  1. CMHM, that's awesome news, sometimes we just have to wait for the world to align, then things happen.
  2. I still feel Kuol’s problem is he’s young and it has been a huge change for him being away from family. Scotland wasn’t good because they hoped the fellow Australian players would help with the move away, remember this kid and his family were refugees to Australia, so they have been through a lot. Now the change of manager at Hearts totally fucked the whole dynamic for him but he obviously also wasn’t impressing the new manager and I think you will find that played a role in who was actually in for him this season. People also don’t realise he only played half a season at A-League level before moving to Europe. It wasn’t enough to prepare him or show if he was good enough. If they want recruit players like Garang, we need a second tier European club, so that’s where they go, they are managed the way the club needs and they are not at the whim of someone not worried about NUFC’s assets. As for Minteh, get the fucker back asap, give him the 99 shirt and let’s qualify for the knock out round of the CL.
  3. Too right Gloomy and if you stay the fuck away from games and making match threads we should be a-okay!
  4. Yes but that wasn't the question. If we make the League Cup semis, does he not bother with the FA Cup, so puts out bairns and 3rd choice players, so he can concentrate on the LC and the league, then we are just in two competitions? And then what happens if we lose that semi final or even the final, everything is down to just the league position at the end of the season. I think EH thinks exactly how @ackas has described, play the next game in front of you and try and win. He's definitely pragmatic with results but I don't think he sets his teams up to draw or lose, seems too measured and competitive.
  5. So what's the thought on the FA Cup? If we make the semi-finals of the league cup are you in favour of sending out the D team? Where does EH draw the line? Serious question.
  6. Fucking this. Gordon should be doing nothing but having ice baths and his balls drained by his missus this week and next week he can resume training. TBH, that should be the plan for the whole team but with their own WAGS, as Ms G needs to concentrate on Rocky not the others.
  7. Not 100% sure but I think they are medical, if required. That game was played in Bendigo, on an AFL/cricket oval (taking games to the regional areas), so they could have been just three local bogans that won a comp that allowed them to sit pitchside, like a real football match and not half a mile away with the 5 others from Bendigo that went.
  8. Fucking Jets got their first win of the season on the weekend. What is it like, with only one Newcastle team allowed to win per weekend?!??
  9. Hate to be pedantic Fist, as there are other far more qualified for that around here, but Holden shirley is the boards second leading thread starter? Scotty will tell you who is really the leading thread starter!
  10. Now give your travel card back to your mum and no more going to games, then we should be fine from now on.
  11. More plastic than a Tesla and just as reliant upon batteries. Anyone watch Disney's Pam & Tommy?
  12. You can bet, Sandro can get you the odds, he must definitely would. He knows we are going to win a trophy in the, sooner than later, future and no other club he’d end up at will give him that opportunity. Hummels does only need to take one step to every two of Wilson’s.
  13. He was unlucky. He worked his bollocks off for the team all night.
  14. Ah but he was no Collinson Twins in the Twins Of Evil the greatest Hammer film EVER.
  15. Sorry but isn't that Roy Keane's hobby?
  16. It's fucking hard graft being a lone striker in a team set up like our's and that's part of the reason why both Wilson and Isak look isolated at times. But also, they both have limitations, Wilson isn't as quick as he once was and Isak is slight in build and sometimes looks like he's being bullied out of the game. Problem is unless we get fortunate enough to find a Haarland or Drogba or Shearer in their prime, the team needs to find away to play around its limitations. BTW I didn't say Wilson is shot just he's at that stage where he shouldn't be relied upon to be first choice, even second if we want to fulfil the aspirations the club have.
  17. Like Shearer when his legs went, he's just not up to the task of leading the line by himself, especially against a physical defence like Dortmund's but he's a great option off the bench, so let's not replace him but move him from 1st/2nd choice striker to our 3rd choice for when we want to play two up top, have injuries or need to give the first choice a rest.
