You ever noticed that no one ever complains about the Blades being Saudi owned, why is that? And you weren’t scolded, you were chastised! TBH we here all look forward to the day we can be blasé about the league cup but when your last domestic cup win was 1955 and league title 1927, we’d be happy to win a paper cup let alone silverware!

I thought these were fight bots???

For starters, fuck off with that shite, it's a cup and most would give their left bollock for Newcastle to win a cup. Regardless the match is a whole 8 days away and there are too many pants pissers on this forum to allow anyone to start the match thread until after the Sheffield United game. That said it's better than the final years of Ashley were most match threads didn't happen until five minutes before KO.

Two things, Victory fans are renown for being absolute cunts (they have a history of brawls, pitch invasions and at the time were already on a good behaviour bond) and earlier that week the A-League association had announced they had signed a deal with Stadium Australia, in Sydney, to host the grand final for the next three seasons and, of course, regardless of the teams playing in it, so the Victory fans decided they weren't happy. A bit of background, since the leagues inception, the GF has been held at the home ground of the highest place team that makes the final and with Victory having a successful history, they had held it a number of times over the years - not that their recent history would point to that. But the association had recently lost millions from their TV revenue because there was a clause in the contract that included a "bonus" payment if a certain number of subscribers signed up (online broadcaster) and the association being the idiots they are thought it was a given but lo and behold, they didn't make the number, so they found a solution that no one agreed with. To the actual incident - the Victory fans had made a big fuss about protesting that game, turning their backs, etc. Then one of their idiot fans threw a flare at the City keeper, he decided to return it back to where it came, next thing you know, the cunts jump the fence, rushed him, some cunt picked up the sand bucket, where flares are meant to be extinguished, and starts laying into the keeper with it. A bunch were arrested, some have actually fled the country. The conspiracy theorist in me, thinks there is more to it - this was just weeks after Australia had had a successful World Cup and football always has a huge boost here after we do well in a WC but there is a lot of hate for the local national league from the other football codes, rugby league and aussie rules, and because that's where the money in sport is, in this country, they fear losing it. Rugby League matches currently are at an all time low for attendance and TBH, only Victoria and the weirdo states of SA and WA care about aerial ping pong. Football is the most played game here but it's professional competition has never cracked it - the other have a lot to lose.

Fucking hell @OTF I told you not to do that interview! "Best part" about South Australia is it was the only state of Australia that was a free settlement, so no convicts, which means it was filled with religious zealots and fucking weirdos. Place is full of churches and mass murderers and although that footage looks like it was shot in the 80s, it wasn't, it was only 3 weeks ago. To put things in to perspective further, the first newspaper Murdoch owned was the Adelaide afternoon tabloid, The News, so South Australia is also responsible for that racist cunt.

TBH didn't even realise that 777 partners were involved with Melbourne Victory but if what happening there is how they are going to operate the blue scouse mackems, bring it on! So obviously the difference in money is huge but Victory have been one of the better clubs, financially and with trophies during the time of the A-League but the last few years, they have been all over the shop, under performing finishing 2nd bottom last season, runners up in 21-22 and bottom in 20-21. According to this they have taken full control as of this season and the former chairman isn't happy or confident.

Anyone see the penalty/VAR review for Villa against Palace? Fucking criminal it stood, defender got the ball and Villa forward tripped over the defender, there was no going through the attacker, brilliant bit of defending. Ref gives a penalty, VAR calls him over to review the decision, ref goes fuck that, have at it Villa, whole game turns on the wrong decision that VAR got correct. Whole thing is a shambles.

And it all started Jerry Lee Lewis and a thirteen year old cousin! There’s a lot of muck to be raked in popular music.

Who?

Funny you should mention that - no, it only came to me this morning after I finished watching the game. For some reason I originally thought it was a Rick Springfield song but the only reason the song has stuck was because of these cartoons (NSFW) I remember seeing as a young lad in dirty Hugh's magazine.

Actually, you're right my western Hobbiton based friend, add Rupert, the whopping cunt, Murdoch to that list as well.
-
You forgot Trump, young Rayin, you forgot TRUMP! Cunts, lying, deceitful cunts, the fucking lot of them.

Shouldn't a triple be 8-9% though? You got ripped off MF, probably should bought yourself four of them to try to get the same effect.

That was Bellar's biggest problem, you never knew if he was actually going to score or be wide of the mark, sounds like he missed a hat-trick here.

Mitoma for 2.4M is an absolutel steal.

Something still doesn't look right, the team isn't pressing the way they did last season. Many of you said Gordon had a great game, yes there was lots of tireless running and he did well to earn the pen but his final ball and a lot of the time he seems to be on his heels when he should be anticipating things. Though Barnes also had a touch of the Miggy's today with wanting to constantly come inside on his favoured foot. Burn got caught out early but after the first 20 minutes he had their right wing under control. Bruno's was more like his old self and Longy made a huge difference. I think with Bruno and Longstaff on the pitch, we probably would have got more out of Miggy today than Gordon but who knows. The thing for me about the overturned penalty is the referee has blown straight away and we had possession and yet he restarts it by giving an uncontested drop ball to their keeper - forgetting all the was it, should it, why the fuck does the team with possession lose the ball in that circumstance? Three points is three points, so onwards, they just need to get this nervous shite out of their game, too many aimless or hit and hope balls being played atm.

The show I work on these days uses commercial music so I've had to listen/use to a lot of stuff I would have just previously ignored and it's surprising how good some of this stuff is. I still can't be fucked with the r'n'b or the shite they now call r'n'b. @Blastronaut while I've got your attention, Bass Drum Of Death are doing a gig in Glasgow at Room 2 on Oct 11 if you have a chance go see them. @PaddockLad saw them when they toured with the Lemonheads last year/early this, fuck knows why they were supporting Evan and that shite, and was impressed. BTW Rob closest show to you is London 13/10 at Moth Club.

Mitski's new one is interesting from wheat I've heard so far. Also really like Holy Waves new album, Five Of Cups
