'd like to read this discussion please. Fuck go on holidays for a week and world moves to fast!
20. and I see I'm the most popular author of gold status threads. Cool! Hey foreskin let's see you top that. It has been a bit of a slow day. Now what else can we discuss that has gold written all over it?
21. That's only because you've seen her home made porn on the web, you dirty bastid! (Note for those that don't know, Elle Macpherson has a sister by the name of Mimi who thought it would be cool to let her boyfriend video them one evening. The short version is that after they broke up he decided it maybe worth something from the family, so he asked for a small fee. And in order to help with the ease of distribution he took it to a local video dubbing company to have copies made. The tape operator there recognised Miss Mimi and it found its way out into the public domain. The sad fact is that although said boyfriend is rather well endowed, he is pretty useless with it and most of the tape is her masturbating like a jack hammer on her clitoris!)
