  1. Agreed BUT they also need to realise that they purchased a club that needed future investment in the playing squad, so probably double of what they initially spent on players, just to get it up to scratch. The EH factor has minimised that to some extent but as the squad ages the needs become greater. My only concern is we haven't gone the genuine revenue raising through ridiculous commercial deals like the big 13 clubs have. Sponsor for bog cleaner, fork sponsor, sanitary napkin sponsor, etc. If Chelsea can honestly get away with selling themselves their hotels and women's team, then our commercial team needs to be more adventurous within the lines.
  2. They have had plenty of opportunity to do this, along with purcahsing players for the Saudi league to then loan to us, and they haven't. Either they really want to do things without having any implications, like Citeh's 300 odd charges, hanging over their head or they really aren't that arsed and we are just another investment in their portfolio that has to wipe its own nose.

  4. I think a large factor with the Fulham result was the team are conscious of the importance of Wednesday night's game and were a bit reserved because of it - which is fair and probably should of been expected. Not just that, he needs to be stood next to the fourth offical all game, can in one hand, dart in the other, offering the official a can/tea/coffee/spliff every few moments and blowing smoke in Lego Head's face everytime he comes over to complain.
  5. Fuck off, everyone knows that is already a tie between Andy Griffin and Aaron Hughes! I always hoped Tripps would reitre and move into EH's coaching squad because he definitely has an ability to help those around him but it seems he wants a move as much as anyone - three windows now he's been linked away. And yes as Gloomy stated, step forth Cheese - let's hope he can stay fit until the end of the season.
  6. Tino's pace more than makes up for any deficencies he has, has to be our quickest player and his positional sense when runing/tracking his man is spot on.
  7. That is correct. Ahmed needs to be reminded that what makes this place special is there are no "rules" just common sense, so complaining to the "mods" to have something shutdown isn't the done thing. Suck it up and deal with it - TT is a democracy manifest (especially in Ahmed's case).
  8. If it's a buy option, then it ia cack deal for us because as you say, they can send him back and we are out a warm body that covers LB and LCB. Makes fuck all sense. As for this, Trips is someone we should be getting off the books asap, his legs are gone, he's on big money and he generally looks pissed off for whatever reason - personal life/not being first choice/not being allowed to go to Bayern this time last year. I have more faith in Kelly doing a job than Trips these day.
  9. Fuck, don't say it out loud Holden, the superstitious lot will be after you.
  10. Not sure what you want here Gemma. It's all conjecture and we know fuck all about the goings on behind closed doors. You seem to have a thing for Mitchell, I have no idea about him other than that shitty interview he did that put Eddie's nose out of joint. Vaudeville villain? As I said I'm just being devil's advocate. Question for you seeing you're ITK, do you really think EH will be happy about selling/losing three or four first team squad players in January, with no replacements, when they are on the cusp of finishing in a European places and still in two cup competitions?
  11. Again Scotty you are correct but it is usually the structure before the manager is hired, not the gaffer first then a DoF and then another DoF, all the while neither "seemingly" contributing much to the playing squad. PIF will be having expectations, what they are we obviously don't know but there will be most likely some level of Europe for next season.
  12. Ratcliffe would probably drive him to a new club and let him go for free if he could get the almost 400k a week of the wage bill.
  13. Nothing to do with the fans. Mitchell will have instilled himself into the position of dealing with the PIF and making sure EH just get on with training and managing. It's that typical middle management cunt v worker.
  14. Yes, get that but doubt he feels that his boyhood club is the same place anymore. You just know EH wouldn't be keen on a "star" signing, he wants workers who are happy to quietly and determined go about their jobs.
  15. But that's not how it works, the first one blamed is the manager, especially when they aren't the DOF's "man".
  16. It would be nice to see what EH is able to get out of Rashford, if he could get him to buy in, could you imagine?
  17. Playing devil's advocate, surely it's fine to work towards players that are here/part of the setup for the next 4 or 5 years and the club can take their chance by weakening the squad by selling Kelly, Miggy, Targett or Longstaff but the league is extremely tight from fourth to tenth and with a few key injuries it's not inconceivable that we will struggle for bodies and could finish out of the European places again. Nothing is guaranteed. And you would think without Europe again, the next level of player we hope the club are after, plus the ones we want to keep, becomes less likely. It's still a squad game, even if some aren't up to the level we'd like.
  18. If that's the case we need to go all Chelsea and hire a few playing consultants, like maybe Lautaro Martinez, Florian Wirtz and Rodrygo to help with our RW problem, just to ensure that the infrastructure is fit for purpose!
  19. No that was me, Wolfgang just thinks all Australians play egg ball of some sort! 😉 How weird is it watching those crowdless covid lockdown matches now? Bet none of them ever get featured as a "classic" match from the past. BTW see you Miggy, thanks for the effort and dedication you gave for NUFC, you copped way more grief than you ever deserved, enjoy your time back with Atlanta (and be careful of those immagration czars).
  20. Been watching most of St Pauli's games this season and enjoying the fact that in the Bundesliga after a 50-50 challenge, you don't have one or both players rolling around like they have just had their fanny amputated with a rusty steel can trying to get an opposition player booked. Fuck all play acting is refreshing.
