You get holiday, you get sick days and then you get these other days for basically whatever. Say your dog dies or a family member suddenly needs urgent care, whatever. They don't have an upper limit on them and you just need to tell your manager you're taking them.

Nah ours is entirely separate from sick or annual leave. When I worked in America, I had 20 days holiday and then sick time came separately, but lads I knew from other firms had a bank of personal days that EVERYTHING came out of, including sick time. Mental. Americans fucking love work though, they take the most pointless amount of holidays and if someone comes along wanting 2 weeks (me), it's like "Oooo a proper EUROPEAN style vacation."

The place I just moved to as recently as last year implemented a new policy whereby you can just book no-questions-asked time off if you've got something going on in your life. So if something happens to a family member or you need to take time off for your own mental health or anything. You just tell your boss, book it in the system, and off you go. I was amazed, given the way the rest of the country is going.

Yeah Juno Temple was excellent in Fargo S5. And that was a good season. Finished Mr & Mrs Smith at the weekend and thought it was very good. Some more action in the later episodes but the whole series was about the chemistry between the two main characters and they were class.

The most telling comment Howe has made with regards to Hall was when he said "it's up to Lewis". To me that suggests problems with his attitude/application. I imagine Howe's training demands are much harder than anything he's dealt with before.

Aye definitely prone to abuse, but football is so fucking leaky that you'd have to think it would probably get out.

I'd like to see us keep him locked out of transfer activity til summer 2025 tbh. Also I'd make him ask to be excused every time he needs the toilet. That one runs to Jan 2026.

In one of the responses to this he says that he's been told that our negotiating start point is actually north of £20m. Not expecting them to pay that, but it is going to be "a very expensive appointment" for them.

Aye, Brighton aren't the only club in world football that was well run. We'll get someone in and hopefully trouser some cash from Man United. It's definitely not ideal cos the new man will have different ideas/possibly want some people replaced, but that's life.

It's the standers who need to worry about getting their brown butterfly pattern chipped off.

I know the birth rate is meant to be too low in this country so we're headed for an ageing population with not enough people to wipe their arses. Luckily I keep a tight ship back there and I don't see that changing in my twilight years.

True Faith did a live event at the weekend with journos on the panel. Luke Edwards was saying that when Howe was asked how Burn is coping with "the noise" around his recent performances, Howe firstly knew nothing about it and secondly couldn't understand why people were criticising Burn. So aye. Might just be Howe's polite way of saying "I pick the team, I don't listen to anyone else, and especially not the fucking neck-ends that inhabit twitter".

It makes total sense as well when you think about it. This bloke should have the next 3 to 4 transfer windows plotted out for us, so of course we're not about to let him leave and start next month at a rival. I just feel like, much like the attitude on that redcafe forum and on social media, Man United are big timing us with the way that they've handled this so far. Even their journalists, like that Adam Crafton bloke saying that this will get sorted out for much lower sums and much shorter notice periods. Well yeah, the maximum is 20 months or whatever and it's likely we'll come down from that cos that's how negotiating works, but I feel like they all just assume that we're about to dance to their tune. The bloke wants to leave, and they're gonna get their man, but we absolutely have to put a marker down here for the way they've carried on when we've tried to sign one of their players recently. And most importantly, go protect our own interests.
-
I assume our lot will be fizzing at the way Man United have handled this. Leaking to Ornstein last year that they want the bloke, then taking their time to actually do anything about it. Approaching Ashworth before they've made any official approach to us, all the while causing a destabilising effect on us. I hope so anyway, cos I really hope they're gonna dig their heels in on this. And fuck Ashworth in terms of feeling bad if he has to sit in the house for a couple of years. He signed the contract and he's the one that wants to get out of it after 18 month.

Gardening leave is the dream like, the lucky cunt!
-
One of them saying "Newcastle have no leverage". Mate, we've got ALL OF IT.
-
His gardening leave is close to two years. Joelinton must be livid he's not gonna get to negotiate his contract with this fucking dope.
-
If there's any truth in the patter that he's annoyed by the FFP restrictions.... Well those are the rules mate. That's the framework you have to operate in. You're not playing fucking FM24. If you can't operate within those parameters, find a different career.

Sold!

£10m and he doesn't start til after the summer window, and you've got yourself a deal. Off you fuck, Daniel.

Being a Man United fan must be like living in The Bubble. If you can't be arsed to watch the above, Tina Fey starts going out with Jon Hamm and this bloke lives a life where EVERYTHING goes his way cos he's so handsome. But he has no fucking clue just how much the world is bending over backwards to please him. She tries to wake him up to The Bubble but he just can't see it. You see their fans on social media and they genuinely think that they suffer just like fans of every other club, and that refs hate them and stuff. Doesn't matter how much insane shit happens in matches, they just cannot wake up to it.

On the plus side, Luton were all over them in the last 25 and ended up with about 60% possession for the half, so they're still in with a shout. Although I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see these dicks go 3-1 up early in the second half either. They've subbed Casemiro at half time anyway so that's nice for them. They're showing all of his fouls now. Took three yellow card incidents for him to get the first and then they ignored the fourth.
-
Someone can correct me if I missed it, but I think they've just done the half time analysis without mentioning the Casemiro incident. 👍
