  1. Just realised I'm not gonna win my bets. So the clock on it not affecting my day to day starts tomorrow.
  2. Steve McClaren is the original brolliegarch.
  3. I was talking about things I CAN'T control.
  4. My lass washes everything before it goes in the recycle bin. I need to take her to the tip one day so she can see how fucking spick and span they keep it.
  5. The day it knocks on the door is the day you deal with it. There's signal and there's noise. This affecting me personally may come one day, but in the meantime I can cut out all of the noise really easily by not listening to podcasts that obsess about this stuff, not watching the news, and not doing social media. That removes all of the OMG HES GONNA DO THIS! THEN HE'S GONNA DO THAT! IT'S GONNA BE SO BAD! If the will is there you can cut all of that noise out of your life. I'm not saying you can avoid it altogether. You'll see paper headlines or whatever but you can remove the vast vast majority of it. If you want to.
  6. Yep a much more sensible approach would he to spend the day worrying about a nuke landing on my forehead or a flood washing away my house. That's the way to live.
  7. Yes I was being literal. Today is literally where we all live.
  8. When you combine it with him saying a few weeks back "don't worry about the votes, we've got the votes", aye maybe.
  9. So how specifically is this affecting my day today?
  10. I'd love something like that here. It's ridiculous that anyone over 18 or whatever it is, can buy them.
  11. Might have to sign off Toontastic as well by the look of it. Christ.
  12. Right, well starting with today, it doesn't affect me. Doubt much will change tomorrow either. Or the day after that. Unless I allow it to by wallowing in the misery. That's what I'm talking about.
  13. Good time to check out of politics podcasts too. The News Agents have just gone the journey. Others will follow as they pump out the doom and drama.
  14. No, it absolutely doesn't affect your day to day. I'll go to work today, do my job, I'll walk the dog, and I'll spend time with my lass in the evening. I won't doomscroll and I won't watch the news. There will inevitably be trickle down effects in our country, of course there will, but that's not my day to day life. That's Keir Starmer's day to day life.
  15. These latinos who voted Trump because when he was talking deportation, he "didn't mean me", but were pretty chill about him meaning someone else.... CAVEAT EMPTOR, BITCH.
  16. He dropped it somewhere along the river.
  17. Our estate was like a war zone for a good hour last night. Cat and dog fucking bricking it. It's the only time I wish I was on Facebook so I could go on our estate's shitty Facebook group and tell whoever is setting off the explosions that I hope they take one in the eye.
  18. Fair play to the pollsters BTW. They've finally worked out that America is just packed to the rafters with arseholes.
  19. You can't even really just blame this on social media. A lot of the mainstream media in the US rowed in behind Trump too. They can all get to fuck. This only affects your day to day life if you allow it to. Switch off, do your shitty day job, and spend the rest of your time doing things you enjoy. It's the job of other people to deal with Trump anyway. He'll be dead before too long and he's likely gonna absolutely rinse their economy anyway.
  20. Oof glad you're OK Andrew. That looks like a bad one.
  21. This cunt should have been in prison btw. The way he's been basically given a pass on actual crimes, and now he's back in the White House with a supreme court that says he can do whatever he wants while he's there. Right that's me switching this off. No need to watch the funeral procession. Trump is gonna win the popular vote by the looks of it too.
  22. This is where we are. Basically everything needs to go perfectly in the places left counting in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, and somehow run counter to the swing that's taken place everywhere else. It's hugely unlikely. She was a really good candidate, ran a very good campaign, Trump was fucking dreadful, and yet here we are. Another 4 years of this fucking melon coming out with more wild shit, and this time he basically runs the biggest information outlet on the planet.
  23. Obviously not over yet, but a Harris win is looking pretty unlikely. A good part of the reason for that has to be what the bloke is saying in the post above. The lunatics have been allowed to completely take control of the narrative. The daily media diet of these people is completely fucked That and the fact that a significant portion of America is absolutely fine with racism, sexism, and having a clearly rapey senior in charge, if they think it will make them 1% better off personally. Europe needs to open it's eyes to this and take the regulation of these social media companies seriously, starting with Musk's megaphone.
